Leah's tale before being the Executioner was explained. but we haven't talked about her tale as the Executioner, before Beau was part of her life.
Leah woke up on a game named, 'Greek Ancestors.' the game isn't important. what is important is that Leah, the Executioner had to follow a man. she walked on his shadow until she arrived at a meadow. the man turned around to faced her. he smiled expecting an honorable death.
the man was smart. he knew that Ferryman had something against him. probably because he stole from him, or because he tried to burned his bar. the man peacefully took a black sword out of his inventory.
that day the sky was on a light blue tone. the sky was bright. the weather was warm. it felt like a perfect day to be alive. jet not everything can be perfect. two people are facing each other. two people about to fight each other.
"are you another one of his personal assassins? I send to the Jewish hell the first one. I also broke the neck of the one who came before you."
"don't worry I am the last one. because I am the one who will take your life."
the man said something. perhaps it was his name. on his face didn't show. jet on his heart it was clear. this is truly the last assassin they send after him.
the man runs towards her. he attacks with no hesitation. then his sword breaks. he keeps attacking without taking a single step back. he screams with rage. then he feels a pain on his stomach.
the man finally gives two steps back. he can feel a liquid running out of his stomach. he is bleeding a lot. he looks at the dagger the Executioner is holding. the man laughs.
"you'll are so blind to see. I don't blame you, but I do blame your incapability to see what is in front of your own eyes. I don't curse broken souls, but here is a warning. one day with your own hands you will kill the most important part of your heart."
before the man could say anything else, she stabs him on the neck. he falls on his knees as he bleeds out. he covers the wound on his neck with a hand. the Executioner walks away as the man dies slowly.
in such a beautiful day, that man died alone. was he good? was he evil? it isn't important as he died like a nobody. he died with no past nor future. but there is something that he didn't told her. he has the 'Oracle' Curse. he saw her tragic future before dying.
that same day Leah used the 'Elevator' to go to the next mission. there are four targets living on another game. as Leah/the Executioner stands on the elevator. she looks at the Ferryman who is talking with someone. Leah felt so many confusing emotions.
she didn't regret killing that man. jet there was something on her heart. after leaving the 'Elevator' she walked with another two Executioners. they all had a different job. Leah went to a bar first. there she looked at two man.
she gave them beer with poison. she talked to them. they started to throw up blood. a tear dropped from Leah's eyes. she felt horrible for their death. it was too cruel. she was starting to realized that she wasn't one of the good guys, she was on the other side.
she left the bar. then she walked on a dark night. her life was chaos, it was like a fire storm that is eating all the life from its surroundings. that is the curse of her life. the world can be cruel to some.
the next person was a cheerful lady. the Executioner pushed her from a cliff. she felt on a really nasty nest of monsters. she was eaten alive.
the next person was an old man. she followed him. when the time was right. Leah stabbed him from behind. this time she was laughing on a sinister way. her face seemed distorted by the evil within.
Leah had accepted who she was, or what she represented. then she went after the next one on the list. that person was sleeping. with no mercy she murdered them. she couldn't see if it was male, or female. all she saw was the blood.
after that she took another four lives while they were sleeping. the Executioner, was no longer human at heart. then one day she was told to follow Beau Nguyen. and when the time be right, to execute him.
she was only able to meet him on Son of Sun. she was careful at all moment. she approached his friends on internet first. then she started to casually talk to him. slowly, step by step she entered on his life. at first he was only a target.
jet something happened. she shouldn't had ever met him. she shouldn't had accepted the target so easily. slowly, second after second his personality, his warm heart. she started to fall for him, she felt in love without even knowing it.
she denied herself the opportunity to accept those emotions. she was on denial. she asked the Ferryman for another target. she used excuses to get away from him. it was too dangerous for her, he was too dangerous by unleashing her emotions.
she pretended to be indifferent towards his emotions. she pretended to not know, or to not care about it. he was a simp, he wasn't the best person out there, nor he had a nice personality, jet there was something.
as days went by. she tried to put a distance. Leah refused to accept her emotions. the time passed like if it was sand. she knew the moment was coming. soon, she will be told to kill him. she couldn't avoid her emotions anymore.
then came the day Beau became part of this world. Leah was terrified. she knew what will happened next. there is no return from this.
that day she was by herself on the road. she looked at the zombies and 'Offerings.' she then looks at Beau, who is running away from a giant dog with three heads. Leah laughed as she looks at him. she walks by herself.
she hears footsteps coming from behind. she turns around. she looks at the Ferryman. he grabs her from the neck. he takes her to a dark alley.
"you aren't doing your job. your job is to keep your eyes on the prey at all time. when the time is right you must kill him."
"sir, with all do respect. if I get too close to him now, he might suspect something. I need to keep the idea of him being my hero, and me being the princess on the castle. if I act out of tone things won't go right, sir."
Ferryman leaves. Leah feels conflicted. she then thinks, 'maybe once he is dead, all the emotions are going to die as well.' she was too naive at the moment. she didn't knew about the future, or about the mistake on her ideas.
soon it was day time. Leah was just walking by herself when she heard screams. she follows the screams. Hunter was running away from some zombies. Hunter seemed to be acting strange. he looks at the zombies.
Leah kills the zombies. she then looks at him. Hunter smiles at her. he asks for her username while he laughs. she tells him. Hunter looks at her surprise. he then stops laughing as he realized something. he seems sad.
there is something that Hunter wants to say. he seems to hesitate. he then stands up. he is about to leave. he is stop by Leah.
"you are not dead! you are alive! how can you be here?"
"last night my best friend died. he died and I couldn't save him. I was too weak, too stupid. I am so sorry to see that you are here as well. it must mean that you also died on the real world. it is so tragic. so horrible."
"we both know Beau, let's be on a team together."
"thanks, I like that idea. well miss I will try to not be an obstacle."
that was Leah's first time meeting Hunter. that was their first conversation. simple, but even then she could tell Hunter cared for his friend. he was a great man. many months later Hunter died. when that happened Leah was sad.
Leah saw Hunter as a good man. as the only person who could saved Beau, saved him from the Executioner. maybe killing Beau was truly her destiny. she told herself.
some time before Hunter's death; Leah had the opportunity to be alone. the Ferryman came to see her. Leah asked him to let another finish the job.
"you weren't the only one to be given the target. there are another two. one died during a battle. the other one isn't jet an Executioner. this is his first job. you are the only one who can finish the job. I need you to do what you must do."
"I don't think I can sir, I care for that mortal soul. he is special. he is nice. I am having feelings for him, I am afraid my feelings will become stronger than my will to finish the job. I am sorry sir. I had failed you. I am not worthy of the Executioner title."
"you stupid little mortal. you will do it, because I tell you to do it. you have no choice. you have to tell your self first. what are you? a weak mortal unworthy of any title, or the great Executioner."
just like that Leah was denied any choice. she had to decided. both Beau and her position as an Executioner were important. she wanted to keep both. jet she needed it to make a choice. and soon the decision was taken.
she could feel her own rage. the rage of betraying the one person, the only person who was important to her. the only person who was nice. the only person she ever loved. she felt like she was betraying herself. but it was too late.
Leah accepted that she was in love. she accepted her place as the Executioner. there is nothing left to talk about. it is clear what happened after.
but before we end this chapter on her story. lets talk about the last night. the last time she was able to hold his hang. that night in which she felt loved and sorrow. the night before the big tragedy. she could feel it on Beau's words. he knew.
that night was so special to her. they spend other nights of intimate, personal, physical expressions of love. but this night was different. Beau's words trying to console her. his voice, his actions, it was perfect.
that was a night that will live forever on Leah's mind. she won't forget. she will remember forever who was her lover, who was the person on her heart. she won't even try to forget Beau, this is her punishment. an eternal pain full of regret.
now on the actual time. let's talk about the struggle. the storm burning her from inside. the feeling that is drowning her on her tears. she looks at the blade covered on blood. a pain is felt on her chest. tears fall almost forming a lake.
there is a never ending struggle among her emotions. rage, sorrow, guilt, hate, love. there are many things eating her from inside. she looks at her own tears. she is surprise to realized that she has being crying. Beau has helped her to become human again.
there are some steps from behind. Leah turns around. the Ferryman is staring at her. he frowns with anger. he seems to be disappointed about her. she did a good job, jet her heart is too human. she is just a broken emotional mortal.
"you don't have any right to judge me. I am an Executioner, but I am also his lover. I did what you asked from me. you won't get any better mindless obedient fool, not one like me who did what I did. even when it was against my own heart."
"then you better grow up. you all mortals are too emotional. you are all too fragile. you all are too weak. you all should be grateful. cleans those tears. I will come back later."
"I don't know if I am soulless, mindless, heartless, or just a fool. how can I be here when I am just a tool for a corrupted Deity. you are too cruel, just like every other Deity."
