Unbeknownst to humans, there are two worlds: The Real World, and the Underworld called the Purple Sea. Uriel, a self-proclaimed book addict was just reading by the fountain, unaware of how late it was. It was April 27. At exactly 11:27pm, a full moon occurred and the water at the fountain turned purple, a sign that the portal to the Purple Sea has been opened. It swallowed him down, way down into the Underworld. When he came back to the Real World, he was different. He had Aquakinesis, the power to manipulate water. But not only that, he also became King of the Purple Sea.

My Accidental Power

Without memories of my Mama, the only time I remember her is every Halloween, which we celebrate every October 31st of the year, as well as November 1st, during All Souls Day. Coincidentally, Halloween is also my Mama's death anniversary. When she gave birth to me on September 12, 1994, she had complications and got very ill after giving birth. She died not long after, during the end of the following month, which was October 31st.


I always forget her face because we don't have any pictures of her at home. My Papa's pictures of her with me have been kept at Mama's hometown in Nueva City. It's a small city two hours away from The Pilgrim. I never asked Papa why he didn't keep any pictures of her at our home, but I guess that was understandable. Marie, Robin, and Hailey's mother, his second wife, must not have liked that. But that was only my assumption.
