Finish him

Sitting there, on my knees before them, I feel my body run cold as I fall and hear him.

“Give in and run away; become a myth like you were before. We don’t need a hero; we don’t need you.” He offers me this as an ultimatum for my life.

I look around just to see if I can find a way, but all I see is my back being against the wall when I feel the angel touch my shoulder.

“He’ll leave.” I hear her say as she walks past me to interfere with the fight.

She then tries to push me out of the arena; I have to stop her. she turns back in surprise as I pull her in close.

“I’m sorry, but we both know the amount of power is just what my body can take, so I have to go all in,” I tell her with a tear in my eye.

“No... you won’t make it.” She tells me as she starts to cry.

“I know. Just tell Elaina what I couldn’t.” I say as I push her aside and turn to the creature one last time.

I take a step further forward and snap my arm, and we had together to point at the man.
