Chapter 7: Bryte: Boss of the Pro-dungeon

Chapter 7: Boss of the Pro-dungeon

I was counting the time properly. I wanted to be ready when I had to again be wary of the arrows. But it hadn't even been 2 seconds, when it rained down half-dozen arrows at me. I knew that I was counting properly and it had only been 1 second. So, what happened? Well, I didn't have much time to focus on that as the arrows and their lethality were just as before. This made me realize that the skill might have two sets of attack al the while reducing the reloading time too. This skill was really OP. I knew that I couldn't dodge them. I had to find a way to deal them as I had to save every little HP I could. I equipped my sword, The Stake, and tried to block them. I successfully managed to deflect two arrows, two arrows missed me and two arrows hit me, each causing -100 damage.

Now I had lost 460 health which was about half of my health. Now this matter made me realize the seriousness of the situation I found myself within. I knew that I had to save as much health I could but I also needed to close in on it to kill it. The time was also slipping away right now at a fast rate.

I was sure that this time the reloading should take at least 2 seconds if not more because of the skill. And the skill also must be on cooldown. I just didn't know if it had any other skills. I had to close in despite how dangerous it was. If I had healing potion to restore health, I might wait to figure out its skill and then kill it. But I didn't have such facilities right now. This must be why one needed to prepare themselves completely before going on a war or an adventure.

I was just rushing towards it when I remembered that I used to run at a zig-zag line while PUBG to be safer from enemies' attack. Aha. How forgetful I thought. I then rushed toward it in a zig- zag line. I had closed in on it when it brought its bow in front of me. This movement completely shocked me as it was also grinning right now. Only then I realized that, its bow had no reloading time and it was only playing with me. It was taunting me right now with its disdainful look.

I squatted down as fast as I could despite the shock I felt. I knew that I was in a risky situation right now. Though I reacted as fast as I could, two arrows still hit me at my head. Fortunately, I was wearing a rare helmet. I still got 150 damages from both arrows despite the defense provided by the helmet. I was lucky that they were normal arrows this time.

I then slashed it with all the fury I had with me right now. All my frustrations caused by its earlier expression overwhelmed it completely.

And so on…

I was glad that it couldn't retaliate right now. I was not acting this way only because of my rage, I acted this way because the time was almost over and the 5th statue was about to lit up.

The 5th statue lit up. And I also heard the sound I was desperately waiting for.

Congratulation on killing Elite Euntroff. 1500 exp

Level 6 difference noted. 100% bonus added in exp.

Total=3000 exp

The exp I had was enough for me to level up to 8. But I didn't want to level up right now as I wanted to take a risk and fight it with my 450HP. I felt that having a choice to whether level up or not was like an extra life. So, I thought about keeping it for now. I will use it only when I feel that my life was in danger.

The 5th statue lit up and a terrifying monster came into light. It looked completely different from all the previous monsters. I didn't get to see what loots were dropped as all my attention was now on the new foe which had appeared. I felt that it was probably the boss of this Pro dungeon. If it wasn't, I couldn't imagine how terrifying its boss will be and how hard will be the Legend and the Mythic levels.

Bryte Lite (Special Elite) (Level 15)

HP: 5000/5000

MP: 1000/1000

It was in a completely new level from all the monsters I have faced right now. Its HP was more than 5 times my full HP. Its size was also huge. Imagine fighting a huge 5-6 m tall monster with a meter sword. And all the defenses it had on made me feel as if some one had sprayed salts on my wound right now. The intensity and the difficulty of each fight had been increasing right now. Fortunately, I was also getting stronger.

I didn't lose all the hope as I remembered that I had an extra life right now. I could take risks to see how strong it was and how to counter attack it. I cautiously looked towards it thinking of my next move. Next instant, Bryte made large steps toward me. I also rushed towards it as at least it could give me some momentum.

When the distance between us concluded to 1 m, Bryte swing its sword and threw a slash at me. A huge slash came towards me like Zoro's attacks. (Zoro is a character in the popular anime-one piece). I had already learned to be careful when approaching the enemy. So, I beautifully dodged it and attacked it with inclined slash. I still didn't have any skills or spells until now. So, my strongest attack right now was only this slash.

Inclined slash-50

Its big size was also advantageous to me right now. I moved towards its back after my first attack and made two slashes at its back.

Slash-40

Inclined slash-50

I thought that I should back down after two slashes. I knew that it was my best decision as it used a certain skill. I had enough time to get out from its range.

Bryte was getting angry when it felt that a puny human was playing with it. It was just going easy on the human thinking that only one skill was enough. But it seemed that this human was pretty special. It used its innate skill-Outer Explosion. Its armor exploded but it didn't face any damage and when the explosion settled, there was a new armor on its body. Only the color was different. Initially, it was black but right now it was covered with purple armors. This explosion didn't deal any damage to the human as it backed down right away after making two moves. Bryte was extremely shocked that its innate skill failed at the first time. It had never failed at least not the first time. As every opponent had been caught off-guard until now.

I was really shocked that there was such a strange skill. I had backed away because I felt that it must have had some short of skill or some way to deal with me. So, I backed away instantly. I was glad that it was right decision to do so. I looked at Bryte and could see that it was more shocked than when I slashed it at its back. So, I took advantage of the moment and rushed towards it and again did 3 slashes.

I was shocked that I dealt a little higher damage this time. I deduced that after explosion, the armor would reproduce itself but only some of its capabilities. If it could reproduce it too its full capacity in such a short time, then it really would have been over kill.

Bryte came into when I wounded it. It looked pretty angry right now. Never had it ever imagine to face such a big loss from a human. Well, it would also have never thought that it would lose its life to the same human. Bryte threw consecutive slashes this time. It looked really enraged right now as it was swinging its sword as if its life depended on it.

Swoosh

Swoosh

Slashes visible in air came to cut me into pieces one after another. I dodged them running in a circle, dancing here and there. I wanted to close in on it but was scared that its explosion skill might have finished its cooldown time. But I needed to take risks because it looked as if it could throw the slashes continuously. So, I tried to close in on it cautiously still dancing here and there.

When I was in the previous explosion range, it stopped swinging its sword. I felt that it would again use the explosion skill. But it didn't. Instead, it looked at me disdainfully as if saying that if you have the guts come closer. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at this. I couldn't back down as it would again throw the slashes and neither I could close in because it might use explosion. The explosion might take away my remaining health at an instant so, I was in a dilemma. What I didn't understand more is why it didn't throw more slashes, because it would have been harder for me to dodge them at this close distance.

So, what to do? Will the stalemate continue or will Bryte use slashes again or will Shiva close in or back away? Tune in to find out.
