Unbeknownst to humans, there are two worlds: The Real World, and the Underworld called the Purple Sea. Uriel, a self-proclaimed book addict was just reading by the fountain, unaware of how late it was. It was April 27. At exactly 11:27pm, a full moon occurred and the water at the fountain turned purple, a sign that the portal to the Purple Sea has been opened. It swallowed him down, way down into the Underworld. When he came back to the Real World, he was different. He had Aquakinesis, the power to manipulate water. But not only that, he also became King of the Purple Sea.

My Accidental Power

<p>December is a peak season for businesses, including our bookstore. People are buying gifts for Christmas and lots of them buy books or art materials as gifts for their loved ones. Or maybe not just their loved ones. Some kids, teens, or young adults, whether friends, classmates, or colleagues, are required to buy gifts for 'Manito Manita,' or 'Secret Santa.' It's when you draw lots to pick who's the recipient of your gift. I've always thought it was a ridiculous tradition because giving gifts should be sincere and not mandatory, and that you should only give it to the one you care for. But what the heck, we're making more than our average daily sales, so it's all good.</p>
