Amphitrite

It's been one thing after another ever since I woke up. I haven't been able to get proper rest since the moment I woke up this morning. It's been a hectic day and I honestly don't really expect it to get better anytime soon.

I woke up a few moments ago, I could hear my uncle, Edward shouting to someone saying I was not in the state to talk to people and all that. Aunt Adellah noticed I was awake and came to my side to check up on me. "Dear, how do you feel, do you feel pain in your body?". "I am fine aunt, I am better than yesterday. I just still feel a bit of pain in my left leg, that's all". I could see her visibly relax at that statement, she called the nurse over and asked her to check on my leg. She had a frown on her face after the nurse told her something, I was curious about what had happened and decided to ask her, "Aunt Adellah what happened, is something wrong?". She was quite taken aback by my question but put forward a smile and answered "nothing dear, it's just that your leg's just going to take some time to heal". I definitely knew it wasn't as simple as that by the look on her face but decided to keep quiet about it.

Uncle Edward's arrival with some people brought me out of my thoughts. "Hey there Ed, hope you had some sleep because these people here clearly don't have the decency to let a patient rest". This made the people scoff at his comment, but they didn't seem to care whatsoever. "Hey kid, the name's Ronald Shaklebolt. I am auror from the ministry of magic. I have some questions for you". I nodded and asked the auror to proceed, but before the auror could ask questions uncle intervened, "Just so you know Ed you don't have to answer questions you don't want to, okay?". This was more telling the Aurors that I won't answer questions I don't feel comfortable to, than suggesting me something. I was glad that he did that, and was relieved that both uncle and aunt are both with me right now.

They asked me questions to which I answered most of them except for the divination part, I mean come on, even a bloke would know not to share such information. I don't want to become a target of the ministry. So I skipped these parts and answered all the other questions. "Mr. Edwin thank you for your cooperation, we really appreciate it. We are really sorry to disturb you when you were sick and going through so much, just know that we had to, it was an emergency". "It's fine Mr.Shaklebolt, I don't mind helping you find the criminals that did all this to my family. But I ask you this, do let me know if you find something regarding the attack that happened to my family". The aurora looked at me for some time before answering that he will be sure to update me on this situation. They soon left after talking to my uncle about something.

"Hey there lad, seems like you are doing quite fine. I see those nuisances have left, they didn't bother you much did they?", said madam Devyn. I nodded my head and she started to do some tests on me. She used quite a few magic spells on me. She had a frown on her face and looked reluctant to tell me something but decided to say it in the end "kid, you have severe injuries in your left leg. There is a limit to what magic can do, healing magic can only do so much to repair your leg". "Will I be able to walk?", I asked expecting the unfortunate. "No, nothing like that, but you won't be able to run or do heavy lifting. You will be able to walk just fine with time. So don't go up and running the moment you get released". I genuinely felt relieved after hearing that I can walk properly albeit with time.

I had to stay in the hospital for a few months, so I asked my aunt for some books related to the magic that I can read. I also found out that I was going to live with my uncle in Uganda, so my aunt had me learn the Ugandan language. She gave me quite a lot of books to read with varying subjects like- History of magic, wandless magic, basics of magic, Spell creation 101, and a few more. Uncle gave me storybooks that I absolutely loved, among the books fantastic beasts and where to find them was the best one. I had yet to unlock my magical core, so I can't still do magic but I am sucking in everything the books have to offer.

It'd been two months since I was at the hospital. I am finally getting released today, apparently, the wound on my leg was more severe than I thought. My aunt stayed and took care of me the whole time, uncle also visited as much as he could. He had work to do so he could not visit or stay with me often, for which he genuinely felt bad. I was happy that they were kind enough to think about me and take care of me.

In these two months, I have finished 32 books, which shocked my aunt and uncle, as they couldn't believe someone could finish these books in such a short amount of time. After this, my aunt would start to talk about how brilliant and intelligent I was to whoever she met, those were the most embracing moments of my life. I would rather eat bell peppers which I absolutely loath every day than experience this. "Hey, Ed, I just got your release documents, lets go your aunt is probably getting impatient by now". I laughed at the thought, she left in the morning to cook a feast for my recovery, she would probably send both of us to the hospital if we made her wait. I shuddered at that thought, I never want to be in the receiving end of her wrath. My aunt can be dangerous when she wants to be.

"Where are we going, don't we have to go through the ministries floo network?". "We are going to apparate to our house". I have read that it's an advanced spell used by strong wizards to travel distances. I just can't wait to try all the magic, a sudden realization hit me I still don't know where in Uganda my uncle lives, so I decided to ask him. "Where exactly do you live in Uganda uncle?". He smirked at that and gave me a 'you will see when you get there' look. So, all I could do now was wait in patience.

He came back with all the potions and medicines prescribed by the hospital and asked me to follow him. He told me to get ready, I nodded and he grabbed me and appariated to a ship, a large ship. All I could see was the clear ocean and a beautiful blue sky surrounding us. It was the most beautiful scenery I had ever seen. Uncle looked at me with a smirk and told me we will reach Uganda within two days. I was standing in shock for some time it was a lot to take in, I had never been to a sea before or a ship as beautiful as this. The ship looked majestic, it looked perfect. I asked uncle what the name of the ship was, he gave a proud smile and told me, "this baby here is my pride and joy and I have named it Amphitrite, the goddesses of seas"
