Alone again? - prologue part 2

Darkness, darkness has always been his greatest fear. Because when you are in the dark and everything around you is dark, you are always alone. But he didn't want to be alone. He is always been alone, and it seems he's going to die alone too. In the dark and alone. But he didn't want to die yet, at least not alone.

He tried to free himself from his bondage, which pulls him further and further into the abyss, but this was not possible.

The metal chain, to which the metal ball is attached, simply did not want to come off and so the boy simply tried to swim with the ball upwards, which he also failed.

He could feel how with every second that passed he had less air to breathe. He was about to give up and finished with his life when he suddenly heard a voice in his head.

Boy give me your hand, he heard in his head, but he slowly lost consciousness and couldn't move anymore.

Just before he turned back into the darkness, he could see a shadow swimming past him. But then he lost consciousness anyway, while he still felt that something or someone was pulling him up towards the surface of the sea.

It was all dark again. He was lonely and not feeling well. He wanted to wake up but couldn't. Am I dead? He asked himself. But he had no answer to that either. And so he plunged back into the darkness.

This kept happening to him without being able to fully awaken his consciousness, it was as if he were trapped in his own head with no way of escaping.

An uncertain time later, the boy noticed that he could suddenly move again and that he was again in full possession of his body.

He tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't see anything, it was all dark. However, he could feel what he was lying on and it was very soft. It felt like it was a bed or something as he got very warm. He made himself comfortable around bed and so spent the time until suddenly a door opened and some light shone into the room, which blinded the boy and he disappeared directly under the covers.

A woman came into the room and when she noticed that the boy had woken up, she sat down on the empty bed next to him and waited until the boy got used to the sunlight and reappeared under the covers.

The woman gave the boy a friendly smile, which made him stop hiding. The woman started talking to the boy and told him what happened and how he was rescued by the coast guard and brought here to the orphanage.

"It was five days ago my boy and you are lucky that you are still alive. The other children were also rescued, but are not accommodated with us, as we unfortunately had no capacity for them, we could only accommodate you. Oh and just before I forget, there are a few rich families and some with royal blood who are interested in taking you in, although most of them only want to do this for good press, if you want I read them with good intentions for you talk to you and you make up your mind. "

The boy heard her train well and only nodded his head in agreement when she had finished speaking.

The lady left after she brought the boy something to eat, which he slimmed down with joy and left him behind. The boy was alone in the room again and he waited for the first people to appear who wanted to adopt him.
