Chapter 128: A Glimmer of Light

SEAMUS

The palace was quiet, almost too quiet. Seamus' footsteps echoed as he made his way to the library. Sighing, he opened the door and steeled himself for another day going through dusty scrolls. He found Walter already at work, in fact the magician was so engrossed he did not notice Seamus enter the room, grab an armful of scrolls, and dump them on the table. Even noisily pulling the wooden chair out and slumping down onto it could not pull Walter from his study.

Unfurling the scroll closest to him, Seamus let out a groan, predicting today would be much like yesterday. After the others left, he, Walter, Liam and Emer went straight to the library. Around lunchtime, Liam suggested an afternoon of outdoor training, and Emer leapt at the chance of leaving the dusty documents for a while. Seamus watched them go, longing to join them.
