Writing his hands, Seamus waited for the gods to tell him they had indeed made a mistake, and he did not need to begin the wizard's trial.

Instead, the goddess smiled benignly at him. 'We have been watching your progress, and we believe it is as we expected. You are perhaps the most gifted mage of your time, but your gift is not something often seen in your lands, so no one has the experience to help you master it.'

'Well, that is useful,' Seamus said sarcastically. 'I have a great gift but will never be able to use it.'
