In a world full of psychopaths

Violet looked around analyzing the current situation. By the looks of it, she could tell that the purpose of the men was only to distract the attention of others while Evan Savine escapes into the crowd of cloaked men, faking his kidnapping by the them. Seeing that others could manage to handle the situation, she went to where she had left the kid.


He was a 3-year old, had jet black hair and red eyes and appeared to be exhausted. Not wasting a second, Violet started emergency treatment, asking Ana to call the doctor in the meantime. The child was breathing heavily, making her even more nervous. She tried her best to take care of the dark mana, while tending to his wound.


"The doctor is here!", Ana exclaimed as the doctor was immedietly brought to the patient.


"Doctor I have already taken out the dark mana that had thankfully not intermixed with his body", she informed the doctor in a serious tone. The doctor after checking on his wound prescribed some potions and left after bandaging him.


"Thanks to your quick treatment, he is not in any kind of danger. He should get a rest for few days and he will be as good as he was before", the doctor assured Violet in a soothing tone. Hearing it from him made her relieved. She thanked him as she sent him off. Opposite to what she had thought, it took quite a lot of time to deal with the kid since it was her first time using her mana to save someone.


"What's the situation outside?", asked Violet as she treaded outside with Ana following her lead.


"It's all over now. But there's a issue", said Ana in a reluctant tone.


"The king has ordered for an explanation about today's matter, is that it?". Violet felt an headache coming with all the cleaning work her brother had left to her. She had no idea as to how she could face the emperor.


"I want to you give me an report on how Evan managed to fool all of you, he even had the guts to escape in front of all those guests. Is that clear?", Violet roared angrily, slamming the wall beside her. It was her first day of taking on her duties as a duke officially, yet she was made a fool by her brother. 


Violet had actually foreseen this possibility as she had information about his secret guild 'Asis'. He had formed it when he was quite young and had managed to bring it to the top, gaining power day by day. She would have been helpless, with the same thing being repeated, even if she had known his plan beforehand. Up till now, Violet had only been a duke in name, having no authority of her own. Someone as weak as her could never stop him from doing what he wanted. Currently, the most important matter on her hand was to deal with the emperor.


Ana returned to Violet after few mintues with a report in her hands. 


"No casualities except the one lying in the bed right now. The guests have been safely sent back and the king was escorted back by the Royal Squad", Ana gave a short account of the day's incident. Violet was at ease finding after listening to it. 


Being worn out by, she dismissed Ana with an intention to rest early. Seeing the kid sleep so peacefully, a smile rose on her face. She lied on the sofa entering the world of dreams. When she woke up it was already noon. After washing up she entered her study to think of a solution to deal with the things.
