Acceptance II

"what's happening?" Dorothy said, looking back at him.

"I'm coming... Just need to check on something " He said and then raced his way forward to where the sounds of sobbing were coming from.

First things first, desmond sighed to himself, he had to make sure that everything was alright. He was been worried about the one who he had to take into guidance now. Whle it was understandable that the boy had lost his parents and thus would be have fits such as this, he was really worried that he may have let that get to the person who ahd come in to visit.

When he was leaving the house, earlier, he had been frustrated. It was not too long since he had to leave his own house and his own life to come here, in the status of a guardian to the son of his late brother. It was not long enough and so, it was normal that people would be watching him. After all, he had been the brother who ahd not been seen around the family since the time that his brother had decided to cut ties with him. Based on the account of his frivolous lifestyle which he was not opportuned to sponsor by himself. It had led to him asking for money from his brother who had it easier in life and eventually the brother had decided that it was enough of hi, cutting off ties with him.

It came as a shock to him when he had been named as the guardian of his borhter's son, by the Will. He had not expected it but yet it had come. It made him soften his ehart towards the late brother of his but then again, it was only normal that people would be casting suspicious looks at him.

While they could do that even if they disagreed, the will of his late brother was supreme. There was little to nothing that either of the could do. But that did not mean that they would not be watching him. they would have their eyes fastened on hi to know just how well he was managing the affairs he had been entrutsed. And one fo the things which he was sure they would be taking into consideration was the son of the late brother.

The son had ben his concern. He had not accepted him, the brat of a boy but then he was not worried. He himself did not accept him. he only accepted the guardianship post on him just so he could have a taste of the luxury that was in the house.

The boy had not been eating his food at all for the past time. It had worried him that he did not want to have a shriveled boy turn out to b his ward. It would not speak well of him. He was only worried that the people who were secretly watching him would want to sue the boy as a marker to attack him and render him unfit to hold the status quo.

Which was why he had to find out who was sobbing. To know if the boy Lekan had mouthed out to whoever it was about his obvious displeasure over him. After a while of running, Desmond skidded to a halt as he reached the front of the room of Lekan, his mouth slightly ajar in sync with his widened eyes as the crouched figure of the girl. The girl who he had come to know as Lekan's neighborhood friend.

His eyes flashed as he saw her sobbing. She was crying, outside the room of Lekan. Had Lekan hit her? For a moment there, glee rose in his heart. If Lekan had hit her then it would be sufficing for him to take the initiative to beat the boy black and blue and then hide behind the cover that he had beaten and not only that, molested the girl Blessing.

I would do just fine. Earlier, he had been looking for a way to teach the boy a lesson in a way that no one would care to listen to the side of Lekan at all. Now was the time that Fate had provided for him. It would be foolhardy for him not to take advantage of it now.

So with that in his mind, he crept closer to her, coming from her right hand side. As he did that, he was positioned in front of the door, his shoe shuffling on the ground and alerting the girl to his presence now.

Blessing whimpered now and then looked up, clearing her tears with the back of her hand. "Good afternoon sir." She greeted.

"Yea! How are you? You look awful!" He said, his voice sounding really caring and worried.

Desmond squatted now, using two fingers of his left hand to lift her jaw up and then slightly turn her head towards him.

"Did he hurt you?" He asked, a faint glimmer of excitement in his eyes.

"Oh... No, no!' Blessing said to him now. "Lekan would never do that to me. I am just sad... Just sad because of the way things are with him. He..." She paused now. "He is really taking this hard on himself, sir. I just wish he could get over all of this, and do that on time too." She said, sorrowfully.

"Oh! Desmond sighed. He shook his head now, one out of frustration that it was not like he had thought it would have been and two, because now that he was here, he would have to listen to whatever nonsense blessing had to spew out of her mouth and while he would be doing that, Dorothy could be getting really impatient over everything.

He had everything lose now, except if he could just wrap up the talk with her and then head off. For now, he could not just head away right after she had begun to talk. It would seem to be really inconsiderate of him, besides, he wanted to see if she had any idea of how sour the relationship between them too was. If Lekan had informed her about that, then it would mean that he would have some work to do lest his image be ruined by the blabbermouth of a girl.

Blessing looked at him now. Her hands were wrapped around her knee caps, bring her lower half closer to her breast. Seeing the way her breasts were all folded up together, Desmond could not just help but lick his lips, imagining how that would look like if Blessing was truly naked before him.

"I was thinking, sir. What if we can get Lekan to get out of the house for some time. I know that he has not been out for a while and I think that is what is making him become what he is right now. I am sure you must understand this, Sir!"

"Not quite." Desmond replied. "There is virtually everything in this house. I dont see what eh needs to do that would require him to get out of the house."

"You may not see it..." Blessing replied now. "But this house is depressing to him. This is where his parents lived in before his death and already, I think he is having some crazed episodes now. He might be going through trauma, sir. I dont know but have you thought to hvae him undergo some check at the hospital? Maybe a bit of mental therapy to help him relieve the incident of the loss of his parents?" Blessing shrugged. "Besides, for tomorrow, I think that we can just have him step outside and come to my school for some time. I think the busy environment out at school would help to relieve his thoughts but I cannot do that without you helping."

Blessing whispered now. 'I dont think he would want to come to my school, even as I did invite him. But if you insist to him, I am sure that he would want to oblige."

Desmond frowned now. he did not liek the diea of him getting out but then again, he was working against the time. He had Dorothy to return to and while he ahd her, he wanted to be done with the conversation as fast as possible for now.

"Did he tell you anything.. Anything... Like anything about me and the house and everything?" Desmond asked, trying to bait her to speak. "He is lost in his own world. To get him to notice things around him is something which is really tough. I think if you heard him say anything, even if it is bad, i would appreciate to hear it. At least let me know that he is not completely bonkers already. I worry too much for him." Desmond lied to her.

Blessing heaved now as she lowered her ehad. Lekan had mentioned soemthing aotu his uncle. Itw as clear that eh did not like his uncle and so, sshe did nto wnat to be the one to say that to him, especially in his face. That would be her betraying her friend, all for what?

She could not do that. No, not for the whole world.

"No.. He didn't" She lied in rreturn. "Maybe if we go out to school, then I may know what he ahs in his mind, especially about you." She said.

Desmond remained silent for a while before he shook his head. While it did not sound so great but at least, he reasoned, he could work with that. He just had to make sure that he could buy Blessing over to his side.

"Alright then." He said, rising up now. 'I would get him over when I am going to work. Thank you for seeing him , you know. It means so much to me." Desmond shook his head sadly.

"Yes sir. I would be leaving now.' She replied, equally getting to her feet as well.
