Meet the Resistance

Outside the new inverse pyramid is a massive crowd of what must be at least several thousand people ranging from young to old. Most of them wearing either military camouflage outfits or ragged patched up clothes. The noise of many conversations slowly dies out and silence ensues as everyone stares at Tral standing at the top of the stairs to the pyramid.

Tral looks a little awkward at first but then immediately gets a really stupid look on his face and waves eccentrically "Hi there strangers!" before creating what looks like a jacked up motorized wheel chair with a snap of his fingers which he sits in and starts performing wheelies as the wheelchair launches fire into air from the back.

Gara and the rest quickly leave the building. "Can you tone it down two or three times Brother or I'm going to get a headache and if I get a head ache, you know I'll have to share the pain with you" Gara states while grabbing the back of the wheel chair to stop her idiot brother from spinning around.

Soon a group of four people brake out of the crowd heading for the friends at the top of the stairs. From left to right there is a large solid military Orcish man that looks to be made of rough wood with a stern expression as if on guard followed by the little girl Sofie who is standing next to a tall man with an intricate eye patch covering a quarter of his face and a thick stubbly beard. The last person was a fierce and frosty looking ebony woman in a radiant blue dress who stood vigilant slightly in front of the rest.

"Salvara siblings, energetic scientist and friendly statue." called out the man with the eye patch. "I'm James T Inherst, welcome to the Compound we call home."

"My daughter has spoken a great deal about your group. Normally we have a screening process and orientation but you never actually entered our pyramid, so I will show you around personally"

The woman in blue looked at Mr.Inherst angrily "How can we trust these strangers so easily, just because they have decent powers doesn't mean we need to walk them through our home. They should prove themselves like everyone else."

"Vishka please they are our guests. As I have been told they don't want to join the resistance but need sanctuary from the church like many others." Mr.Inherst told the woman to placate her then turned to Gara. "can we trust you?" He said while looking her in the eye.

"We have no reason to go against you if you don't do the same, in fact I am sure we can help each other" Gara replied seriously.

"you can trust me too despite what happened the last time we met." proclaimed Tral.

"Have we met before?"Mr.Inherst questioned turning to look at Tral who responded "yeah, many years ago, you broke into project Blood Sparrow to rescue kids from experimental training" This comment caused the faces of the resistance members to immediately tighten.

Mr.Inherst quickly regained his composer "Let's not talk about this here.. Come with us and we will show you around." He motions to the crowd to part so that the group can pass to the ancient pyramid.

After entering the ancient pyramid, they came to a large open room with great stairways and bridges leading all over. Mr.Inherst guides them down one of the stairs which runs along the wall going deep into the pyramid.

As they descend the surroundings open up with many bridges and stariways all around them. They see many people bustling around from stair to stair as they pass by stalls selling all kinds of goods and see many doorways along the walls.

"The compound is an ancient structure found years ago. It is divided into four main parts." Describes Mr.Inherst as they travel. "the first part you have already see is the cave outside the pyramid where we park vehicles, do maintenance and apparently have a luxury new pyramid." He states with a raised eyebrow before going on "The second part we are currently in which is where we house thousands of people both members of the resistance as well as refugees that stay here for a time before being taken to various safe communes around the world. The pyramid extends for miles deep underground with many passages to rooms or caves throughout the area."

"The third area you would only see if you fully join the resistance which is the command center above the pyramid where we live and work most of the time." He continues as they head towards a large pair of metal doors. "Finally we get to the final area which we are coming up to and I think it is easier to show you"

As the doors open a strange glow creeps out and as they walked through the doorway they see a massive cavern filled with glowing moss and fungi as far as the eyes can see. "this is the cave of light, the fourth area as well as the main source of food and water for many in the compound."

"This is amazing!" Arc cried out excitedly "This is a natural cavern with it's own life cycle separate from the outside world. Just imagining the medical and scientific uses for such various fungus makes me what to start a round of tests" His eyes wildly scanning the different fungus that ranges in shape and size.

"We have found some types of plants here that when applied to wounds have a decent effect helping to close them or acts as a food source but other than that most of the other fungus here possess.. .. unusual effects on the mind which apparently people use to use them in ceremonies and the likely reason for the construction of the pyramid in the first place." Informed Vishka.

"Now that we have shown you around, you are free to stay in the compound for as long as you want although we are going to insist you can't leave without a guide so as to reduce exposure to the church." Mr.Inherst stated "We would very much like you to join the resistance but there is no point in doing so unless you are wholly committed to fighting the church and military."

"There are plenty of reasons for us to loath the military and despite my brothers appearance of lack of interest, I would very much like to bring the fight to the church" Declared Gara changing her outfit to look similar to the military style of the resistance only immaculately clean and with a considerable amount of purple.

"If joining your resistance means helping people brake free of the bonds of persecution then I will also do what I can." Darick joined in as well as Lisa while they held hands.

"I can help give you a boost or by looking over your tech but am not too well at the whole field work thing even though I have been trained to fight with a shock (energy crackles around his fingers) but honestly it's not my element" Arc admitted a little embarrassed.

"That's ok Arc with a little back up to get you into places, you do a great job of actually accomplishing the goals while these two fools rampage about." reassured Gara putting a hand on his shoulder which seemed to give him great courage.

Mr.Inherst gave the group a big smile "we would be glad to have you all, in fact we have a mission that could really use your skill set Gara"

"Oh come on!" suddenly yells Darick angrily while Arc starts a victory dance. "haha that's a hundred bucks each suckers" celebrated Arc as the resistance members gave him a strange look.

"we bet on what you would ask for first." explains Gara to Mr.Inherst who raises an eye brow again "well I am glad to bring you such joy Arc."

"Now if there is nothing else, is there anyway to convince you Tral Salvara to join in, otherwise you will miss out on a lot as we can't have regular refugees involved in our operates past this point?" Mr.Inherst asks.
