Competition Begins

"Attention everyone! I am Deacon Jin. I will be overseeing today's competition. First, everyone will be allotted numbers randomly. Those with the same number will battle with each other. If you win your battle, you will proceed to the next round. There are around 200 disciples. After 4 rounds, the final 16 will be selected. All these individuals will get rewards."

The moment rewards were announced, everyone's attention was grasped.

"The rewards are

1st Place - Spirit Warrior Breakthrough Pill, Middle-Grade Spirit Artifact

2nd Place - Spirit Warrior Breakthrough Pill, Low-Grade Spirit Artifact

3rd Place - Spirit Warrior Breakthrough Pill

4th to 16th Place - Qi Enhancing Pill

You will get your numbers now!"

Yin Xiu saw a bunch of tokens fly out and land in the disciple's hands. Yin Xiu looked at the token in her hand. It had the number 4. She looked around and saw that there were 8 rings. On top of each ring was a number representing which person had to go to fight. The number 4 was on the ring in the middle.

Yin Xiu went to the ring and saw that her opponent was a burly teenager. She was slightly intimidated by his figure and looked around to see if she could find any support in her master.

She saw that her master was sitting along with the elders and looking at her. His face showed no expressions. Yin Xiu wanted to go to him and ask him for suggestions but knew that he had already taught her a lot.

Yin Xiu took out her sword and stood in front of her opponent. The referee was a Senior Disciple in the Spirit Master Stage who would ensure that nothing would happen to the participants.

"Good Day Sister. I am Long Hu, a 7th Stage Spirit Apprentice."

Yin Xiu suddenly felt relieved. At least, according to cultivation, she had an advantage over this person. She still couldn't be complacent though. According to her master, there were innumerous people who could cross realms when fighting.

"I am Yin Xiu, a 9th Stage Spirit Apprentice."

Yin Xiu's words surprised all the Elders who were watching. While they could see other's cultivation, that was only of that person was in front of them. Yin Xiu was far that they couldn't see her cultivation but could still hear her.

The person who was shocked the most was Zhang Bo. He knew that Yin Xiu had been in the 7th stage a month ago. But he only expected that she would go to the 8th stage with the help of some precious treasures from her master. He didn't expect that she would reach the 9h Stage. This posed a problem as his disciple was also a 9th stage and so she posed some risk.

"Elder Zhang. Didn't you agree that your disciple should fight mine? I think that having them simply fight will be boring. How about a small wager?"

Zhang Bo heard Chen Jiang's words and smiled. So what if the girl was a 9th stage Spirit Apprentice? She probably became one due to some pills and didn't have a solid foundation.

"I also agree, Elder Chen. What do you propose?"

Chen Jiang smiled.

"You 34th Mountain is famed for the cultivation of precious herbs. How about you wager the 1000-year-old Ice Spirit Grass?"

Zhang Bo's face turned ugly. The 1000-year-old Ice Spirit Grass was very precious.

"And what do you propose from your side, Elder Chen?"

Chen Jiang smiled.

"I think that I will put a High-Grade Spirit Artifact down."

Zhang Bo's frown turned upside down. The High-Grade Artifact was slightly more precious than the 1000-year-old Ice Spirit Grass.

"I accept Elder Chen. Why don't we have Grand Elder Lu supervise this?"

Chen Jiang nodded. He took out a Fan from his spatial ring and put it down. Zhang Bo, meanwhile, called for one of his disciples to go to his courtyard to collect the Herb.

The disciple returned shortly and brought the 1000-year-old Ice Spirit Grass. Zhang Bo and Chen Jiang looked at the Grand Elder.

"Haha. This seems very interesting. I will take these items and give them to the winner of this wager."

Grand Elder Lu collected the objects into his spatial ring and went back to watching the duels.

Meanwhile, Yin Xiu was preparing to fight Long Hu. She put her sword in position and waited for the fight to begin.

The referee quickly announced, "Begin!"

Yin Xiu used the one move that her Master had taught her - Sword Draw. A wave of Qi released from her sword and smashed Long Hu away from the ring. Everyone who was watching the duel was speechless at how effortlessly she finished the match.
