New Dungeon

It was daytime in a battered and destroyed city, four figures could be seen sneaking through the streets carefully as they maneuvered through demolished shops and packed roads.

"Empty again, shit those raiders didn't even leave a little bit for us" Rash complained as we searched a convenience store only to find it empty, it had been ransacked to the bone, this was almost the 10th store we had searched and up till now we didn't have any luck.

"Well I have to say that I didn't expect much" I replied with a sigh as I observed our surroundings while thinking over the events of the past few days since we left the hospital, we had been updated on how things would work now, to summarize it all, if we wanted to survive we had to get stronger to protect ourselves from the varying threats to our lives and to get stronger, we can either kill the creatures around us to level up or enter a dungeon, if we beat the dungeon then we level up, we don't then we die, that's what was happening presently.

"Growl" The low growl of a zombie sounded as we all tensed up and dashed into the corner and waited, we watched as a zombie with only one arm staggered from the alleyway.

"Tahsa you take this one" I said as Tasha nodded and drew her gun before taking in a deep breath and then releasing it as she aimed at the head of the zombie and grabbed the gun tightly before holding her breath, she positioned the gun perfectly then pressed the trigger.

BANG

The sound of a gunshot echoed as the zombie fell lifelessly to the ground which immediately garnered a series of cheers from the girls who giggled happily.

"You've gotten better, that's nice" I praised with a grin as we walked to the body where Rash crouched before placing taking out his dagger and stabbing it into the head of the zombie before he placed his hand within and fumbled inside searching for something.

"Still nothing" Rash said with frustration as he took out his hands and wiped the blood off them.

"Well that settles it then, we've officially run out of luck" I muttered as we all sighed before continuing our journey.

"This place is really creepy" Rash remarked as we walked through the streets of a certain city.

HOOT

A loud sound echoed above us as we saw a large patch of darkness swoop past us, we could see the large shadow which was as large as a huge bus.

"Shit duck!" I yelled as we all ducked behind a car to escape the prying eyes of the humongous Owl.

"Is it gone?" Rash asked after we had stayed hidden for some time.

"Stay low and let me check" I said as I slowly raised myself to peep if the area was safe.

"Fuck…we're fucked" I said as I quickly shot downwards with sweat pouring down my face, I quickly gestured for the others to stay quiet as I gestured for Rash to take a look cautiously.

"Uff.." After peeping, Rash almost exclaimed in shock but grabbed his mouth in time to let out a muffled scream, as I heard this, my eyes opened wide in shock as I grabbed my gun subconsciously and made a sign for the rest to stay put, I slowly crept on the ground trying my best to make no noise as I lay on the ground and peeped under the car, I was relieved when I didn't see anything, I got up and was about to declare that the coast was clear when I heard a creak above us, I froze as I slowly looked up.

"ROARRR" The roar of a huge zombie dog sounded as I aimed at it and pulled the trigger.

BANG BANG BANG

"GRRRR" Three shots rang out as the annoyed sound of the zombie dog reached my ears, it seemed like one of my bullets had struck the eye of the dog so making use of its temporary distraction, we quickly shot through the streets like mice running from a cat.

"Fuck just keep running" I said as we ran through the streets at top speed, eager to escape our deaths at the hand of the zombie dog which was hot on our tail.

"We can't outrun it, we'll be caught sooner or later" Rash said as he huffed tiredly.

"We need to get shelter now, quick follow me" I replied as I turned around and fired three more shots which missed obviously but it was only meant to stall it for a bit as I rushed toward a dilapidated house that was looking better than the rest and had a door.

"It's open" I said excitedly as I realized that the door wasn't locked, we quickly filed in as I slammed the door shut just in time for the dog to slam into it.

BANG

"The door's not going to hold" Tasha shouted as she caught her breath.

"We need to find something to block it with" I said as I looked around and spotted a large cabinet.

"Quick Rash help me" I said to Rash as we quickly dragged it to block the door.

"Whew" I sighed in relief as I slid along the wall to the ground with exhaustion.

"Ding"

[Dungeon detected, do you wish to enter]

[Yes/No]

"A dungeon finally" I smiled after seeing the prompt, we had been anxiously searching for a single dungeon over the past few days but we didn't find any, we had weighed our pros and con's before deciding to take the risk.

"Are you guys ready for this?" I asked with a grin.

"Ready as we've ever been" Christina replied with a serious expression.

"It's either that or get chewed by a hungry bloodthirsty zombie dog, so yeah we're ready" Rash shrugged as he glanced towards the door which was getting weaker and weaker after being hit by the dog so much, even the cabinet was only providing a temporary defense against the inevitable.

"Well then, here we go" I said as I replied to the prompt, a bright light covered us before we all vanished, and as soon as we did, the darkness behind us warped slightly as a figure appeared, the figure looked around before it also vanished.

"Urrrg" Rash and the girls grabbed their stomachs as he bent over and retched, the feeling of traveling through space wasn't something they were used to, as for me, I only felt a slight feeling of uneasiness before it disappeared.

"Stay on high alert, we are in the dungeon" I prompted as I grabbed my gun, my eyes turning serious as I observed the surroundings.

"Where is this?" Rash asked as he noticed that we were on another street that was different from the one that we were on previously.

"I don't know but something feels strange, it's too quiet, follow me" I said with a frown as my senses warned me of something ominous approaching.

As we walked through the empty streets that didn't even have the body of a single zombie, we noticed that the streets were different from the ones we were used to, there wasn't a single car too, all this threw us off.

"What does that sign say?" Christina asked as she pointed at a board that was hanging from a building.

"I think it says, 'Curfew: 7 pm', what does that mean?" I asked myself as I read the sigh.

"Yeah Dom I think we need to get some shelter" Rash said as his eyes scanned the shops.

"Over here" Tasha called as she looked through one of the shops, we walked over to the shop and noticed that it was empty so we tried to open the door but it was locked so we had to force our way in.

"Rash and Tasha, you guys find something to use to block the door, Christina and I will check if the shop's safe" I said as the rest nodded then Christina and I turned around, I turned on my torch and grabbed my gun as we ventured deep into the shop to see if there was any danger.

"This shit is antique, is this an antique shop" I commented as I saw all the 90's items piled in a corner, I used my torch to search around and I finally found a light switch.

"Even the light switch is antique, what's with this setting" Christina said with a frown after setting her eyes on the light switch.

"Maybe the person is a fan of the 90s" I replied with a shrug as I turned on the light causing the room to light on.

"Hey, you guys found anything?" Rash asked as he and Tasha walked into the room.

"Yeah a bunch of old, useless shit, what about you guys" I sighed as I looked around.

"We blocked off the exit with an old shelf, wow this shit is like the late 80s" Tasha said excitedly.

"How do you know?" Rash asked curiously.

"None of your business" Tasha replied with a snort.

"She has a thing for the 80's" Christina said with a chuckle.

"Noted" Rash said with a wide grin.

"I mean for someone to have so much antique shit, it's a little bit suspicious, could that person have been an artifact collector?" I asked with confusion as I glanced at a paper on the ground, as I bent down to pick it up, my eyes turned wide with shock.

"I think I might know why everything is so old" I said as I raised the paper, the others gathered around to see what I was talking about.

"What? A newspaper" Rash said with confusion.

"Look at the date" I said pointing at the date at the top of the newspaper.

"What….30th September 1888.." Christina read with shock.

"Now read the headlines" I motioned towards the striking headlines.

"Unknown Killer famously known as Jack the ripper strikes again…" Tasha read as we all stared at the newspaper speechlessly, for some strange and fucked up reason.

"It would seem that we might have traveled back in time, to the time of Jack The Reaper, England's nightmare during the 1880's" I said as the other gazed at me in severe shock.
