Meeting Cosmo

Allyn's first destination is a long way from here. The possible dangers in the way make it even worse. That's one reason the game system had raised the experience point one would gain for completing any quest.

Also, when he makes it to the tenth level as a player, he would also receive coins along with experience points whenever he completes a quest.

"Mutant Fowl as it is called is located very close to a small city that is colonized by a clan of Aves called the SkyCruel," CrockFace said, "You should be careful around these birds, they are not friendly, trust me on that one,"

"I understand,"

In an instant, Allyn's clothes got replaced by a dark attire; "Until I return," he stepped out...

Allyn's first task is to find a friend of CrockFace named Cosmo. This person supposedly has a few connections that would be quite useful to him.

As a new Mage, Allyn needed recognition in the city as this would earn him more jobs which in turn, involves money. This is where Cosmo comes in.

For a little background check, Cosmo is a human, if you know what I mean. He is an innkeeper or hotel keeper in the modern way of saying so. However, for an ordinary inn manager, he is quite famous and feared by everyone.

Cosmo has an elder brother called Delano, and he is a knight who works at the Lord Tower that's at the center of the city. This is exactly one reason Cosmo became so famous.

However, this doesn't explain why Allyn needs his help...

RailWall kingdom is among the most powerful cities on the continent, with smaller colonies outside the city. Along with that power comes great responsibility, which sometimes involves rendering help to other cities or kingdoms. This is where groups of mages who form a guild come in.

Guilds must go out on missions representing the kingdoms and the guilds from which they are from. This is one of the major ways they earn a living, which gives both their organization and nation a good name.

Allyn hasn't joined a guild yet and has no intention of doing so anytime soon. He is among the very few who are known as Solo-Mage.

Working alone, however, produces fewer quests to do. There are limited missions that can be completed by one person. Nobody has faith in Solo-Mages and wouldn't want them doing anything for them or the kingdom.

With Cosmo's help, Allyn hopes he could find a suitable adventure for himself. He plans on completing two quests, one of which is the very first quest given to him by Wellington.

"This must be it,"

He stepped into an inn, one that looks similar to where he should find the so-called Cosmo. The cheerful noises of drunkards resounded multiple times within the inn, but his presence still attracted a little attention.

"What can I help you with," says an attendant to Allyn. She is a little alarmed by his dress code, especially the creepy mask.

"Take me to Cosmo," Allyn's voice sounded deep, which, of course, is to add to his terrifying presence. It is an added effect by CrockFace.

"Who are you to give orders to my workers?" A much deeper voice came to Allyn's earshot, and for a slight sec, this scared him a bit.

Allyn expected Cosmo to be an enormous man with a terrifying facial figure… This person, however, is small. His facial figure is still scary, and he posses quite the muscle.

…But a sturdy muscle on this short man is a hilarious sight (just saying).

"You must be Cosmo,"

"I ask one more time... Who are you?" there is a little hostility emitted by the short man now.

Allyn hasn't thought of a name yet and he could not just tell them his actual name. All his attempts to keep his identity a secret will be a colossal waste.

"I am known as Shadow," says Allyn in reply.

"Why are you here?" Cosmo already has a terrible impression of Allyn, so things aren't going well for him.

"CrockFace, a friend of yours sent me," says Allyn, a.k.a Shadow.

"CrockFace?" The short man's hostility reduced a bit as he scans Allyn with his eyes, "What business do you have with me?"

"I thought CrockFace has briefed you ahead of my arrival_"

"Answer the question,"

"To get registered as a Solo-Mage of RailWall kingdom, I am hoping you can help me with that," says Allyn in reply.

"Tsh!" Cosmo snorts.

He is reluctant in helping Allyn, but with CrockFace involved in this, he has no other choice.

"We may have started on a wrong foot, but I do hope we get along,"

Allyn could sense Cosmo's reluctance... He meant half of what he just said.

Cosmo gave the attendant a meaningful look, telling her to go continue what she was doing. He will take care of this...

"Solo-Mage huh," he said, "Come with me then,"

Allyn followed right behind him as they head outside. Thankfully, Cosmo has a car. Though it isn't very good-looking, it is a vehicle nonetheless and can only accommodate two individuals.

They are heading to one of the largest buildings in the city known as the W.G.Q (World Guild Quest). This is the largest Mage organization in the kingdom and is also where the major quests are delivered before they are distributed to other guild branches, hence the name.

"I must say, being a solo-mage comes with a lot of setbacks," says Cosmo while on their way, "There is no guarantee you will find a satisfying quest to earn a reasonable amount of Spirit Stones,"

"Spirit Stones?" Allyn had no idea what those are.

GAMEPEDIA: SPIRIT STONES.

Spirit Stones is an accepted currency on the continent and are more valuable. A single Spirit Stone is equivalent to several RailWall coins...

"You don't know what a Spirit Stone is?" Cosmo looked quite surprised at this.

"I know now," says Allyn.

"Good, cus that would be one of the strangest things I've ever heard," says Cosmo, "Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, there is a possibility you may need to team up with other adventurers who are taking quest outside of their guild. You might even find other solo-mage like yourself and team up with them also,"

"What about the pay?" Allyn still doesn't like the sound of teaming with other people, especially if he's going to share the earnings with them.

"The greedy type, huh?" Cosmo mumbles.

"Of course, the earnings will be shared between you guys. What did you think?" says Cosmo.

"..." Allyn gave no reply, but he secretly hopes he finds a suitable quest that can be handled by himself alone.

Finally arriving at their destination, Allyn was greeted by the sight of an astonishingly tall building. Without a doubt, this must be the W.G.Q. The stairs leading to the entrance are quite a long journey, and of course, this is a busy place.

Taking a few steps closer to the stairs of the building, he received a few curious gazes from close-by parties. But I'm guessing this should be normal since he's a stranger around here.

"Be careful with whom you make acquaintance with," Cosmo silently spoke to Allyn as they take the stairs.

"It's one reason I am masked," says Allyn. His deep voice makes him sound cool...

"Good," Cosmo nodded in approval.

CrockFace had prepared Allyn for all of this ahead of time, and this added to his new character.
