Messages bombarded her in the morning when she woke up from sleep. Yesterday she was discharged from her original job becuase of some health problems but Egam only laughed at that as she slowly figured out the truth.
(to think that the Venus guild also pays attention to their low ranking hunters, health problems my ass, it wasn't permanent... They only did that so they could remove me from my original job in order to give me more time for hunter work, it's not like I hate their decision but I don't believe that the guild would go that far)
The morning sun was out and an empty day emerged, she had plenty of time to think about her next move. One thing hasn't changed though, everyday she has to live through the thought of having an actual system of her own creation which gave her uneasy feelings as there were times when she felt that the system was not her own self but something else instead.
(hereditary instincts ... why? I don't know much about my parents... Why did the system.. Or should I say "me" say hereditary.. Do I know something that I don't know? Urgh that's confusing)
Her mind was working its hardest to even grasp the concept, not even the cold milk she prapared for morning was enough to make her relax.
(what did I get from my parents? If this thing tells me that what happened to me was hereditary... I don't remember my parents doing hunter work)
Suddenly a screen popped up which slapped her back to reality.

I'm not in favor of getting my life controlled by some system I no longer trust but, I don't have much options that could change anything.. It looks like I have no choice but to get to level 100... "coming!" Egam shouted immediately as she heard the knocking
This was an opportunity to fill out her empty day, with her original job gone she had too much free time on her hands but as she opened the door it seems like more free time was given to her.
It was nothing but a pure white letter on the floor.

(... Wait.. Do I have a stalker?! I don't hear anyone nearby)
She swiftly grabbed the letter and looked around the area just in case. As she opened the letter she was a bit at a loss for words, everything inside was clean and it had a minimal design and most importantly, it had the symbol of the Venus guild which was a head and the shoulders and sword laid flat in the middle, separating the eyes.
(is this about the last raid? The raid team and the guild did make irresponsible decisions by letting us go in a strong E rank gate, and the raid "leader" in the raid team went in the gate despite being short in members)
"and it's also my fault for going in.." She mumbled to herself
"hmm?"
In the empty space in front of her there was a glowing trail of dust that lead all the way to the top of a building just nearby her apartment, she wasn't sure but her body kept telling her that it was mana as if her body was suddenly changed in order to see mana in a clearer form.
Her eyes were immediately glued to the interesting sight as she followed the mana trail that was completely unmoving despite the heavy winds pushing the trees nearby but not the glowing mana trail however once she has seen the end of the trail, there was nothing to be seen.
(that's odd, judging by the situation someone gave this to me and left quickly.... "Send this letter to any venus guild employee at your nearby venus guild building") she read the letter out loud inside her head

(did she just follow my mana trail? Maybe it's just a coincidence... Wait is she looking at me right now?... Oh never mind, I thought she was an E rank there's no way anyone under A rank would see through my stealth... maybe the guild made a typo in the rankings, well that doesn't matter... I can't believe the guild would send an A rank hunter to do mail delivery, I don't see the reason why the guild would even bother doing this, we'll I'm not a diplomat so I probably don't understand)
After that short break the mailman went to the next target as he hopped between rooftops while leaping unimaginable heights in the process like a true superhuman.

"excuse me, this letter.." Egam asked a janitor working for the venus guild
"oh.. Well follow me I guess"
"to where?" she asked before following the man
"the boss's office... ehh, that's what I've been told if anyone showed this specific letter"
It was a small building but the atmosphere was still intense for Egam, the tight hallways and the constant asmr keyboard typing inside each room they passed by gave her the chills and for a second she thought that she was going to an interview with the boss directly. After a couple of tense minutes they reached a dark door at the end of the hallway.

"I got the letter, I'll be leaving now" the janitor informed with a clear voice as he gave the letter back to Egam
Soon the janitor faded away as he went further down the hallway leaving Egam to fend for herself.
"sit down" the man behind the desk said firmly and clearly
"y-yes (yo what the fuck is happening)"
Egam sat on the chair that was in front of the desk, despite having a visitor the boss was fully focused with his work.
"read this" the boss said as he kept working
"this?
"yes read it carefully"
