Becoming an Online Mage (2): Assassin.

There are currently five alternatives as a Mage that is revealed to Allyn, and he is having a hard time choosing which one he would like to become.

Along with the options, there are also character examples shown to represent all types of mages on the list, along with their functions and capabilities.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS!

[1] SABER:

A Mage who is more skilled in using swords or blades of any kind. These classes are quite superior in dexterity but are not very favorable when faced with a Berserker, especially an Archer.

[2] ARCHER:

A Mage that is skilled in the use of all kinds of range attacks, certainly a formidable persona. As you may have guessed, close combats are not its strong suit. Particularly, a Lancer or a Caster would be a grim march. If a Saber catches up to it... That's even worse.

[3] LANCER

Spear-like weapons are the character's specialty. This is a good way to keep your opponents at arm's length, which would, of course, put them at a disadvantage.

... A Caster is its biggest nemesis, so you're still not invisible.

[4] CASTER

A Sorcerer should be the best way to describe this class. They have access to all kinds of techniques, or at least, most kind. This, of course, may classify them as the strongest among the others, which, in a sense, they are... All of that will change when faced with a Berserker.

[5] ASSASSIN

A Mage superior in stealth and quick attacks, it possesses the same functions as a Saber but a more amplified version of it and is a bad opponent against every other class due to its adaptability to all kinds of weapons from range attacks or close combats, whatever is necessary to take down its target.

...All Mage classes are the character's weak point once its stealth move gets exposed.

[5] BERSERKER

A characteristic that gives you outstanding physical prowess and speed. You would become a deadly foe who is solely meant to destroy and bring everything down to the ground.

However, this powerful character isn't quite agile but can make do with its superior endurance and speed.

A Saber is a problematic enemy to have due to its superior agility and an Assassin might be worse, cus it has even higher agility... I guess he isn't invisible either.

Every characteristic has its weak point no matter what you decide to go with.

The Berserker seems like the strongest among them. However, the lack of agility gives Allyn a reason to reconsider his thinking.

He has come to appreciate the advantage he would have against an opponent with lower deftness. It is thanks to the suit's superior dexterity he could fight three opponents at the same, and it also contributed to the reason he is still alive.

Being an assassin sounds like the best choice since it has superior agility, even more than the Saber. The act of killing an enemy before they could notice your presence is also a recommended ability to acquire.

After making the right analysis, Allyn chose to become an assassin as he clicks on the word; ASSASSIN.

Allyn felt his strength increasing noticeably. He has certainly evolved as a Mage. A strapped sword and two long daggers also appeared, automatically hanged by his side. This isn't too surprising, not to him at least.

He may have finally started his journey as a Mage but he is still too weak to be of any use and is fully aware of that.

Putting on his shirt, Allyn finally steps outside right after he had stored only his sword in his in-game storage. There, he met CrockFace sitting at what seems to be a dining table.

"Hey, Allyn, you're back," CrockFace greeted him while still devouring a slice of meat in his mouth. "Come join me," he added.

Allyn walks over and sat down. "Where is this place exactly?" he asked.

"The inner part of my home," CrockFace replied.

"Is everything located underground?"

"Exactly," says CrockFace, "I am not the outgoing type, most of my time is spent under the ground,"

"Isn't that boring?"

"It is lonely, that's for sure, but I can't help it," says CrockFace.

Allyn knows how that fills, so he kept quiet...

"It's one reason I created those robots as a companion. I love creating new things. It gives me a purpose,"

"Yeah, I know how that feels," Allyn said.

An AI robot brought Allyn's food through a flask and drops it on the table.

["Here you go,"] It said and walks away.

"I never said thank you for saving my life," Allyn said while eating.

"It's no big deal. It is a kind of my fault you got in that situation,"

"I don't see it that way. Your mecha_suit kept me alive. That is also thanks to you," says Allyn.

His words secretly made CrockFace quite happy. I guess it's rare to come across good comments such as that.

Glaring at Allyn, CrockFace had a slight frown on his face, like he had noticed something that wasn't always there.

"You've evolved, haven't you?" he said.

"Oh, yeah, I have," says Allyn in reply. "I have to get back to my world no matter what it takes," he added.

"Get back to your world?"

"It is complicated,"

CrockFace had a thoughtful look on his face…

"Are you perhaps from a distant universe?" he asked.

"Yeah, if you put it that way,"

"Wow, I've heard stories about humans visiting our world from a different universe but never got to see one myself,"

"Trust me, they are more commonly seen than you could ever imagine," says Allyn.

It's kind of weird seeing himself as a human from another universe, but it seems this is how it is viewed over here.

"They say you guys are immortals. Is that true?" CrockFace still has an elevated interest.

"Immortal?" Allyn did not see this coming.

On second thought, that's exactly what it sounds like, or at least, what it used to be.

CrockFace must be talking about how players revive whenever they die, as is typical for a game world. Allyn finds this quite amusing, but remembering he could no longer revive but will end up dead for real gives him shivers.

Since CrockFace may not understand the complicated part of the story, Allyn goes with the flow.

"We used to be immortal, but not anymore," Allyn said.

"What happened?"

"We humans from a different universe are always connected to our worlds, which helps with our revival whenever we die. However, minutes before the Titans broke through the walls, I noticed that I had lost connection to my planet, thus, I lost_"

"_The ability to revive," CrockFace completed Allyn's words. His facial expression gave off how he feels at the very moment; sympathy.

"So, what's your plan now? Is there a way to get back home?"

"There is one way to do so," says Allyn. He paused for a moment... "I have to take down the current Lord of Titans," he added.

"What!!" CrockFace exclaimed, "That's highly impossible!!"

"With my current strength, yes it is,"

"No, you don't understand. Lord Damien is a god, you can't take him down,"

"Damien? is that his name or should I say her name?"

"You're not listening, are you? Taking on the Lord is very hard, perhaps almost impossible,"

"So you're saying there is a chance?" Allyn asked.

CrockFace shakes his head in frustration. Allyn is still bent on doing this, which he finds quite crazy.

"Acquire the title as a Titan-Slayer, that's the best way if you are to have a chance against Damien," CrockFace said in a very serious tone.

"How do I become a Titan Slayer?"

"You'll have to single-handedly slaughter a King-Titan and feed on the blood or core. The more of them you kill, the powerful you become. This will grant you the ability as a slayer and if you're lucky enough, you will attain abilities that would be of good use to you,"

"Slaughter a King-Titan?" Allyn thoughtfully mumbles to himself.

"Please don't even think of going against them as you are right now. You don't even stand a chance when faced with the weakest creatures, King-Titan is a title given to creatures who outstandingly stand out among every living being... Except for the Lord himself," CrockFace quickly gave a quick warning before Allyn makes any rash decisions that would just get him killed.

"Don't worry, as someone who has experienced near-death, I don't plan on doing anything stupid," says Allyn.

Allyn finished his meal and is satisfied. He then remembers something almost immediately...

Scrolling through his interface, he pulled out the Mega Gun he had snatched from Buttcheek a while ago.

"Here, I got this back," he said as he handed it to CrockFace.

"Where did you pull it out from?" CrockFace was astonished by Allyn's display.

Of course, in this world, NPCs don't have the in-game storage as he does. Looks like he will need to be more careful when doing stuff like this.

"It's a special ability," says Allyn, hoping that would be enough.

"I see..."

"For how long have I been unconscious?"

"Two days," says CrockFace in reply.

"That long!"

"I was hoping I could stay here with you, well at least, until I find a place of my own," Allyn muster up the courage to say this since CrockFace looks like someone who isn't very fond of having visitors.

"But no worries, I'll be paying for my stay, and I certainly won't get in your way... If that's ok with you," says Allyn in addition.

"Don't worry about the rent. You are free to stay with me as long as you want,"

"For real? Without rent?"

"Why, did you think I would kick you out?"

"Hahaha, my bad,"

It felt peaceful here, and Allyn is happy to stay...
