"Fuuuccckkk you bitch" I pouted "oh come on, sorellina" Nadia wrapped an arm around me "I'm sorry I can't join you guys. I really have to look after my brother" she said, kissing my temple.

I sighed "fineeee. We'll just have fun without you" I crossed my arms childishly "yes, have enough fun for all three of us" she nodded.

A car honked "oh! That's my Mom. I'll see you at school Monday and you, next Saturday" she said giving us each a hug before rushing to the car.

Sunshine threw her arm around my shoulder "cheer up, Moonlight! We'll have so much fun you'll forget Nadia isn't there" she said, a confident smile on her face. I stare at her for a moment, just watching the lazy, content smile on her face.

Then I snort "you're the most boring teenager I've ever met" I replied. She gasped dramatically "you're too mean to me!" She said. I nodded "payback is sweet, bitch."

We bickered like this all the way to my house, laughing and smiling, shoving each other and nearly getting knocked over by a car, twice.

I opened the gate, letting Sunny in first "such a gentleman" she mocked, I bowed "but of course" I nodded, arrogantly.

I fumbled with the keys, trying to find the right one. I had my house keys, Nadia's, Sunny's and the keys to Spencer's apartment on one key ring.

When I found the right one I lifted my head, and dropped the keys. He stood at the door with that big, dorky grin on his face, his hair slightly ruffled from the wind and his hands shoved into his jean pockets.

"Hi" he said. My brain then malfunctioned. Loading...

"Oh shit! Spencer!" I ran toward him, giggling when he stumbled upon catching me. My legs wrapped around him and I shoved my head into his neck, breathing in his musky, ocean-y scent.

He laid his chin on top of my head and tightened his arms around me. "Okay, y'all, this is getting disgusting, Spencer, let go of my best friend" Sunny groaned.

"Nuh uh. You see her everyday. Don't be selfish" he replied "she's my best friend. I've know her for thirteen years! You've been in the picture for barely two seconds, back off boi" Sunny huffed.

I could tell he stuck his tongue out at her. "I missed you" I said, softly. He chuckled "I missed you too, psyduck" he replied, kissing my head.

I pulled back to glare at him. Ever since we watched the Pokemon movie, Spencer called me Psyduck because "you explode when you get too stressed."

"I missed you so much I'll let that one slide because this moment is sweet and I refuse to let you ruin it" I said, finally getting off of him.

I picked up my keys, unlocked the door and took my shoes off. Ryker University was twelve hours away because it was in the city.

Because of this, Spencer and I only saw each other on holidays or the rare weekends he came to visit. It had been exactly five weeks, ten hours and thirty-three minutes since we'd seen each other last and he wasn't supposed to be here until Thanksgiving so this was unexpected.

"Nice hoodie" Spencer teased as he took his shoes off. I looked down at my too big navy blue Ryker University Football hoodie that had once belonged to Spencer.

"Shut up, it's comfortable" I rolled my eyes. "No judgement honey" he held his hands up in surrender.

He kissed my forehead "you look adorable" he said. "Ugh, don't be disgusting" Sunshine complained. "Don't be salty just because you don't have a boyfriend" I stuck my tongue out at her.

Spencer was a good 6'7 which meant he towered over my barely 5ft height. Don't fucking judge me. Both my parents are short.

He was gangly and just a little bit on the muscular side. This meant that all his clothing were way too fucking big on me. I had to roll the sleeves of his hoodie up several times and his t shirts sat below my knee.

"Are you hungry?" I asked him, opening the fridge "I'm hungry" Sunny answered. I chuckled "you're always hungry" she nodded in agreement.

"Yeah. I'm hungry too. It was a long drive" Spencer replied. I nodded, pulling out some ingredients. "Mac and cheese sound good?" They nodded in reply.

"How long you staying?" I inquired, busying myself with cooking the noodles "til Monday" he answered, his hands holding his head up as he watched me move around the kitchen.

"Aww, that's so short" I pouted "I know, babe. But I have finals coming up" he sighed. I leaned over to kiss his head "that's okay honey" I turned to put the pot on the stove, adding salt and oil.

"It's only for a couple weeks then you're back for Thanksgiving" he wrapped his arms around me from behind, laying his head on my shoulder.

He kissed my neck, taking a deep breath. I shivered. "How are you so positive?" He asked. I shrugged "one of us has to be" I replied, turning my head to kiss his cheek.

I twisted out of his arms, turning back to the counter to prepare the sauce. "I'm beginning to think you don't miss me at all" he pouted.

"Psht, between my six other boyfriends and school, I barely have time to remember you" I flipped my hair. Sunny burst into loud laughter, nearly falling off her seat.

Spencer rolled up the sleeves of his t shirt and I took a moment to drool over his arms. "Names and addresses" he scowled.

I shook my head "you'll just go scare them off" I said "of course I will. I'll teach 'em what happens when they touch what's mine" he replied.

Meanwhile Sunny was dying on the floor. "Who ever said I was yours?" I batted my eye lashes at him. "Oh, so that's how it is" I shrieked, running away when he reached for me.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" I laughed "you better be" he nodded. I continued to prepare the sauce.

Sunny finally stopped laughing "you? Six boyfriends? You're so socially awkward that Nadia and I thought Spencer was imaginary before you introduced him to us. And then when you did, we thought you hired him" she snorted.

I gasped "you have no faith in me!" I pouted "of course we don't. You're hopeless" she shrugged. I glared at her "so mean."

Spencer wrapped his arms around me again "I better be your main boyfriend" he said "of course you are, darlin'" I answered.

"Good. I'm gonna go take a shower and freshen up" he kissed my temple before disappearing upstairs.

I paused cutting the cheese, staring at his back as he left. When he was gone I sighed. Sunny put her hand over mine "it's difficult, isn't it?"

I closed my eyes, an unshed tear falling. Sunny stood, walking around the counter to wrap her arms around me. I put my head on her shoulder, trying not to cry.

"So fucking difficult" I answered. I could never lie to her. She'd see right through me. "Why do you lie to him?" She asked, stroking my hair.

"Because, Sunny, you know Spencer" I pulled away to wipe my eyes "he loves me so much. If I were to tell him that it hurts me to be so far from him he'd pack up and moved back to Ravenswood immediately.

I can't let him do that. Ryker is a fucking good school. And this is an amazing opportunity for him. I can't let him ruin it because he wants to make me happy. Ryker is what's best for his future" I said.

"You are his future, Moon" she said, holding my face in her hands. I closed my eyes momentarily. Even when I was thinking of Spencer, I couldn't stop thinking about the blonde in front of me.

Seven years. That's too long to love someone who'll never love you back. When I opened my eyes, I stepped away. I couldn't be that close to her right now.

"You don't know that, Sunny. We're teenagers. Yeah, we love each other but we might not still be together five years down the line. And then what? He ruined his future for a girl he isn't even with anymore.

And besides, you know how sensitive he is. It'd break his heart to know that everything wasn't okay as I said it was" I aggressively stirred the sauce, moving to strain the pasta.

"Okay, Moon. Just know that I'm always here to support you" I nodded, hugging her "I know, Sunny."
