Stepmother's Identity?

Ren remembered an important information in the game.

Looking at Claire's lustrous beautiful hair.

The identical blonde-golden hair, which was only possessed by someone with a royale bloodline.

Thinking about it now, Ren was very curious about Claire's identity.

There is just no way that someone from a baron rank household could marry someone with a royale blood, in ordinary circumstances that is.

Ren doesn't recall any character in the game that coincides with Claire.

High-rank magic? It's an understatement, the magic she showed was a magic of the legendary rank in Elysium.

'Is there some kind of plot going on?' Ren couldn't help but wonder.

His father, the head of a baron rank household suddenly married a woman with a royale bloodline in two months after his first wife died.

Just this statement screams with weirdness. One should know that having to marry someone like Claire is not easy. What's more, it would cause a lot of disturbance since almost all people in this world literally knows what it means to have a golden hair.

'Sigh. What am I thinking so hard about this, it clearly doesn't involve me.' Ren shook his head, looked at the spectacle that was happening within his sight.

The water dragon has been finally created. The duration of the magic seemed to be long, as the dragon keeps flying, it even controlled the weather for it to rain.

Claire withdrew the magic, she mearly controlled it to move around, not using it as a magic that would cause destruction.

If she ever controls it that way, it would be devastating.

They were currently at a forest quite a distance away from the mansion. Claire teleported him here to teach him magic.

"So... have you learned anything?" Claire asked with a smile after her magic is gone.

"Maybe?" Ren answered, he might have not learned something about magic, but he surely knew something about her identity.

"You're not sure? Fufu, continue practicing on your magic." Claire chuckled.

"Mother, are there ranks to measure an individuals strength?" In the game, there were none. You would only know by checking the stats of your character.

In hindsight, he can't view his stats as this is a real world, not a game.

"Hm, not really. You can't measure someones strength so that's why, you must always be careful." Claire warned.

"Yes, I understand." Ren nodded.

Since then, he always left time to practice magic together with Claire.

*Two months passed*

"You have been diligent in these past two months. The magic books I gave have also been learned.

It's time for you to learn non-elemental based magic, also called sub-magic. My teleportation belongs to this category, but I think you don't have enough magical power for you to learn it yet. We'll start with something easy."

*Four months passed*

"It has been six months, huh?" Ren mumbled. In just half a year, he had learned and mastered a lot of magic.

The magic books Claire provided didn't really help that much, it was his knowledge from earth that helped him create his own magic.

Claire only knows that he has learned: [Lightning Strike], [Paralyze], [Lightning Serpent], [Lightning Hand], [Electric Charge], [Binding], [Clear Sight]... In other words, a lot of basic magics. They were pretty low in rank.

However, what he truly learned is a different matter altogether. He can literally cast any lightning magic as long as his magic capacity allows it.

The sub-magic he practiced very hard was Claire's teleportation. She taught him once saying it wouldn't hurt if he knows as he can't even learn it for the time being.

In this six months, almost all of his concentration was on this particular magic. After all, one would know the value of teleportation. It's an overpowered magic.

Sadly, he didn't master it. At least, he could teleport in a short distance from time to time before his magic capacity and mental energy runs out. Which would be in contrast to what Claire said, saying he can't do it yet.

Claire also taught him that a lot of magic deals with mental energy, not only magical power. Teleportation, being one of them.

"Is there any events in the game happening right now?" Ren wondered while reading his notebook that listed all the details of the game.

In this particular time which is many years before the canon starts, that events are very less. One of the major and memorable events which would be Kaguya-Hime had already passed.

"The cheat-like like items are very hard to get and I would have to go to the city. With my current power, even getting close to one is near impossible. Freya could help me, though. But, it's still risky." Ren shook his head. He can't do it right now, it's even possible that the item is on another place at this time.

"Half a year from now, exactly a year after Kaguya-Hime and the Moon's Blessing. The Rising Sun's Blessing will be next, and the other Ancient War Maiden, Aphrodite, will appear as a reward of this event... The event is very difficult compared to Kaguya-Hime, this event is a contest of perseverance and strength.

Just like the place where the Moon could be reached, the event will happen at the place where the sun is the hottest.

It was described that the heat is unbearable in the game, and no one could get close to that place.

If I get Aphrodite, I would practically be placed at the top of this world. The heroine will still take time to awaken, specifically two and a half years from now.

The Ancient War Crusader that is part of the first three Ancient War Series revealed in the early game is the treasure of the royale family, which will be the prince's companion.

I don't know if I could endure the heat, but there is that certain item which could resist heat. It could be crafted after gathering a lot of materials.

Okay, it's decided. I still have half a year, in this span, I will fully commit on gaining combat experience and collecting the materials to be crafted.
