I was waiting patiently with my eyes closed. The assassins didn't move. I also didn't move. The place was so quiet that no would think that a war was taking place here. It was pin drop silence but I felt that the silence was more suffocating.
Everything was peaceful when I felt air temperature cooling gradually. It was actually the shift in the atmosphere. I felt that it was the 1st assassin shadow because it was emitting such murderous aura that I knew its location instantly. I opened my eyes and looked towards the place where the aura was coming from. I wanted to rush towards it but controlled myself completely. I felt that it must be some sort of trap. So, instead I backed down a bit. When I backed down, the 2nd assassin appeared at the place from where the murderous aura was coming from and I realized that I had overthought.
The Reaper didn't hesitate to smirk at me. I felt rage boiling inside especially when it grinned like it was laughing at me. I took a deep breath and remembered my absolute advantage. I had a huge gap in the attributes so, why do I need to fear I thought.
I pushed my speed to the limits and fired fireballs. It nimbly dodged and lunged towards me. I looked at the assassin lunging at me calmly and swung equipped the bow at my left hand. When it swung its blade, I blocked it with the bow with it facing towards the phantom assassin and fired the arrows instantly. The 3 arrows hit the assassin right at its neck and the 40% defense ignoring mechanism was also activated.

It also gave a bleeding effect which caused -10 damage every second. I was about to follow up with a chop when I heard whooshing sound.

I knew what the sound was and wanted to dodge it but was shocked to see that most of them hit at my back. I wasn't even able to get in the position to roll when they hit me.

I felt that it must be near me when I wasn't able to dodge the shuriken. So, I swung The Stake 360 degree continuously and finally I felt that it hit something at the 4th rotations. It was the 1st assassin phantom shadow. It already had lost almost one-fifth of its HP. I wanted to follow up with another chop when I felt Reaper lunging towards me. This time I felt that they were giving their all no longer hiding in the shadows. I didn't look towards the 2nd assassin as I focused my all on the 1st. I attacked it with tripe cut followed by slashes and chops.

I was attacking it continuously and overwhelming it with my high attack power and strength. When the 2nd assassin neared me, I fired fireball towards it. The 2nd assassin dodged it and I again focused my offense on the 1st.

I only at this moment realized that despite such a high difference in attributes, I was only causing this much damage. I hadn't realized this before but only now was I shocked to see this. I attacked the 2nd assassin with the bow next moment and backed down a bit. I wanted answers to this first. I didn't care even if it was in the middle of the fight. I enquired what I was going on inside my head as the system was now able to read my thoughts.
"well… because there was such a large difference in attributes, I limited it." It said without any hint of apology or explanation. I always knew that the system was just a machine but still I didn't like to hear the emotionless voice. I was starting to hate it slowly and slowly.

Upon seeing the system asking me instead of following up my orders I was enraged. The system noticed what I was thinking next moment and it disabled the AI option and also removed the limiter.
I felt myself growing stronger next moment. I felt that it must have restricted my attributes at least to 80%.
This time I could vaguely see both the assassin. Although not clearly, I could still feel their presence. I felt that it must be likely because of the vast difference in attributes. I knew that I had almost more than double of their attributes.
I didn't wait for them this time. I lunged at the 1st assassin because it had already lost more than 2000 HP by now and attacked it with triple cuts, fireballs followed by slashes and chops.

I overwhelmed it and attacked it continuously at my full power. I didn't hold back at all and when the 2nd assassin rushed at me, I had already depleted more than 6,000 HP of the 1st assassin. It had a little than 1000 HP remaining. And I also had just reached the 10 continuous combos. With it, my damage rose to another level next moment.
When the 2nd assassin was in my range, I turned towards it and attacked it without blocking or dodging whatever it was throwing at me.

I soon reached 10 combos again and I killed it without any difficulty after a while. It wanted to struggle. But it was like a hen waiting to be butchered. I didn't show any mercy or anything and finished it simply.

I wasn't happy despite the fact that I dominated the fight completely. I was still thinking about the system and its purpose.
"Are you spying or what? I already know the real truth. So, you don't need to hide if you are listening to me." I said to the system.
The system didn't spoke for a while and replied after sighing.
"Of course not! The new AI feature is really only for helping the System Holder. They don't use them to spy or anything with us. You already know that if they want to actually do something, you and I can't do anything, don't you?"
I didn't reply and didn't let mt guard down at all. I needed to calm down and not let it affect me in the future. I had to face this sooner or later. Me doing anything won't change the actual truth. So, me fixating on this will only do me more harm than me I concluded and then cleared my mind of such thoughts. After clearing my mind, I organized the loots.

I wasn't interested in the dagger and the cloak for now. They might be helpful but I wanted to buy them from the market with CPs. Then I focused on the shuriken and suit. I liked them both instantly.

I didn't see any door or passage to head to the next place. But I could hear some noise. It wasn't clear but I knew that it was some type of monster roaring. I followed the sound and soon ended up in the 1st compartment I encountered. But there was nothing.

I listened carefully and felt that the sound was coming from the tunnel I was in before. I was able to come inside because of the flame torch but I didn't know how to enter the tunnel again. I scanned the compartment and my eyes lit up next moment.
