Chapter 39: The Animal

"What the hell, Daniel?" She grasped the desk for support with one hand while holding the laptop with the other. It was a good thing Randy was genius enough to ensure the furniture was bolted down. "Jesus!" she screeched, hanging on for dear life.

"Just keeping you on your toes," he hollered from the driver's seat while driving like a mad man and cackling for effect.

Cassie flipped him the bird and struggled into her clothes. She sat at the desk and continued to watch the screen, hoping the mystery man would reappear. A few minutes later Daniel parked the van. He hopped into the back and leaned over her shoulder to watch the screen. His breath against her neck sent a trail of fire coursing through her body.

"Anything?" he said.
