The Visitors

Today, she has three visitors instead of the usual one. Two of her new visitors are standing behind the usual one.

The usual visitor is Konrad Alexanders, The Alexanders Family Head, the young looking old man. He sat across her in his usual place in his usual uniform and usual poker face. The clothes he always wore were black with blue and white linings in different styles with a blue crystal pin in its collar.

One of the two new visitors, had been staring intently at her since he stepped foot in the room. She met him previously and gave her a brief trip to a snowy mountain. His tattoos in his cheeks and temples accentuate his strong features. He looks identical to his father except for the grey hair. He is wearing the same dark colored cloak she remembers.

'Uncomfortable.'

The second visitor is wearing his hood up and his gaze is glued on the floor. His face is almost not visible. She can see the fairly white skin and pointy tip of his nose. He might also have the perfect fair skin but his lips are cracked and there are fresh wounds in his lips.

"Drink your chocolate." Konrad interrupted her thoughts.

"Oh. It's not tea?" She perked up and Konrad smirked. She then realized the drink obviously smelled of cocoa. She frowned on how dumb she may have sound.

"No it's not." Konrad reassured with a soft voice.

'It's usually tea, why chocolate now?' She asks internally as she rotates the handle of the cup to her left, lifts it carefully and takes a sip.

'Ah. It's not bitter'

"These two are my sons. You already met my oldest, Theo and next the other one is Gio, my second born. They both can understand and speak your language. " Konrad finished the introduction in one go.

"They are the ones who saved you." He continued.

"Thank you for saving me and Luna" she bow respectfully to them.

She heard one of them click his tongue and when she looked up Theo was frowning like he was disgusted at her expression of gratitude and the other one was looking somewhere far away and mumbling something in the air.

'Why are they so hostile?'

"Enou---"

" I don't have much now but I plan on repaying you" She opened the inventory. Konrad's sons tense up and flexibly step their other foot behind. Blue and white sparks dance around them. She pulls two Medium Healing Potions out of her inventory and places them on the table.

She gives a forced smile while grinding her molars inside.

"This is all I can provide for now." Of Course a lie.

"Please consider this as an installment of repaying your kindness. I plan on giving back everything I and Luna received." Another lie, she gave up precious resources that were never included in her plans.

"A healing potion?" Konrad asked.

"Yes."

"If you have that, why didn't you use it yourself?"

If she says she is saving it for emergency purposes it will make her gesture of gratitude look like decided on a wimp, which is the truth. She is obviously being hated right now by the people that saved her.

"I plan on giving this to my saviors." Lies. lies . lies

"Am I not your savior?"

"Ack---- you are an . . . a . . a gracious host to me. I will . . . find a way to repay you someday." that came out awkward.

Anyone can tell that was a lie. She didn't think about repaying him at all.

'That didn't cross my mind. How self centered.' She is amused at her thick face.

"I see, then in that case we will receive your gratitude. Gio."

" Yes father." The hooded man, Gio, lifted his hands and the potions at the table elevated in the air. He waves his hand in the air lightly making the potions disappear.

"Then let's continue our discussion from yesterday."

Her focus returned to Konrad's face.

"In return for the code, I will help you with the Monster Forest and give the Forest's Map"

She notices a slight change in Theo's face. He was frowning earlier now his face is crumpled in a scary way.

"You are a deadweight and we have our own map. Useless offer." Theo answered while his father quietly sipped his tea. She felt the snapping of her nerves at his strong comment.

"If I survive alone in that forest, I can do it again. Is your map better than mine?" She came out strong at him. Following Konrad's actions yesterday her intuition says her map is valuable.

This is a war of nerves. She was ready to give in for another deal if they demanded it. She was not expecting a welcoming attitude but The fact they are not hiding their hostility since earlier makes her want to act up too.

"Arrogance can kill."

"More than arrogance, I say it's stupidity. For days I ate nothing but poisonous fruits but it still didn't kill me."

Theo grimaced at her words while Korad remained unfazed.

'Did he already know?' She thought it was impossible for her to see what Konrad was thinking.

"There are traces of cooked meat at the lair. . . weren't you and your wolf eating it?" Gio butt in.

It's true that she ate meat but that's the first and last time. She cannot deny it because if it was proven she lied, everything she had said would become unreliable and defending it sounds pathetic.

". . how can we trust you?" Gio finally meets her eyes. His eyes are full of contempt.

'They are both out to get me. It seems that I am already on their bad side.' She clenched her molars and glared at Gio.

"Whatever I say, you will find faults in it. Then what can I do? The map won't appear unless it was in the forest." She tried not to sound defeated as much as possible.

"You have a map. Why didn't I use it to get out of the forest?" Theo made a small growl. The sparks around him dance violently until a concentration of sparks turn to a different shapes and scribbling he pull out a sword out of thin air and he is swinging it to me

A voice is ringing in her head

'Comeback alive!'

A desperate voice. Was it from her memory or just a dream? It was too vivid and blurry but the voice in her head is getting louder and louder. Her eyes follow Theo's sword swing in her neck in slow motion.

"Inventory!"

*Claaaaaaaaang*

Theo's sword clashes with her Ogre's Butcher Knife. She found herself defending her neck by hiding behind the huge butcher's knife. Their eyes met and saw. Theo's eyes are hostile as if he will shred her to pieces. She is suppressing the weight of his sword by pushing her knife with one arm to support from behind. She gives a good strength to push his sword away and retreat. She gives distance between him and her.

Theo destroyed the new table that was replaced just yesterday. He might have crushed it earlier with his weight. She could feel a cold aura leaking through him and his eyes never left her.

[Multiple Bloodlust Detected]

[Commencing Emergency Request]

'Dammit!' She cursed internally. She knows that she can't win against Theo, not at her current level but that is the least of her problems. Gio is letting a murderous aura too, sparks are flying around him.

'They will definitely kill me. I have to stop their blood lust before the quest begin'

"The Map. I cannot use it before" It's too late to explain The System.

"How many more lies?" Gio grinds his teeth and lets the suffocating cold aura surround the room. It was freezingly cold air.

'Good thing, Luna played outside today.' she thought as the cold creeps in her bone

[EMERGENCY QUEST: Kill The Alexanders Brothers]

0/2

'No option. . . Alexander Brothers only? What about old men?'

Konrad is sitting quietly at his place watching everything unfold.

" I am grateful you saved my life but I will not let you kill me. . . atleast not easily." She said while maintaining her voice. She can almost see the outcome.

It's' either I die after I surrender or I'll die fighting.'

She chose the latter. She released a small air out and prepared to receive their attack. Theo, who was just a few meters in front of her disappeared then appeared at her side. She saw his incoming kick to her side of the stomach but it was too fast to avoid. She flew and hit the wall near the bed. She felt her bones tingle from the impact. She landed on the floor bleeding and clutching her sides.

*Clang*

'Is that my spear?' That spear is in that old man's possession.

She reached for it and heard the system's notification. She uses the spear as a foot hold. She spit some blood from her mouth and summoned the system while wiping the blood at the back of her palm.

[The Messenger Anklet]

She didn't feel anything after equipping because the numbing pain dominated her senses.

Theo disappears and reappears again, this time he is in infront of her swinging his sword once again. She deflected it. Her speed increased but the difference in their strength is still huge. She grit her teeth and redirect his sword and escape.

In the midst of escaping an invisible wall hit from her side.It was Gio, showing arm full of tattoos like the rest of his family, pointing at her like he is directing the invisible wall to push. She was pushed until she was squeezed between the wall and the veranda window door. The force of Gio's wall was so great she forcibly went through the window making her roll over the broken shards.

She put her spear between Gio's wall and the terrace railing to give herself space. The wall vanished and Theo's boots hit her in the stomach, kicking her out the terrace.

"Ahhh dammit!" She looks at the sky while falling. The sun is shining strongly this afternoon. She likes watching the sunset through this terrace thinking maybe she can live here.

'Live here? Hahahahaha How Ironic now I am dying. This is what I get for getting too comfortable.'

'Screw them' She hit the ground. The green grass is dyed red with her blood.

[HP has dropped to a dangerous level]

As the system window blinked red in warning her vision became dim and she couldn't feel her legs.

'Did it get dislocated? '

"Inventory"

[Medium Healing Potion]

She chugged the potion down. The taste is more disgusting than the small potion. She was instantly healed and started sprinting away.

'Hold out until the night'
