After a delicious breakfast, the family set off for the ceremony. They didn't take the shuttle for long because the government building where the awakening takes place is very central and therefore not far from them.
Arrived in front of the building, their driver let them out and let the shuttle away to wait for them to come back.
When Arthur saw the skyscraper, he couldn't deny that he was already a little excited.
The skyscraper was one of the largest in City 12 and was completely coated on the outside with dark-tinted glass. The dark skyscraper has always stood out in the skyline of the city, due to its special color and therefore that it is the largest and therefore Arthur always wanted to observe the city from above from here.
As they went into the building, someone greeted them warmly and politely asked for their appointment. After all questions had been answered, a young lady led her through the corridors and floors.
As he walked, Arthur watched the building's many ornate walls. The walls were decorated with weapons of all shapes and sizes and stunning skeletons and the remains of rare and powerful monsters. The lady explained that these are bones of species declared extinct that besieged and attacked humanity over five hundred years ago.
Arthur was amazed at the age of the remains, because he could still see the strength of the monsters.
After a while the group reached a dimly lit corridor. The hallway was so dark that you couldn't see the end. The woman instructed Arthur to walk down the aisle alone and accompanied his parents into the observation room.
When Arthur was alone he made his way down the hall. On either side, Arthur could see stone figures of all kinds of monsters. They looked terrible and creepy, which caused Arthur to quicken his walking pace. He walked for a while without coming close to the end and slowly the light disappeared and he could only just make out his feet on the ground.
He had a bad feeling about this, but he forced himself to keep walking and not stop or turn back.
He kept walking without turning around. He ran trough the seemingly endless corridor again for a while, when suddenly he could feel something in the distance. He immediately quickened his pace and continued walking in the dark in the direction of the signal. Arthur ran on and ran on und without the end in sight but he felt the mana more and more and kept walking.
When he finally thought he had arrived, the room suddenly lit up. He stood in a huge domed hall made of rare white marble. Each column and wall was adorned with works of art made of gold and shimmered beautiful in the warm light of the Mana lamps. But what surprised Arthur the most was that in the middle of the hall there was a small stage with a mysterious looking stone on it, but what really shocked Arthur was that there chairs around there for easily over a thousand people, and those chairs were mostly occupied too.
As Arthur came into the hall breathing heavily, he draw a bit of attention to himself and a couple people turned to him and looked at him with different looks, some arrogant and some a little nervous. Arthur noticed that these people were about his age. He thought that he would be tested alone, or at least not with so many others.
Arthur was asked to sit down, so he found a chair and opted for an empty seat in the central area. He sat there alone, without anyone daring to sit right next to him. He ignored the fact and continued to wait for everyone to finally be there.
