Joaquin slashes four Leprechauns on squares on seconds. the more things Joaquin kills with that machete. the sharper it becomes. it is an incredible weapon like no other. it may had a defect or two. but so far none has been found.
Karl for his part went berserk on a herd of Leprechaun Zombies. he slaughters them all at a fast speed without stopping. Karl becomes a whole beast. it is obvious that he is one of the strongest fighters on the game.
Federico is sitting on a chair. from there he starts shooting at the zombies. as soon as he runs out of bullets. he reloads his pistols. then keeps shooting. there is no rest. in every blink Federico pulls the trigger.
the one who is struggling the most is Chicken Wrath. there are too many zombies surrounding him and he acts too slow. without saying more. Chicken Wrath is one of the weakest members of the guild. even so he is the most trustworthy of them all.
Beau is in a corner struggling as much as ever. there is nothing new nor old in there. while he fights Beau thinks about all the concubines he will have once he wins the game and gets back home. of course he is forgetting his lack of charm and popularity.
Leah is using a crossbow. it is cheap, jet truly effective. every Leprechaun that is hit by an arrow falls dead. Leah has plenty of arrows to use. while she keeps killing the Leprechaun Zombies, she looks at Beau for a second. Leah blushes.
the number of Leprechauns is getting reduce by half. the farmers feel relief and gratitude towards their saviors. the number of Leprechauns keeps falling as their pride and fighting spirit falls. some Leprechauns even run away.
as the corpses of the Leprechauns keep falling. the six mortals feel stronger. they feel like their strength is going to take them far. the battle is soon to be over.
Joaquin looks at the dead zombies around of him. he looks at every leg, arm, or head that he cut off clean. he just realized that he was covered on their blood. some could even say that he looks terrifying.
Federico reloads his gun with the final bullets he has left. the makes every single one of those bullets count. once he runs out of bullets, Federico finally stands up. he walks carefully as he uses a simple sword to cut down more Leprechauns.
Karl looks at the mountain of zombie corpses under his feet. he throws away his weapon as he breathes loudly. the zombies don't even get closer to him. they are all terrifying of Karl's insane strength.
Chicken Wrath even struggles with four zombies. while he wounds one. the other three laugh at him as they attack. it is a miracle that Chicken Wrath wasn't wounded badly. he is more confident now with less zombies.
Beau is done with his part. he takes a bottle of water from a backpack. he drinks the whole bottle. he throws away the bottle. his eyes are concentrated on the bright sun. there are some memories here and there about the past.
Leah is cleaning blood from a dagger that she is holding. there is some pain on her chest as she slowly looks at Beau's face. she can't believe that she is falling in love for that lovely fool. her future was already predetermined as there was only one outcome.
the final Leprechaun falls dead.
the farmers are given the gold. the farmers celebrate having a big banquet. they invite their saviors to celebrate. Joaquin said no.
now that the special event is over they need to return to their home. it was much easier than the previous Special Event. the price may be smaller. and even so there are many more upcoming Events to bring riches and glory.
so at the end of the day. this isn't the end. it is just part of the beginning of an everlasting passage with great rewards. the greater the risks, the greater the achievements will become.
at the given time neither Joaquin, nor Federico. not even Karl was aware of what was to come later on their journey. no one was sure of their destiny.
as they get ready to return. they all have a conversation about different things. there was peace on the air then.
Leah stops Beau. she whispers some words on Beau's ear. she then walks away, as Beau grabs her hand and pulls her closer to him. Beau kisses her with passion and burning desire for her skin. they look at each other's eyes.
"I know that I am a fool. but I want to be your fool."
"are you sure about that? I can be your end."
"since when has love been easy? love in general is a dangerous beast."
as Beau and Leah had a moment of romance. everyone else was looking away. there are a man who hold his girlfriend's corpse, a widower, a guy who was dumped 14 times, and a man who is having struggles with his ancient almost immortal girlfriend.
Chicken Wrath makes some stupid jokes. everyone looks at him with desperation as they see coming an upcoming torment by Chicken Wrath's awful jokes.
that was one of their final days as a team before everything went to hell. who could believe that everything was laughs and jokes. none of them knew how bitter and sadistic will become their fate.
maybe, just maybe Leah had an idea. but even she had no idea. not everyone was condemn to a sad pitiful end. even so we have to acknowledge how gray is the world in which they are living. there is some white and black, but mostly gray.
going back to that time. they eventually arrived at the base.
everyone else was busy doing their own thing. whenever there is an event. everything related to the chapter task is put on hold. so those who don't participate on the event are basically on vacations. they are free.
Beau and Leah are holding hands. they look at each other. there are some sighs and a lot of blushing in between. you can feel and see their love.
you can be many things. you can do many things. but you can't conceal from yourself forever who you truly are. sooner than later your true self is exposed on the plenitude of your ugliness at daylight for you to see for yourself. then you won't be able to hide it.
the world itself isn't ugly nor cruel. it us the human actions that defines what true cruelty is on its abundance. Deities and Mortals alike had turn this world into the dark and dangerous place that it is now.
Joaquin is by himself smoking. Federico walks behind him. Federico asks for a cigar. he doesn't like smoking. but that is a perfect excuse to start a conversation with Joaquin.
"what do you think about them, as the leader. are you sure they can survive in this cruel and cold place? are you sure they have what it takes to fight for themselves. if you asks me, I am not sure. even to me it is hard to take a single step."
"you're underestimating them. they're much stronger of what you can ever be. the issue is that you're blinded by a fog on your eyes. whatever is your goal. it is blocking your sight. you won't value the beauty of things until it's too late."
Federico stays silent. he didn't expected much from Joaquin. he has always thought that Joaquin is weaker. he has looked down on their leader. now he sees for himself that there is some strength on Joaquin.
Federico starts to talk about random things related to his past. he told Joaquin about certain moments of his childhood. little things that seem as nothing, jet to Federico those things are everything. that side of his childhood is everything.
Joaquin hates Federico so much that he didn't notice the hints of Federico's melancholia that was inhabiting his soul. Federico was starting to lose his way since then. maybe if someone had said something or done something things would had become different.
but no one will ever know. it isn't relevant as it didn't happen. only time will tell if anything at all was inevitable. or it was already written down somewhere on a rock. once more only time will know.
sadly Joaquin wasn't the only one who didn't notice anything strange about Federico. everyone else was dealing with their own struggles. Federico was all alone as he was part of a whole group. and none of them is close enough to know Federico.
we could say that this was the beginning of a person's rise to villainy. and unlike other villainous people on the field, Federico isn't a complete idiot. Federico is the type of person who can become truly terrifying if he becomes your enemy.
back to that point on time. Beau and Leah were starting to get closer. they started to admit how real their feelings for each other are. at the same time Joaquin was there for everyone to guide them on the right path.
the Guild was on its glory then. those were the good old times. there was some struggles and issues here and there. but mostly, everyone was on harmony. they all expected the impossible to become possible.
Dog-B and Cat-G were alive then. they were all over the moon showing their romance to the others to feel envy. everyone use to trust on each other to move forward.
maybe talking about the old times can't undo the present. but it works as a reminder of what can be lost if nothing is unavoidable at all. how cruel and cold can become the present in comparison with the warmth of the past.
maybe there are things that are over-exaggerated. jet the truth is that everyone was on their best mental state then. now they are all falling apart, piece by piece. and soon there will be nothing left of the Hero Guild Bravo-Holy Mommy-One.
at that point Beau and Leah were the leads of our tale, but as soon as they left their position open for vacancy. Federico, Joaquin, and Karl took those positions. from now on whatever happens will be mostly related to those three.
none of those three has a perfect white nor black shape. all three of them are painted on an uneven gray tone. some sides are darker, others are lighter. but they are absolutely and completely gray on every part of their being.
once I remark the phrase that started our tale. Beau was the beginning, but he was never suppose to be the end. he was just a part of the tale without becoming the tale.
and now that the tale is on its second half it was about time to reintroduce those who will keep the tale alive till the end. those who will tell chapters or even volumes of pain about what they feel or think.
well it seems like it is about time to finally go back to the present. leaving on the past the fallen heroes. so they may be remember or forgotten depending of their struggles and their achievements.
Federico will be the name that will stay on your lips till the end.
and even so there is a probability that Karl and Joaquin will also make an impact with their choices and actions to come.
now let's talk about Joaquin and the ghosts of the past that he has to face. the phantoms who eat from his guilty conscious. as there comes a question, does he truly feels guilt? or is it just the fear of been exposed as a morality broken being?
one of those phantoms has a name and a high position to bring horror to Joaquin's face. he believed that the past was buried. but nothing stays on the dirt for too long on this world that insist on causing pain to others.
