More Reptiles?

*Bang!! Bang!! Bang!!*

The huge Armor_Crock tried to smack Allyn using its bulky tail, but he avoided getting beat.

*ROOAAARRR!!*

*Pow!!*

Unable to react as quick, the Mecha_suit got smacked, and he was sent flying many distances away. However, after crashing multiple times, Allyn stayed on his feet.

"It is tough," Allyn mumbles.

The Armor_Crock fixed its killer eyes at its target and will stop at nothing to take this person down.

The tough scales make it very problematic to inflict satisfying damage since 70 points out of every attack are absorbed. Allyn could only stand his ground thanks to the suit, which makes him a complete nobody without it.

This, however, isn't how Diesel views it. His eyes shone in astonishment as he watched Allyn's battle with the otherworldly being. Though all he is doing is running from one place to the other while trying to fend off this beast.

"Go for the eyes!!" Diesel said at the top of his voice.

"Exactly,"

Allyn leaps back and kept a safe distance. "Let's see how you would fare without this," he muttered.

His suit opens up, revealing multiple revolvers, and out of them, energy blasts shot out and blow up the creature's eyesight.

*Groowwlll!!*

Unbelievable pain struck the beast, and this was made clear with its violent roar as it keeps tumbling around.

"Sorry about this,"

Allyn shot at its eyes again and again and again. He kept on with this while ignoring its agonizing growls.

No matter how tough this creature might be, once one of its weak points had been exposed, Allyn will exploit it.

"That should keep you down," Said Allyn as he deactivated the Mecha_Suit. He has given up on killing it. That is unnecessary anyway.

"It is going to die!!" Diesel exclaimed.

"That's better,"

"Didn't you say that killing a creature in the Skycruel's territory is forbidden?"

Allyn widened his eyes as he recalls that...

"Crap!" he said, "I got carried away."

While navigating the unknown land, Baron, Claudex, and Cassius, fortunately, found each other.

"What about the others?" Cassius asked.

"We'll find them," Baron said. "We'll find them in one piece," he added.

The grunt of Armor_Crock came to their hearing. It doesn't seem to head their way, but it is most likely chasing after something or someone.

"Could that be?"

"It most likely is, and as much as I don't want to do this, we go that way," said Baron.

They all followed his lead without complaints and ran in the direction from which that terrific sound came.

However, by the time they arrived, they found an Armor_Crock in a pitiful state. Its eyes had been damaged beyond repair.

"I'm finding this hard to take in," Cassius said.

"That both of them could put this creature in such a state..."

"Looks like we might have underestimated Diesel,"

"Nah... this couldn't be Diesel's doing. However, that disguised Mage seems capable of this."

"Either way, it's a good thing we have him on our side. Our jobs aren't the bright one either,"

'So it died?' Allyn thought to himself. 'At least I got something out of it,'

Hours went by, but fortunately, the team found each other at long last. Everyone is in one piece, just as Baron had hoped.

"Where are we headed now?" Allyn asked.

"Our next destination is called; Serpent Mountain," Baron said.

"Why do I feel shivers?"

"Well, that's because these places is overflowing with an endless number of Snakes... gigantic snakes to be more precise,"

"Not again." Cassius isn't looking forward to this.

"I hate reptiles," he said.

"That is understandable. You almost got chopped by one. However, we will be very careful this time to prevent any of this from repeating itself,"

"We have bigger problems on our hands," Claudex said with her attention looking up at the sky.

. . .

"Did you find anything?"

"Nothing out of the ordinary,"

The news about a potential criminal had been spread out among the Skycruel clans. Two of them are surveying an assigned area given in their care.

These guards are yet to find anything suspicious... well, except for the dead Armor_Crock they came across seconds ago.

"Keep watching... There must be an unwanted visitor in our land, I'm sure of that," says the Ave.

"Our cover has been blown," Allyn said with his eyes fixed to the sky.

"Seems like it," says Baron, "We'll have to change course if we are to avoid getting caught by them."

They stayed in hiding until the Ave was out of sight before slowly showing their faces...

"The bad news is that the alternative route will still lead to the Snake Mountain,"

"I think I'm gonna quit being a mercenary after this mission is concluded," says Diesel. "It's too much work,"

"That's a discussion for another day... We should start by making it out alive," Cassius said.

"Keep to the tree-laden area and we'll be good,"

Swiftly, they all quickly dart across an area filled with huge shades. This will keep them hidden as long as those intelligent birds don't decide to fly downward.

"This is it," Baron said.

The look on his face made it seem like he was not sure either.

"Is this it?" Claudex took notice of his expression.

"...Yeah... according to the Map, this must be it,"

"You don't seem very sure,"

"I can't find any of them,"

"The snakes?"

"Yeah, those,"

"They might be in hiding... just like a predator would," Allyn said while roaming his eyes.

His words put them all on their guard as they plodded onward, yet there was nothing. They got even further into the so-called Snake Mountain and the next sight froze them on their feet.

"Are they all as big as that?"

In a very spacious and shallow stream, a super-enormous serpent lazily lays down in circles with its head buried in between its circled body. The size of this creature is equivalent to that of a skyscraper, maybe even more.

"Of all the places, that thing just had to stay there," Baron is feeling quite frustrated.

"Please don't tell us that thing is on our path,"

"Yeah, that's the only way to our destination... the same place that reptile is resting in between,"

"We should return. There is no way we are making it back alive if that thing comes after us," Diesel suggested.

"My guts are telling me the same thing. This creature is on a whole different level compared to the Armor_Crock," Cassius said.

"No, we've come this far. Turning back is not an option,"

"Yeah, of course, that's what you'll say,"

"We'll need to get it out of there, and one way to do that is by attracting its attention," Claudex said and then gazed straight at Diesel.

"Diesel, this is where you come in," she said.

"Huh??" Diesel's face twitched once he heard that.

"Those explosive arrows of yours will be very helpful,"

"Yeah, make yourself useful,"

"You guys are finally trying to get rid of me,"

"If we wanted to get rid of you, we would," Baron admitted, "But we need your help,"

"So what's gonna happen if it comes after me?"

"I'll come with you," Baron volunteered. "We'll get it off our trail,"

"No, I'll do it. You guys should stay behind," said Claudex.

The team's willingness to help boost Diesel's morals.

"Alright, I'll do it," Diesel, for the first time, is giving off an encouraging vibe.

Turning his attention to Allyn, Cassius, and Baron, he said; "You guys should move aside so that it doesn't come after you once I get its attention,"

Nodding in agreement, they all stayed away from Diesel and Claudex.

"You've got this," Claudex whispered to Diesel.

Taking a deep breath, Diesel pulled out his arrow and bow and then locks on his target.
