The final part of the "Shadows of Kalos" assault was taking place in Marinburg. We are facing the great bank of the city, where much of the fighting took place between the thieves and the city guards and his white knights of sol, both led by Ghenda, while at the same time he was facing a powerful opponent.
'Who expected you to lead the assault on the city?' Ghenda thought as he hit his enemy.
"So you are the famous Ghenda, the girl who managed to become a platoon commander at a young age." the opposing woman spoke as she parried Ghenda's blows.
The woman Ghenda fights against is a human being with black hair that reaches just below the shoulders, she had orange eyes mixed with red with black irises. She had a mask that covered her nose and mouth. She dressed in a way not quite in the style of the continent of Kalos. She held in both hands two medium-length daggers colored both gray and black. And from them came a kind of pink flame mixed with purple with shades of smoke.
"And you are Vanessa ... the famous assassin of the 'Shadows of Kalos', the right hand of the master of the faction. If someone like you is here the matter is more serious than we thought." Ghenda was now on the defensive, parrying Vanessa's blows.
"Oh, am I such a famous woman? How wonderful!" Vanessa was pushing Ghenda even more on the defensive.
'Curse! we are both at the same grade and the same core, but I can't deal with it on an equal footing. 'Ghenda was not in a good position, Vanessa found herself a more serious threat than it seems.
But the situation was not only bad for Ghenda. The guards were in a sorry state and the white knights of Sol, who should have been the strongest part of the defense, were no better off. Some lay motionless on pools of blood, others writhed in the ground or escaped to safety. Only a few remained standing, the thieves of the enemy faction were the direct subordinates of Vanessa, so they were on the same level as the white knights but their difference was the quantity. They were in 1/5 ratio, the strength of the thieves was five times greater than the knights, not to mention hundreds of other villains who were on par with the city guards.
'This is not good, we are in a difficult situation!' Ghenda was in an extreme situation, he could not think of a solution ... it is not even known if there was a solution to this threat.
"Young commander, are you in bad shape or am I wrong? I think the end of your short and glorious military campaign has come for you." she couldn't be seen because of her mask, but right now Vanessa was smiling sadistically.
"I will not give up just because I am at a disadvantage! If I have to die so be it, but I will play everything for everyone". as he walks away from Vanessa, Ghenda was about to make a move.
"Miss Vanessa, we took what we needed from the museum." suddenly a thief appears behind Vanessa carrying news with him.
"It was about time, then we have what we need. We announce the retirement to everyone. There is no longer any reason to stay here". Vanessa orders her follower to go immediately to her companions.
'Museum?! wasn't their target the bank? 'Ghenda interrupts what he was about to do after hearing that news.
"Too bad miss. Commander but our fun ends here, and now that we say goodbye but don't worry we'll see each other again ... I'm sure." Vanessa starts running towards the city walls to escape.
"Wait! We're not done!" Ghenda went immediately behind her, but was stopped by a dozen thieves from the enemy faction.
'Slaughterhouse meat, to slow me down has no qualms about sacrificing his followers.' Ghenda was outraged by the way Vanessa treated her men.
While Vanessa fled, Ghenda was busy fighting the thieves. Within minutes, all the thieves of the "Shadows of Kalos" faction had fled the city. Ghenda was reorganizing the troops that could still fight and she immediately put doctors to work for the wounded.
'How many defeats ... I did not expect such a high number of opponents, but above all their strength'. Ghenda thought of the defeat suffered but above all he thought of Vanessa's strength. She clenched her fists in frustration.
"Commander Ghenda, our scouts have inspected the surroundings of the walls and the edges of the forest ... but we have found nothing, neither enemies nor traces of their direction of escape." a soldier reports a report to Ghenda.
"Okay, not sending any more scouts would be useless. Concentrate all your strength on public reorganization and medical relief." Ghenda commands the soldier.
"Yes commander!" the soldier went to report the order.
'Of the fifty white knights of Sol, fifteen remained standing, twenty-five wounded and ten dead. Hundreds of city guards died, more were injured and few are still standing. What a deplorable situation ... I'm a disappointment as a commander.' Ghenda got depressed thinking about his failures.
"Ghenda". the commander heard a voice from behind, he immediately turned to see an old acquaintance, it was none other than Digna, the dwarf.
"Noble Digna, what happens?" Ghenda greets the dwarf lady.
"I have to talk to you for a moment ... it's important. But first I wanted to know, did Asteri's group come back from the mission?" Digna asks with a worried nod, which is rare for her.
"No, we haven't heard from them yet, has something serious happened?" Ghenda was beginning to worry.
"That's just what I would like to know, if something happened to him ... I would feel a burden on my conscience." Digna closes his eyes.
"Are you by any chance talking about us?" suddenly a voice comes a short distance from them. The owner of the voice was none other than Asteri with Gustav's corpse under his arm and accompanied by the two women.
