Young love blooms like flowers in the spring. It always feels fresh and it empowers the people that dared to choose the lovers way to feel invincible. When you are young you meet your soulmate every 3 months, that's the beauty of youth. If a relationship lasts longer than 3 months, then you are sure you are going to marry the person you are dating. Being young time moves faster than expected, so 3 months is a pretty long time to decide wether you want a person for life or not. What about being with someone for 3 years while you are young?
"Happy Anniversary, babe!" Dave smiled as he gave Blair one big peck on the forehead.
"Happy Anniversary, love!" Blair smiled. "I got you a little something." She said as she flicked his nose.
"Oh, we are doing gifts this year?" Dave chuckled.
"For the love of God, Frost, I'll murder you." Blair giggled. "Here." She pulled a black box out of her backpack.
"This for me?" Dave asked in a goofy voice as he took the box out of her hands.
"Yes, baby." She smiled.
Dave opened up the box and discovered a beautiful hand watch. It had a simple, but classic design. It was a real treasure.
"Blair.." Dave went silent.
"Is something the matter? Don't you like the colour? Is there a problem with the model?" Blair started to panic.
"I love it, but.. isn't it a bit expensive? I didn't even get you a gift." Dave answered in shame.
"Are you kidding me?" Blair roared. "Are you fucking with me right now, Frost? It's our 3 years anniversary! How could you not even think of something?!"
Dave looked away, not answering. Blair has made preparations for this day. She cooked and baked, invited him over well knowing it was their special day. The day wasn't important for her, it was important the effort he put and lately it seemed like there was little to no effort.
"How dare you?" Blair questioned Dave. His eyes went wide open. "I think it's time for you to leave."
"Come on, Blair, you don't mean this.." Dave reached out to grab her hands while trying to establish eye contact.
Blair pulled away and walked towards the door. "Go."
"You are being really fucking childish. Why do you have to be so materialistic? Do you need things just to brag to your friends about? That is disgusting." Dave said as he walked towards Blair. "Look at me when I'm talking to you, don't be a bitch."
"Out, now!" Blair yelled as she opened the door, her eyes getting swollen. She was about to cry, but she wasn't about to let it out in front of him. Just as Dave was ready to open his mouth again, Blair took his jacket of the hanger and threw it over him, pushing him towards the doorway. "Out, out, out, out!"
"Blair!" Dave yelled as he got kicked out. Blair slammed the door shut, falling to the ground, letting herself break down in tears.
She couldn't do it anymore. She was fighting for two, yet she was always alone. Overreacting? Maybe, but some might say she had all the rights to snap like that. She noticed him drifting away. She noticed him hiding his phone screen whenever he would spend the night with her. She noticed him slowly falling out of love. Is she imagining all this? Was he actually trying to be there for her?
Lately the two of them did not have time to meet that often. Blair would be studying for school and doing volunteer work at J.I.L., while Dave would sit at home playing games or hitting the gym. Even though she would propose a day for them to go out on a date, he would always be too busy. When they would go out, he would invite his friends to tag along. He would have lots of girl friends that were always a bit too friendly with him, thing that would bother Blair and no matter how many times she would tell him about how she feels, he would shrug it off.
"Yes?" Blair picked up her phone. She cried for hours, it was night time now and her phone rang. Dakota called.
"You weren't answering any of my texts so I decided to call you. You really have to check your socials, I sent you a screenshot and I need an explanation!" Dakota yelled into the phone.
"What do you mean?" Blair asked.
"Look at it already!" Dakota hurried Blair.
Blair put Dakota on speaker as she opened her phone screen. Checking the messages Dakota has sent her she noticed a terrible sight. A girl posted a story on her socials with Dave, the caption saying 'celebrating 3 months'. Blair's stomach fell, she felt as if she was going to throw up any moment now.
"Blair?" Dakota's voice broke the trance Blair fell into.
"Dakota, I'm gonna get sick.." Blair barely said.
"Is this for real? Holy shit, dude! Are you okay?" Dakota questioned, panic setting in her voice. "I-I'm coming over!"
"I'm fine.." Blair muttered, but Dakota already hung up on her.
She was not fine.
