The Journey Of Samkelisiwe Nzama

1st month of September, I got robbed. September has never been such a polite month on me. It was a Thursday morning I took a bath and headed to a small town nearby to withdraw cash to do my hair. I was walking alone, wearing a simple casual outfit. I mean it was not that attractive that it would make me become a victim for robbery.

When walking towards the small shopping centre where there was an ATM for me to withdraw cash. I saw a man in a red car, well I thought maybe it was one of the guys who came to the mall also. But I questioned myself why would he park his car so far from the shopping centre. But I left that I continued walking alone, the guy slowly approached me from the back. It was kind of raining that day, so the community were indoors. When I saw him slowly approaching me, I quickly ran to a hair salon and I found three guys there. I pretended to be asking for the hairstyle prices.

Then I looked outside and he was not there I was so relieved. I walked and walked and continued walking, I looked from the back and he wasn't there. I walked faster than before. I went in to some Chinese shop just to make sure that he is really gone and I went in there kept myself busy looking for bags and some garment.

The lady from the store kept on following me, she worked there, she

kept on following my every move. It seemed strange but I thought maybe it was her job to do all that. This lady was too strange I suspected that maybe she’s working with the guy I am trying to run away from. I quickly left the shop and went to the one next door. I didn't spend a lot of time there I just came in, looked at this other dress and I came out. Something told me that the guy is gone now. And I can go to the ATM to withdraw cash and go home.

I went to the ATM there was guy in front of me with a black jacket he seemed old enough to be my father, so my trust was in him. After the guy was done with cash his withdrawal I went after him and when I immediately placed my card in the machine the guy with the red jacket was right behind me.

I felt like my heart is gone stop. I couldn't even feel my brain anymore. He took out a knife and insisted I gave him a pin and I did what he said. He told me not to look at the back as he quickly got back to his car. I screamed for help and asked the older men that where there to help me out, but none of them did. They just looked at me and walked past. I felt like crying because even the securities at the shopping centre did nothing to help me. But being Samkelisiwe Nzama I was strong enough to face the situation and I left.

I got home, called my mother because I didn't know what to do. It was so strange that I didn't even cry I was not even traumatized either. I got a text from Thami, I knew he wanted something because we hardly talk to each other. Well after talking to my mom on the phone I attended to Thami's massage. Well, the guy told me what I was not expecting at all I quickly answered his text back with a shock. What did Thami really say in that text?
