Learning Magic

"Visualization. It's the first step in constructing magic. Imagine the magic that you want create and make it in reality. To create perfect magic, you would need to focus and make the visualized magic in your mind to be perfect as possible.

If your visualization is not enough it will cause failure and some will even cause backlash. That's why you need to focus your mind, this is how incantations, highlighted words, wand/staff and more comes. These helps you greatly in focusing your magic and make it perfect.

If you are confident in your visualization; you don't necessarily need them. However, there are still important in strengthening magic. Incantation, especially.

Most powerful magic needs an incantation since one would need to cast the magic for a long time, unless you are a genius and have a very versatile mind then you won't need it. But only a handful of people existed that are like that.

Any questions so far?" Claire asked. She let him absorb the knowledge into his mind first, before she will continue.

"No. You can continue." Ren shook his head, thinking that it's just imagination and he sure does have a rich imagination so it might be simple that he thought.

"Construction of magic is the next step. Using the magical power inside your body, you will construct the magic in your mind, understand?" Claire smiled, she really like his expression.

'It's good that he is serious about this.' She thought.

"How do you exactly use the magical power in the body?" Ren asked.

"By feeling, you will understand that later after you do it. And if I have to describe it, Hmm... it's like breathing. We don't need to learn it as since we were born in this world of magic, the knowledge is ingrained in our minds." Claire explained.

"I see." Ren nodded and she was right. When he received the Moon's Blessing the knowledge of using magical power is already on his mind. He just asked to make it clear.

"Finally, the last step, Control. The last step is not really hard since it mostly depends on the capacity of your magical power and how well you have used it. Practice makes perfect, is all I can say. What I mean about the capacity is the limit of your magic, the distance, the duration, and etc... depends on your magical power." Claire finished.

"...Is that all?." It's easier than Ren thought, he wondered how he had gone wrong before since he couldn't release it.

"Yes, how about you try it? I saw you not knowing how to release magic before." Claire said, she couldn't exactly tell looking from afar on what process did he have a mistake causing him not to release the magic.

"Okay." Ren nodded.

His hand suddenly sparked with lightning, he moved his hand to release it but nothing happened. He kept moving it around until the magic died down.

"Pfft. That's it?" Claire couldn't help but chuckle. It was such an easy mistake in her eyes, she didn't expect even he who has all that knowledge in magic didn't know something as easy as this.

"Why? What's wrong?" Ren got confused.

"The one you casted should be the magic lightning strike. The issue is in the control, you couldn't release it. What do you mean by release? It literally means to leg go or set free, but you clearly didn't do that. You made the magic continue being bounded by you." Claire explained.

"Let go? Let go of my control?" Ren asked.

"Yes, there are lot of types of control. For example, lightning strike, you first need to let the magic escape from its confinement before regaining its control again. Another magic is lightning hand, a magic that will cover your hand with lightning and attack with it.

In other words, you didn't really fail on making magic its just the type of magic you choose to make; you didn't know how to control it. If you created the magic, lightning hand. You would be successful because it was really what you did. I bet, you didn't try any magic except lightning hand, am I right?" Claire explained.

"Well, yes." Ren nodded scratching his cheek. It was such a stupid mistake.

"Okay, try it again. Don't make mistake this time." Claire reminded.

"Yeah." Red nodded.

'Let go, huh?' As he thought of that the lightning that appeared on his hand was released from its restraints, flying away.

'Regain control.' The magic was made of his own magical power so he was very familiar with it. By feeling, he regained his control by connecting with it. He directed the magic to hit a nearby tree.

"Yes, nice work! You succeeded this time!" Claire was happy for him.

"Yeah, thanks." Ren smiled, he really appreciated the help.

"My element is water, so I can't really teach you any magic related to lightning. Don't worry, I will find you some magic books for your lightning element." Claire said.

"I understand." The help Ren got this time was already enough, he could create it himself.

This was one of this worlds absurdity and that is the imagination of the people were clearly limited compared to the imagination of the people in earth.

Magic was known to make the impossible, possible because you literally could make anything as long as you visualize it right, and doesn't cause any conflict.

The conflict means that for example when you visualize and construct both fire and ice elements it will cause a negative and destructive reaction so unless you can figure how to stop that, you could also make that kind of magic.

"We will start by making you gain more experience first since I can't really teach you anything. Although my element is different but you could still gain enlightenment by seeing a high-rank magic. Mother will show you." Claire said as she took a couple of steps back so that he would be safe in distance.

Claire casted her magic.

Ren felt the air getting cold, something covered his head from rays of the sun above.

He looked up and saw a gigantic water dragon in the process of being constructed

'What the hell! This is clearly on the level of those magic geniuses in this world!'
