Chapter 7: The Business Trip

Ellie's POV

Technically we're currently sitting in the most accidentally prone region of this conductor.

And they say being rich gives you a lavish life. I say- what about 'safe'?

Not that we can be hit by lightning because charges don't flow inside a conductor. It is rather because when most plane crashes occur, it's the cockpit and the midsection that blows off first. Even a two piece equipment like a black box, that is neither black nor a box rather an arrangement of two cylinders, is usually found in the tail of the aircraft- where they are more likely to survive a crash.

No, I'm still fairly behind the verge of insanity, thank you very much!

But a twelve hour journey does that to an individual when left sleepless with a fast Wi-Fi.

This physical stuff is freaking interesting!

Being seated in a private plane which obviously belonged to the almighty, Divyansh Singh Grover, I'm just left to scroll through my Quora feed and now after doing so much research, I 'think' I can land on a decent score in engineering.

As for the other living beings sitting in this conductor, it's a rather boring tale to tell.

Minaxshi is seated opposite of me, though an eerie silence still prevails.

Maybe it's because of the fact that almost a week has gone by, and we're still not on talking terms.

I tried reaching out to Humaid about the matter but he was just as clueless as me. We were seated together and time and again caught Minaxshi glaring our way. I was so confused with her behavior, worried about it even.

She used to share everything with me and now we're just like a boss and an employee. Of course I don't mind, for she never promised a family when she hired me for the job.

However, losing a very good friend of yours without even a reason is just well, unnerving.

Even so, I did try thinning out the dense atmosphere that outscouted the ambience of the plane all for it to be rendered useless. She would simply ignore me whenever I tried to hit up a conversation.

No one seemed to be in the mood to talk. Not that we were really talking since the time we boarded.

Humaid was already long asleep and Minaxshi had made it very clear by her actions. As for that ghost sitting diagonally opposite of me, the question was simply... ruled out.

I had done a tremendous job at watching three movies back to back, completed all songs on my favourite playlist and now I was really starting to get irritated.

Never had I ever sat still for so long.

I felt my back and legs cramping as I tried adjusting to a new position, which was likely to change after another thirty seconds. I just wanted to get off of the damn thing.

About an hour later, we finally landed and it wasn't something new as I saw a few men in black approaching us from a distance while we got out. Of course they must be his drivers or so.

And just like that we sat in a black limo and drove to one of his hotels.

Needless to say, the journey was once again filled with a mourning silence. I have a feeling, nagging me at the back of my mind that this so called 'trip' was indeed going to be a trip for me- a trip where in I may end up banging my head on any wall I happened to spot around me.

I don't know how I'm going to survive here.

Reaching the hotel, each one of us tired and cracked from the long, dreaded flight, were assigned our separate rooms.

And as soon as I entered my suite, I was left flabbergasted.

Never in my life had I seen such sheer luxury. It was almost ludicrous.

My suite opened into a sitting room. Golden brown curtains matched in perfection with the dark brown, mahogany furniture occupying central position in the room imparting it a golden hew, like that of a royal palace.

The fragrance, so comforting, lit my entire little blanket of dream with a sense of euphoria like it has been essentially sprayed with endorphins to potentially hypnotise its residents but incredibly relaxed at the same time.

I was well aware of this trick, after all I've been in such ambience for quite a period of my life.

This silence, was however oozing positively contrasting to the sexual tension that hung low in the air in the sphere of life that I'd previously known.

The warmth from the far corner onto my right gave away the fact that there was a fireplace in my suite. A coffee table placed in between two big sofa chairs, sat quietly in its own elegant comfort, completing the small set up.

Strolling further inside, a door opened, leading me to the bedroom.

A queen sized bed, swallowed up by the red silk and red velvet bedsheets sat magistically right at the center of the room. With curtains draped all around it, I felt like I was a princess at some movie set.

A glass window stood tall, covering an entire wall on one side of the bed, covered yet again with curtains of red and black.

'What's with red everywhere?'

I mean I don't mind it because it's my favorite color but... isn't it a bit weird?

I drew the curtains aside and the hustling of the city lights came into the view.

Continuing my exploration, there was a glass door on one side of the wall attached to the window. It opened into the balcony, giving a great view of the back garden a few storeys down my suite.

I drew the curtains and noticing my yet to be unpacked luggage had already arrived, I decided to arrange my clothes in the closet.

It was only when I slid the door open a small gasp escaped past my lips. A walk-in closet standing right in front of me stalked with robes and other necessities.

Needless to say it was again a combination of red and black meeting my eyes.

Hmm... Mr. Divyansh Singh Grover, I must say, I'm impressed!

I felt myself getting excited. In my past life I had never seen such comfort or luxury surrounding me.

Belonging to a middle class family, my parents provided us with all they could. It was never over the top but more than enough for all three of us. We were all doing good until I decided to take a stand and...

Well... It's all in the past anyway and I shouldn't think about it now.

Setting up my clothes, shoes and other stuff in proper order meanwhile grabbing a change of clothes I went inside the bathroom for a long relaxing bath.

The bathroom yet again didn't disobey my expectations. A Jacuzzi sat, ever so gracefully right at the center of the bathroom, covered with glass doors.

A freaking music system was installed in the bath. Decorative candles left the bathroom set alive in a romantic atmosphere. Smell of rose petals hit my olfactory indicators as I spotted roses in the tub and in the surrounding stands were kept, for the sole purpose of decoration, some lit scented candles.

Woah, this is my dream!

Peeling off my clothes I got into the bath turning the water slightly hotter than my own skin. Playing with different and extremely good smelling bath bombs and colourful bubbles surrounding me, I felt like I was in heaven.

Feeling the jet lag leaving my sore muscles, a sense of pure bliss encompassing my soul and with hair dripping wet, I walked out.

Draping a white towel onto my naked body, I started dancing to the beat of Can we Dance by The Vamps followed by You make me wanna by Blue.

I heard the doorbell ring that was soon followed by urgent door knocks.

Good gracious I'm nowhere near the decent state of being seen.

So nervous, I just stood there.

The knocks turned into banging and I ran.
