The group reached Quisque in the late afternoon. They thanked the coachman and headed to the tavern where they were staying.
"Finally home, even if it's not really like that but it's where we live so I assume it is." Allatu says.
"Home is a name you want to give to an environment that you feel comfortable in, so I assume that yes, this is our home, at least for the moment." Asteri replies.
They reached the tavern, greeted the landlord and immediately entered the room.
"Well, first I go to the guild, I have to announce the success of the mission." Asteri says 'even if I don't think so' but I immediately think in his head.
"Okay, we are waiting for you here. To pass the time we will talk between women." Allatu responds by taking Betty by the arm. Betty didn't seem bothered by this, which made Asteri happy.
Asteri left the room but found herself catching her attention with Shallistera, the orange-haired maid.
"Have a good evening Miss." greets Asteri with a smile.
"H-have a good evening to you esteemed guest. Are you back from the mission?" Shallistera was a little red just looking Asteri in the face, and she was a little shy.
"Yeah, we just got back, I was going to the guild to report things. I see you doing your job." Asteri had noticed that Shallistera had a basket with sheets inside her, most likely she was cleaning some room.
"Exactly, recently some guests have left the rooms so I take this opportunity to rupilare them." Shallistera looked at the basket.
"So you're the one who kept our room tidy and it's so clean, thank you for your work." Asteri nodded to thank her.
"No need dear guest, it's my job after all." Shallistera blushed even more.
"True, but there are people who, even if it's their job, don't really do it, unlike you. And you don't need to be so formal, call me Asteri." the boy did not want all these formalities from Shallistera.
"So if you let me, Asteri can I ask you a question?" Shallistera seemed curious about something.
"Sure if I can answer." Asteri had no problems.
"I know it sounds saucy and too pushy, but I wanted to ask you those two women ... are they your wives?" Shallistera seemed intrigued by Allatu and Betty.
"You mean Allatu is Betty? Wives no, but companions yes. But in the future they will surely be ... but for now it is not the right time. But why this question?" Asteri also asked a question.
"O-Oh nothing, really nothing special, just pure curiosity. I'm sorry if I was a rude girl." Shallistera was apologizing embarrassed.
"Don't worry, nothing happened. I'm sorry to interrupt our chat, Shallistera, but I should go to the guild. I'm sure there will be more opportunities to talk, goodbye.
"Sure Asteri, goodbye to you too." Shallistera returns the greeting.
But Shallistera did not notice that a woman was spying and eavesdropping through the peephole of the door of the group's room. That woman had an idea and smiled in amusement.
"What do you have in mind, Allatu? You have a strange smile." Betty could only sigh when she saw Allatu's smile, she didn't know what she was doing in that spiteful succubus's head.
"Fun, only healthy is pure fun, my sister." that's all Allatu said.
Shallistera did not notice that she was being spied on by anyone, but the same could not be said of Asteri, but she said nothing and continued walking towards the guild.
'I wonder if I'll meet Thalia today, the last time I visited the guild she wasn't there.' Asteri was thinking about his favorite guild employee.
'Do you miss the female bunny so much? if you want you will find millions of rabbits in the forest. 'Aurelion told him sarcastically.
"Very funny companion, but no thanks." Asteri smiled as he mentally responded to his companion.
After a few minutes he reached the door of the guild, entered and found himself in front of the usual air of that environment. Adventurers who go, adventurers who come.
He immediately went to the counter where Thalia was supposed to be, and with Asteri's happiness she was there.
"Look who's there, the awesome busy woman of the guild." Asteri greets Thalia cheerfully.
"Asteri! You're back safe and sound, luckily I'm happy." Thalia she seemed happy to see Asteri.
"Of course I'm alive, why are you so upset?" Asteri asks.
"Stupid, what do you mean why? We know what happened in Marinburg. They've already sent letters to people who might find out what happened." Thalia looked sulky at Asteri's superficiality.
"Ahh, sure a big mess happened, but we were far away. Our location was a bit far from the city." Asteri explains.
"Well, then I'm relieved." Talia seemed calm.
"So you are so worried about me? This makes me very happy, my lady." Asteri joked with her.
"It's my job after all, don't be so proud of yourself." She taly she smiled as she said it.
"Oh right, I'm here to bring you mission success." Asteri gives Thalia a letter with the seal of the city of Marinburg, with the sheet signed by Digna inside.
"Perfect, even if we know what happened it is necessary to bring confirmation from the customer. Great job Asteri." Thalia gets up and takes the letter and this time instead of going behind that door they usually enter to confirm missions, she climbs the stairs to go upstairs.
'Where you go?' Asteri was curious but he could only wait.
After ten minutes, Thalia descends the stairs and returns to Asteri. But Asteri noticed that he had nothing in his hand, which is very strange.
"Asteri, our guild leader wants to see you in person. Please follow me." Thalia seemed to have a strange expression on her face.
"Sure no problem." Asteri had no problem meeting the guild leader. And follow Thalia.
'I'm finally about to meet the boss, I wonder what person he is.' Asteri thought in his mind as he climbed the stairs.
