"Flame Cats drops a core with a 5% drop rate. I would need to kill thousands of them before I can accumulate enough core to make a Fire resistance charm." Ren calculated.

Flame Cats were not the only one who can drop a fire elemental core, any fire element monster will do, but the flame cats has the highest drop rate.

The fire resistance charm is needed for the next upcoming event, the Rising Sun or the Goddess Amaterasu's event.

Ren still has a lot of time to amass many fire cores as he can within the time frame. If he was rich, he could literally just buy it at the market in the city.

Reality is often disappointing.

Ren recalled his memory to find the information where of most the flame cats would be.

"There should be a place near this forest... fire mountain was it?" Ren mumbled.

"Freya, we're going out!" Ren called out.

"Where are we going this time, Ren?" Freya appeared in front of him.

"I'm going to fight some monster beasts." Ren didn't really treat the collecting of materials as his priority since he can just ask Freya to find and kill a lot of them.

"Okay." Freya nodded and hugged him.

Freya has the ability to levitate in the air, she was Ren's transportation.

"You better treat me after this as payment." Freya whispered into his ear, she was trying to tease him again.

Ren didn't let her get ahead of herself, he smelled and caressed her hair.

"You smell so sweet, Freya."

"Really? You don't need to hold yourself."

"Then, can I touch your breast?"

"No! You perverted kid."

Freya snorted as she stopped playing. She used her levitation and flew up above the sky.

"Haha. We're going to the fire mountain, today." Ren smiled to her reaction.

"Humph. You need to behave yourself." Freya hummed with a smile, she was not really angry.

Fire Mountain.

"Freya, can you sense how many monster is in this place?" Ren asked.

They were currently above the fire mountain, scanning the surroundings.

"About a thousand or so..." Freya answered.

"Are they strong?" Ren frowned. A thousand is a bit too much for his first fight.

"I could deal with all of them in a minute, should I?" Freya grinned, her murderous aura was leaking. She was prepared for slaughter.

"Sigh. How about me? Could I handle them?" Ren shook his head, he didn't actually know Freya's limit.

Even in the game, her true strength was not fully revealed. She won't be called a limited overpowered companion in the game if she doesn't have strength that could back her up.

"Hmm... except for a couple few, you could handle all of them." Freya thought for a bit before she spoke. She could gauge his strength during his practice and compared it to the monster beasts strength.

"Well... it won't be a challenge if there is no danger. Let's go down." Ren didn't think that much about it. He has the confidence to escape if the situation may prove to be troublesome.

Ren stopped the thought of having Freya save him. If he keeps this mentality, he won't improve.

"Good luck." Freya nodded. She understood his feelings, but of course, if the situation arise she would save him. He is her master after all.

Freya and Ren descended to the ground.

Ren activated [Clear Sight] one of the sub-magic Claire taught him. It can improve his eyesight by several distance away.

"So this is my first enemy in this world? Fantasy! It's really making me excited." Ren's childishness that was sealed since young awakened. Most kids before adulthood yearn for adventure and Ren himself was not an exception.

"My bad, I couldn't hold myself." Ren calmed his excitement and fixed his gaze at the opponent in front.

His first opponent was a fire tiger, it was twice bigger than the tiger Ren saw in earth. This tiger could possibly even breath fire, judging by the fire that oozes each time he breaths.

"There is no time to waste, it's on." A crisp sound of thunder sounded as a sword made up of lightning was formed in his hand.

Ren dashed forward his speed was very fast as each of his step caused sparks in the ground. His foot was covered by lightning.

The fire tiger noticed the sounds he created. It quickly prepared itself but was shocked of its opponent's speed. The fire tiger really breath out flames as to burn Ren into ashes.

"Do you know what happens when lightning meets fire?...

Ren mumbled cutting the ball of fire into two with his sword. The sword was so sharp that it directly cut the tiger apart together with the ball of fire.

...It's overload."

BOOM!

The tiger's body exploded and Ren was already out of range because of his speed.

"So this is first blood? I have to say, it's pretty easy." Ren smiled.

"Ren, you have no time to maintain that arrogance of yours." Freya's voice sounded from the back.

The disturbance that he caused caught a lot of attention. The monster beasts that was close to distance were all lured to his location.

"It's just a matter of hard work." Ren answered dashing towards the upcoming enemies. He will have to initiate the attack first and avoid getting surrounded.

"Fuck! There are so many..." After cutting two fire tigers, more monster beasts soon followed.

Another crisp sound of thunder sounded, Ren used another magic. This time, his whole body was covered with lightning, it was like a cloak made of lightning. Each time the monster beasts approached him it would be severed and shocked into pieces.

He's literally indestructible at his current state. The only way to stop him is for someone to cast a magic of a higher level than he is using which is clearly not possible for the monster beasts.

Tens of fire tigers took a distance away from him and breathed a ball of fire from their mouths. Ren didn't let himself be hit for nothing as he cut them down one by one, ignoring the magic that hit his body which clearly doesn't deal any damage.

However, it was a race against time since the duration of which he could maintain this magic were limited. The magic was also of a higher rank that would cause him a lot of magical power.

If he ever force himself to keep using it, he would ran out of magical power. So, that decision would be extremely stupid, he need to save as much magical power as possible since there will still be a lot of monster beasts arriving.
