It has been a few weeks since the school year started. Paul was still trying to adjust from three years of staying at the house. Though, he got familiarized with the routine of waking up at 5:00 a.m., an hour earlier than his usual time of waking up, as he decided to keep his morning runs. He also needs to prepare on wearing his uniform and check his things every morning, to see if there are anything missing from his bag.
He still has his tutor sessions, but he only meets up with Charles during the weekends, mostly for a few hours. Charles was quite happy to see the positive changes on his student and was relieved that Paul's progress did not slow down that much. It was inevitable for Paul to slow down his progress on his professional studies, but it was still a good result as he has a lot on his plate already.
His parents were also quite glad to see Paul smiling more. Joseph and Mary observed that since their son became friends with Jake, Steven, and Amber, whom they were able to meet from time to time, he became happier and smiles more often. Despite the maturity of their son, the couple still knows that its different to have friends your age.
It was quite awkward times when they brought their son to their business partners' party for their children. They remembered that Paul always stayed in one corner, unwilling to communicate with children his age. It's quite reasonable, as Paul's much smarter than his age, but it still saddens them every time it happens.
Paul, even though has an old soul, is still happy to experience childhood again. Not worrying about anything, but studies and your friends. It makes him reminisce his friends from his past life, but he avoids that because he doesn't want to recall the past. It's not healthy to dwell and linger in the past, after all.
Paul is really happy, especially with his newfound friends. There's just something that clicked within the four of them, that they got along quite well. They didn't mind each other's quirk that much, and they meshed into a usual routine every day. Amber's angry shouts to Steven's taunts, Jake's naps, Paul's lectures, and reminders, it was quite a sight.
Paul and Amber are quite studious students; thus, they quite drag Steven and Jake along with them when they review. Steven wasn't quite hard to convince, but Jake was another matter altogether. Still, they were able to pull Jake along their study sessions with some serious persuasion attempts. Despite knowing things already, Paul does not advance that much in classes as he keeps studying for his preparation in the Elementary Exams he wants to take in the future.
Paul was able to meet a lot of Pokemons in the Beginner's Class and was able to discover more about their biology and characteristics in person, instead of books. The Contest Class was also much informative and was able to introduce him to different uses of moves and how could a pokemon be proficient with them. There was so much to learn during both classes, but it was still fulfilling for Paul.
The Doctor's Class was Paul's least liked subject. It's because its similar to the classes he took before when he was studying for his Biology Degree. Though, the difference of Pokemon Treatment and Biology, and other special differences of this world's physiques made him retain his interest in the subject. Paul still loves biology at heart.
The Battle Class, on the other hand, was Paul's next favorite subject besides the Beginner's Class. Actually, Paul liked all his subjects, but he categorizes them from his most liked up to least liked subjects. The Battle Class was very interesting as he got to conduct Pokemon Battles with his classmates. They usually fight each other, using either their own, or Kanto Region pokemons, while Mr. Figg using different types of Pokemons during the class. He also gives them tactics or ways to improve during battles. This subject has the least information to study on, but it has the heaviest applied tests.
The Breeding Class was also interesting, able to meet different Pokemons every day, feeding them, sometimes, taking them to bath, or pop quizzes on a certain Pokemon. It was the next subject Paul liked after Battle Class and Beginner's Class. The Contest Class comes right after, with the Doctor's Class coming at last place.
Still, overall, Paul was satisfied with his classes' curriculum, and the school's facilities were top notch. The Library was a favorite spot of Paul, along with Amber who loved to peruse the Library's books. Paul also loves to stay at the library when he has free times. He and Amber together, drags other two with them to go there. Most of the time, the four of them answers their assignments at the Library before going home. This resulted them to ask their parents or chauffeurs to fetch them around 4:30 p.m. After finishing an assignment, the three of them usually strolls around the campus while talking about different things.
Like now, Paul, Jake, Amber, and Steven, are strolling across the campus. They just finished their assignments for the day and was just walking around waiting for the time they would be fetched to go home.
Paul was currently discussing with Steven regarding the process of mining evolution stones, while Jake and Amber were talking about food garnish when Paul asked them a question.
"Hey guys, would you like to go out and eat? Today's Friday, and the weather seems nice." Paul invited his friends.
"Sure, why not." Jake first replied. Seeing the look from his friends, he shrugged as he honestly said, "What? I have nothing much to do at the house. And spending time with guys isn't that bad."
"Is that Jake saying his affections for us?" Amber teasingly asked the blonde.
The former immediately blushed, and retorted, "Shut up, pig face."
Used to Amber's limited tolerance to teasing, Paul expected some physical retribution from the pink head to the blonde. As anticipated, an "Ouch!" sounded as Amber punched Jake's shoulder.
"Hey! Stop copying that iron head! Besides, I'm pretty and not a pig face!" Amber angrily said to Jake.
Paul already foreseen a certain blue head, that cannot stop from harming himself, to speak out.
"Keep saying that to yourself." Steven sarcastically countered Amber's statement,
Another "Ouch!" came out, this time it's from a different person.
"Don't butt in other's conversation, iron head! Hmph. To think others call you a gentleman. Let me reveal your true ugly face to the world!" Amber grumpily replied, already sulking as the two males of the quartet bullies her.
Paul, knowing Steven won't stop on retorting, raised his hand to stop the blue head.
"Stop. You haven't even answered my invitations yet, and both of you already started fighting. So?" He raised his eyebrows as he asked at the Devon Corporation heir.
"Yeah, I'll go, it sounds fun." Steven instantly replied, knowing that look from Paul, as the red head's patience was wearing thin because they have been arguing more than usual today.
Paul also transferred his gaze to the pink head, who already calmed down due to the change of topic.
"Of course! I'll just ask my mom, but I'm sure she'll agree. Where would we eat though? Is it the newly opened place at the corner of the main district?" Amber opted, as she asked the location of their evening's dinning place.
"Yup. I've heard it has a good Poke Puffs, and that they make illegally good seafood dishes and desserts." He replied to Amber, the latter giving a nod in response.
"So… Let's just call our respective parents and wait for our rides. I'm sure we could tag them along our meal." Paul decided for the group, as he led the way to the Utility Building where they could call their parents.
All of their parents immediately agreed, each of them knowing how close their charges have gotten. As they also know each other from business, they are quite relaxed with the children's safety knowing each of them has set proper measures. It's quite safe for the quartet as Steven, Jake, and Paul's parents have assigned their own bodyguards for protection of their child. Amber is also under protection by the bodyguards hired by Mr. Stone, being the daughter of his trusted secretary.
Mary and Joseph hired two bodyguards for Paul's protection when they cannot fetch Paul from school or drive for him at the morning. Paul understood his parents' worries, even if their current identity is secured, there might be some leaks. Though, its negligible, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
The children have also done this plenty of times already, so there weren't much of a hassle when they asked their parents for permission and successive measures when going out. When their respective rides finally came to school, Paul led his friends to walk the street and directly go to the recently opened restaurant. He had already called to make a reservation, which they accepted immediately as his parents were friends with the owners.
Paul ordered for them, while considering each of their preferences. He called the waiter and instructed to give them Prawn Tempura, Seafood Pasta, Calamari Fritters, and Goan Crab Curry for the main course. He also ordered half of a Chocolate Almond Cake and four Strawberry Tiramisu as dessert, and additional five Poke Puffs for their pokemons.
They ate a hearty meal that day, with each of them saying goodbye to go home, with smile on their faces.
He went inside the back seat of his red car, which was bought by his parents for his schooling, as he asked his driver/bodyguard to start the car before looking at the window.
'I could get used to his', Paul thought, smiling, as he looked at his friends who were waving at him while mouthing 'goodbyes' and 'stay safe'.
