Chapter 126: Some Midnight Spying

Keeping to the shadows, Dominic followed the elusive Robin through the manor's back corridor. Before opening the door to the courtyard, the older man turned around to check behind him. Satisfied he was alone, he slipped outside.

Unable to leave the house without being noticed, Dominic slid through another open door into what appeared to be the servant's dining room. Through the window, he could make out Robin standing nearby, staring intently at something in his hand while his lips moved.

Someone had left the window partially open, so the spy crouched to get his ear as close to the gap as he could, hoping some of what his quarry said would drift through.
