Epilogue

I open my eyes to see my old house, the one I raised my children in. I look around the small log cabin, it still as I left it with the fire burning and the table all set for two. I get up from my animal skin bed to hear my door open. I look over to see Anna.

“What is this? Where am I?” I ask, confused.

“This darling is the afterlife. I know it’s hard considering everything, but you earned it. So you can finally rest.” She comforts me.

I sit back down, taking all of this is when I remember the night in the woods.

“But, wait, you said I could move on and let you go,” I asked, worried about what she thinks about me after the fair and all I’ve done.

She walks over, taking my hands lovingly.

“You did; you finally moved on and for a reason to use this great power of yours. So now let's go.” So she tells me as she leads me out.

We walk out of the house to see the kids playing in the yard. They look as beautiful as the last time I saw them.
