The Wolf prowling across dimensions by Pandora's Reader

Just because Maccillian thinks or says something, doesn't mean it'll happen that way, or that he's right.

I've also noticed that I unintentionally made this saga more Hestia and Shizuka focused, so in the next world I think I'll have more pov shifts to Saya, and then Saeko and Rika for the world after that.

{A few hours later}

So after making sure Bell was at full, we went down to the basement, and did some tests with his semblance.

Turns out he kind of could use my powers. It was weird. Whenever he used his semblance, he had to focus on what ability of mine he wanted. Because for some reason, he didn't get everything and the kitchen sink. He had to choose, kind of like how Fenrir made me pick what I wanted.

Bell had the same options though.

Wolf form, my Gray Wolf form, not my new Gray Hellhound form. Hestia practically squealed like a child at his form though. Yeah it was a Gray Wolf, but with Bell's albino features, his fur was snow white, his eyes those gem like reds, and his features were super soft. He looked more like a albino husky than a wolf.

Aura constructs. Not at my level or anything, just the general ability to use them.

Gravity manipulation, which accidentally turned him into a member of the Silver clan without me having to bite him or do it the original way. But still, him somehow stumbling into the Silver clan and by proxy, the pack, was hilarious. Having to explain just what he got, especially the 'minor immortality' part, was less hilarious.

We figured out what it did though! He got a healing factor, like a knock off of Wolverine, but still good. Now, unless someone decided to melt Bell down before he healed it all, or tossed him into space, he'd be fine... For as long as his stamina held out that is. Because unlike ours, his regeneration didn't help him recover stamina, so he was kind of like a really nerfed Wolverine.

Then the last option was interesting. It was a nerfed version of my wrath, maybe a 1.5x boost with more strain then mine. It was interesting to see.

Though by the end of the tests, Bell was practically dead to the world, and we let him crash in his room. The rest of us were in the living room, just chilling, and talking about the festival.

The Monster Feria.

Hearing about it was interesting. There were four different parts to it.

The first part was all about the Ganesha familia and other tamers showing off the strongest monsters they tamed. There were different stages for their level ones, twos, and threes, so it wasn't just a one sided event.

The second was a tournament of said people using those monsters to compete in events, mostly things like races and stuff like that.

The third was a fighting tournament that worked like a weird pokemon battle/classic tournament arc. (If Freya doesn't fuck with it, that would be cool to see.)

And the last was a man vs monster portion. Because who didn't like good ol blood sport?

That aside, it was time to talk about the now instead of the event a week away.

After spending more time relaxing, Welf left, so it was just me, Lili and Hestia awake in the living room. Shizuka came back at one point, said Bete 'learned his lesson' then started to sleep while cuddling me.

And I wasn't sure where to go from there. Sure Lili and I took a step in the right direction, though I wasn't sure what to do next. I wanted to go full speed ahead, but I didn't know what Lili wanted to do.

Then there was Hestia. I wasn't blind and was reading the signs. She was crushing on me, I knew that, just not what to do with it. Especially with Lili and Shizuka literally right by my side. (Why am I hesitating though? I somehow stumbled into a harem before, I can figure this out... I think.) If I was going to do something, it had to be the right thing. (Time to once again, DEAL WITH IT LATER!) I internally nodded at that thought, and decided to think about anything else. Again, out of sight, out of mind.

And thankfully, something happened that required my attention. There was someone else coming over, and I looked over to the door before it was knocked on. (Wonder who it is.)

"It's open!" I blinked at that, and turned to Hestia.

She raised a brow at me, but I just had to say it. "Why did we leave the door open?" She shrugged, then looked at Shizuka.

"Well for one, she was the last one in, so it's not my fault." Point. "Two, nobody aside from our friends, your mates, or the guild will come here." Again, another point. "And three, if someone tried to pick a fight, I trust that you or Shizuka could keep us safe. Sure I don't know what that Sword of Damocles thing does, or what you can REALLY do, but I KNOW the safest place is wherever you are." I smiled at that, and ruffled her hair with another aura hand.

Hestia squawked, started swatting it away, when the person who knocked on our door came in. We looked at who it was, and I blinked. "Hey Eina. What's up?" I was pretty sure I didn't do anything to get fined again... (I think.) I was going to be pissed if the nice atmosphere we had going was ruined by being slapped with a fine.

Eina took in the scene, then just sighed. She had some papers in her hand, which from where I was sitting, had 'participation' written on one of 'em. "Due to the Monster Feria being a few days away, the guild has started dispatching attendants to register our adventurers for the man vs monster event." Huh.

"Considering we were just talking about that, I find this very convenient. But anyway, sign me the fuck up for the highest tier." Eina's eye twitched, and she just set the papers down on the nearest desk. The look of exasperation she gave me just confused me. "What?"

Eina grabbed the nearest chair, and sat down. "The event doesn't work like that Maccillian. Given your status as a level 1 adventurer, you're only eligible for the level 1 bracket. At MOST, you could be registered for the level 2 bracket, but that's as far as I can bend the rules." Huh?

"That's kinda bullshit. Everyone in this room knows I'm WAY stronger than a level 1." Hestia, Shizuka and Lili nodded, but Eina just sighed and took her glasses off.

"Oh I know. The guild knows as well. But we can't just make an exception for you Maccillian. The cries of favoritism and the backlash the guild would get for allowing you to compete in a higher tier would be enormous." Huh.

"And I can't do anything to go up a tier?"

Eina looked a little hesitant, but just sighed. "Unless you suddenly leveled up, then I can't get you placed in a higher tier."

I blinked. "... That's it? Deal." The room went quiet, and everyone just stared at me. "What?"

Hestia just blinked at me, and asked what I was assuming was on her, Eina and Lili's mind. "Why are you making leveling up sound like it's easy?"

I shrugged. "Because it is. If I really felt like it, I could've leveled up the day you gave me my falna." That just made Hestia blink, and I was pretty sure I saw the buffering symbol over her head. Lili just stared at me, didn't say a word, just stared. And I heard Eina groan and put her head in her hands. "The only reason I haven't gone to the lower floors is because I'm trying NOT to leave my girls behind... And I'm enjoying just relaxing." Eina started muttering into her hands, and I just grinned.

When she was done with that, she just raised her head to the ceiling, refusing to look at me. "If... If you level up by tomorrow, I'll be able to place you in the tier for level 2 adventurers." I grinned, and gently shook Shizuka, who was still conked out.

After a few seconds of shaking, she grumbled, and looked at me. "Yeees?" I gave her a smile, poked her cheek, then got her to let go. " Come back!" A part of my mind was always going to be amused that despite everything she's seen, she still calls me a pillow.

"I'll be back in a few hours. Think you can survive that long without me mo grá?" Shizuka grumbled a bit, but after grabbing Lili, and turning her into a body pillow, she nodded. That was all I needed. I got up, then turned to Houndoom. "You coming?" He just gave me an irritated huff, then laid his head back into his doggy bed. "Well fuck you too." He huffed at me again, but I just laughed and made my way out. "I'll be back when I'm back." A hum of acceptance from Shizuka was all I got. But it was fine.

I left the church, and started making my way to the dungeon. I'd level up, and then participate in a good old gladiator fight.

{Hestia's POV after Maccillian left}

('I could've leveled up the day you gave me my falna.' I'm underestimating all of them aren't I?) I saw Maccillian's status, the weird thing that it was, so I knew there was more to him then he was showing. I mean, there would have to be since our home was pretty much a fortress now. But I still didn't exactly know how strong he was. Whenever I asked him or the girls about it, they'd just grin at me, and brush it off.

It was kind of annoying. Like, REALLY annoying. What goddess didn't know what her children were capable of?

This one apparently.

I zoned back in when Eina just sighed, and got up. "I'll just leave the forms here. The deadline is the day before the Feria. Please remind him of that when he returns." Shizuka gave her a salute, then Eina left.

Now it was just Shizuka, Lili and I. Bell was still asleep in his room, so unless someone else was going to come over, it would ONLY be us... I looked over to Shizuka, hummed at the fact Lili was practically melting into her, and decided to try again. "Shizuka?" Both her and Lili looked over to me, and I had her attention. "Just how strong is Maccillian?"

Lili looked interested in this too, so HOPEFULLY, the two of us could get an answer out of her. Wishful thinking, but I wanted answers!

Shizuka hummed again, and I sent Lili a look. I wasn't good with the whole 'talk with your eyes' thing, but I could still try. 'Ask!' Lili just blinked at me, then looked up to her mother(?)

"Best Mama?" I had to stop myself from giggling at that. Shizuka bribed Lili with headpats and hugs so she'd get that name. Hearing it said was both adorable and SUPER amusing.

Shizuka blinked, looked down to meet Lili's gaze, and I knew then and there that it would work. Lili was, outside of Maccillian and the other girls, her biggest weakness. "Yes cutie pup?"

Lili blushed at the name, and I could feel the smile split my face. "How strong is papa?" My children were all too precious. Even if I had Lili for a week, she was already one of my children.

The mother daughter duo stared at each other, and I could see Shizuka struggling. Lili went the extra mile, and used the 'eyes' on Shizuka, and I knew we won. She sighed, and set her chin on Lili's head. "Silver's suuuper strong." And that was it.

(Ok... Maybe we should've asked someone else.) Lili and I shared a look, and we both must've shared that thought.

"Even now, Silver's the strongest boy in Orario." I heard that before, though Lili hadn't.

She went still, and just stared at Shizuka. "E-Even stronger than Ottar?" Shizuka just smiled, and hummed. Lili took that as a 'yes,' which it was, and started 'buffering' as Maccillian called it.

Though that gave me time to think. (Stronger than Ottar... How does someone even get that strong in the first place? What the hell did he do?) I wondered about that, and just zoned out to wrap my head around Maccillian's strength. Someone that strong chose me, and I wasn't sure I'd ever make it to him or Shizuka for doing that. (I'll figure something out... Eventually.) I was bad at planning gifts and all that, so that eventually was going to be real far away. (I think I'll just focus on the now... The now where one of my children has just leveled up, and another decided to go do it because he wanted to fight in an arena... My children are so troublesome... Hah...) Sinking into the couch, I decided to stop thinking about it.

Maccillian would come back eventually, that was all that mattered really.

{2 Hours later, Maccillian's POV}

"OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY!" The Bugbear reared up on its hind legs, and roared at me for that, but who cared? I was about to throw hands with a big bear monster. Sure I'd already slaughtered a bunch of them, and other monsters on my way to the 19th, but this fucker was bigger. "COME AT M...-" I blinked.

[Party invite from Yin Xiao-Long. Accept?] I blinked again, and did.

As soon as I did, I heard Yin's voice, and I zoned out from my fight. [Hey Macky, quick question. Should I revive Roman to get brownie points with Neo?]

~... The fuck?~ Yin snorted, and I kicked the Bugbear in its chest to push it back.

[Ok. Context. Neo somehow found out I could bring people back from the dead, don't ask how she did, because she didn't tell me. Turns out that because of you, she managed to get Roman's body, which somehow survived falling from the sky after the Griffin it was in died. So she got his body, buried him somewhere, then dug him back up and showed up on our doorstep like, 10 minutes ago. I don't really know what to do.] I listened in as a Fire Bird decided to come and shoot fire at me, which I just ignored and shot out a slash of aura to kill the bird.

~Well first off, hello Yin, I've been having a great time in Danmachi, and the other girls are doing good.~ I could FEEL the eye roll. Cheeky brat. ~Second, sure. Is anything really stopping you from doing it?~

[Not really. Roman was more 'swallowed' then he was chewed. Mix that with Grimm not having a stomach to dissolve him in, and the worst of it being his body being a few months old at best, I can do it. Sure there's the whole 'Roman and Neo being criminals' thing, but we literally live with Raven. That point doesn't really have much ground to stand on.] Point. [Anyway, I'll start getting ready for that... By the way, since you brought it up, how's Danmachi going? You've only been there for 2 weeks, so you couldn't have fucked things up that badly yet.]

My eye twitched at that, and I decided to double the gravity around me, forcing everything to the ground. ~For your information, I've only made things better. I'm now a father thank you very much.~

I was pretty sure Yin must've tripped or outright bust her ass after I said that, and it was amazing. [WHAT THE FUCK?! MACKY, WHAT DID YOU DO?!]

~HUH? THE FUCK ARE YOU ASSUMING I DID SOMETHING FOR?~

[BECAUSE I KNOW YOU!]

I paused, and just blinked. ~Touche kid. Touche.~

[Uhuh. By the way, because of you, I ended up shouting 'FATHER?' So now Yang's betting you knocked someone up, and Qrow's going along with that... Mom and Ruby are going with adoption... Dad's not betting, and Raven's just watching... Neo's confused though, but oh well. Now, answers Macky!]

I stomped and shot out aura chains at whatever was struggling to get up, and made the links into thorns so I could impale whatever they were curled around. ~So TLDR, I yoinked Lili off the ground, and 'surprise adopted' her. Shizuka decided to take that literally, so now Lili's my daughter.~

There was silence on Yin's end, and I grinned as everything around me died off. [So what you're telling me is that you kidnapped Lili, and Shizuka adopted her...I get that right?]

I just looked around, and sighed. ~It's 'surprise adoption' not kidnapping.~

[...Uhuh... Whatever you say Macky. Whatever you say... How's everyone else doing?]

~Good. Rika and Aisha are pretty much twins now. Saya's going mental in Athena's library. Saeko's having fun killing things and playing with children, and Shizuka's being Shizuka.~

[Cool. Bell and Hestia?]

~Bell leveled up a while ago, and Hestia's crushing on me.~

[... Ok... I'm going to ignore that second thing, and focus on the first. Isn't that early?]

~Yeah. Though to be fair, I've been training him, and he unlocked his semblance before he leveled.~

Yin paused again, and I hummed as I grabbed all the stones. [You gave him aura?]

~Well, yeah. Him, Welf, Shizuka did Lili's, and I gave a pack of Hellhounds aura.~

[... You tamed Hellhounds?]

~Yeah. Named mine Houndoom. He's an annoying fucker.~

[... I'll ignore the Houndoom part, and focus on the other half. He's basically you?]

I huffed at that. Yin must've heard it since she started laughing like mad. ~Shut up. Don't you have a criminal to resurrect?~

Yin stopped laughing, and just sighed. [Yeah... Fine. I'll go back to the plan of inviting you back in a month your time. That good?]

~Mhm. Talk to you later Yin.~

[Whatever. Bye Macky!] And then I got booted from the party. I couldn't leave it on my own, but having to be kicked was annoying.

I shook off my annoyance, and looked at my stats. After all the fighting and eating, I managed to get them high enough for a level.

"Huh... Ok." I looked around the area, saw everything that came after me while I was talking to Yin was dead, and shrugged. "Now to get back home..." I shifted, and started running. There wasn't any reason for me to stay here, I didn't care about Min-Maxing, so the sooner I was home, the better.

{45 minutes later}

(Light! Oh how I've miss...- Hello Ottar.) I just got out of the dungeon, still in wolf form, and locked eyes with 'The King' of Orario. I hadn't gone out of my way to meet with him or Freya, despite the tails they had sent after us, but I guess this was going to happen now. We looked at one another, him sizing me up, me just looking at the stuff he was carrying, and I just blinked. (Are they starting the thing that ends up becoming Aster... Is he even going to exist? Did I accidentally kill Asterius? Huh... Anyway.)

Ottar grunted, and just walked past me. Though I did see the annoyed look in his eyes as he did. (I haven't done anything to annoy him... So Freya's up to something. Just not sure what.) Whatever she did didn't matter, I'd just send her to hell if she tried me. (And if she tries something for the girls, then I just kill her whole familia. Simple as that.) That aside, I just started trotting over to the guild.

I had stones to exchange after all.

{10 Minutes later}

"Oh come on! I didn't even damage anything this time!" Which was true! I used the new abilities I've been working on, my gravity and the chains from Naruto. I hadn't destroyed or set a floor on fire this time. "So why am I still being fined?"

Eina just rubbed her eyes at that. "It's not a fine. It's a FEE. You're entering the Feria's monster matches, so you're required to pay the fee." I blinked.

"Then why was the first thing you said 'We'll be taking a portion of your earnings' instead of that? You know how that would've come across!" Eina just sighed, and nodded.

"In hindsight, you are correct. That aside, I'll take the fee. Or I can wait until you've submitted your registration and level up." I liked that.

"I'll just do that. Everything should be in tomorrow... Unless I forget something." Another sigh, and Eina nodded.

"Very well. With that done, have a good day Maccillian." I hummed, and got up. It didn't take long considering Eina knew what she was doing, so I got out as soon as I could.

Walking out of the guild, I just looked around, and decided to head home. Unless something decided to come up, there was no reason for me to get back later then I wanted.

Though maybe I should stop tempting fate.

A few minutes into my walk, I picked up a piece of information that made me pause. What was this information you might ask? Well... "Did you hear? The Artemis familia's heading out on an expedition." That was all I needed to hear.

(The fucking movie exists here?) I had a moral conundrum here because of that information. Now call me a hypocrite, but I liked the whole Artemis x Bell ship. Sure it all started because Bell pulled out a spear or whatever the fuck the thing was, but there was romance there. (Now what? My Haruhime x Bell ship is in danger... Is Artemis the jealous type? I don't remember... Fuck.) I'd have to think about it later.

For now, home.

{10 Minutes later}

Back at the church, I could hear a conversation going on, and since I could, I decided to listen in. "I don't know! Can't you just do it for me Shizuka?"

I heard Shizuka's patented humming, and wondered what Hestia wanted. "Nope. You have to do it yourself. But it'll be fineee, Silver won't say no." What?

"But it's embarrassing! I've never actually been in a relationship before." Oh... OH... OHHHH. This was about to get real juicy.

Shizuka's giggle brought me out of that revelation, and I tuned in. "You can do it Hestia. Just go up to Silver, and say you want to be with him! That'll do the trick." Hearing Hestia groan, I could imagine her sinking into the couch, just holding her head in her hands.

"But what if he says no? Or the other girls don't like me? Or wh...-"

"Ap ap ap, bad Hestia."

"Ughhh. Are you SURE you and everyone else are fine with me?"

"Yep. We're ok with you Hestia. So be ok with yourself. Can you do that for me?"

There was silence for a bit, but after a few seconds, I heard Hestia sigh. "... I can try. Is that good enough?"

Shizuka hummed, and I assume she nodded. "Yep. Now then... You can come in now Silver." So she did know.

"HUH?! WAIT WAIT WAIT!" I snorted, but opened the door anyway. And the sight that greeted me was beyond hilarious.

Hestia was practically ready to run away. But when we locked eyes, she turned into a deer in headlights.

Shizuka was just looking at me with a smile, as she always did, and I could see the amusement in her eyes. She probably knew I was there the moment I reached the door.

Lili was laying with Houndoom and Trix, which was a funny sight considering she was about as short as they were long. She shared in Hestia's amusement, and I was going to double down on teaching her how to fuck with people.

I took that in, but kept my eyes on Hestia. Her face was heating up in a nuclear blush, and I could imagine steam coming out of her ears. I took that in, and grinned. "Ya know, I heard the damnedest thing just now. Anything you wanna say to me Tiny?" I was gonna have a field day with this.

Hestia burned, started spluttering, and turned to Shizuka. "HELP!" Shizuka just reached out, and TURNED her back to me. "NOT LIKE THIS!" Shizuka started giggling, and Lili started snickering with the hounds. I kept my eyes on Hestia, and my grin only widened when she groaned and put her head in her hands. "Why are you all like this?" I snorted, and started making my way to the couch.

When I sat down, I wrapped an arm around her shoulders, then pulled her over to me when Shizuka let her go and gave me a thumbs up. Hestia's face was right by my chest, and I could feel the heat radiating off of her face. She was beyond embarrassed, fidgeting in place, trying to avoid looking at me, and it was fucking adorable... And I had a THOUGHT. "Hey Tiny." She struggled to look at me, but when she did, I grinned. "Can you say, 'I-It's not because I like you or anything?' Please?" Despite her embarrassment, her lips twitched.

Hestia decided to stop looking at me, and just let her head rest on my chest. "... I don't have to repeat what you heard, do I?"

"No. Although it'd be nice hearing it." It would've, but I didn't NEED to hear it now. Not that I'd tell her that.

Hestia grumbled a bit, and I just kept the shit eating grin I had on my face as she did. "I want to be with you..."

"Hmm? You say something Tiny? I didn't catch that." Her eye twitched, and she tried to bore into my side for that.

"I want... I want to... UGH! I want to be with you!" She went even redder, which I didn't know was possible, and tried REALLY hard to not look at me.

That whole thing was just too precious to NOT deserve something, so I grinned, and poked her cheek. "Tiny, look at me real quick." She started grumbling again, and it took a few pokes, but when Hestia finally looked up at me again, I moved in.

She saw me closing in, and started panicking. "WH...-" That was all she got out before I kissed her on the lips, and she froze. I didn't want to kill the poor little goddess, so it wasn't rough or had tongue. It was a pretty normal kiss considering it was coming from me.

Hestia took the kiss, and when I was done, I could see in her eyes that she was mentally gone. I laughed at the sight, and moved back. Shizuka was cheering and clapping, and Lili was a blushing mess... (Shit... Do I have to tone down sexual shit now? Ughhh.)

"One of us! One of us! One of us!" I looked back to Shizuka, amused at that, and she grabbed Hestia. She practically dragged the little goddess into her hug, and treated her like a body pillow. Then Shizuka did something else. She turned Hestia to look at her, and I could see the mischievous glint in her eyes a mile away. "Now I can do this!"

And she kissed the little goddess on the lips... With tongue. (There goes 'not killing' her.) Hestia's mind came back from the stimulation, and I was pretty sure the shock of back to back kisses was too much for her to handle.

When Shizuka was finished, she separated from Hestia, with that line of saliva you usually see in hentai or ecchi anime, and Hestia couldn't handle it. So she passed out into Shizuka's breasts.

Said woman was cackling in glee, and I couldn't help but smile at that. I was going to say something, but then Bell's door opened, and he walked into the room. "Good mor... Did something happen?"

The hounds did their own cackle, Lili was extra red faced, and Shizuka just kept cackling.

I decided to just say nothing, and let him stow in his confusion.

[Omake - Want some ice cream? Yin's POV after the talk.]

"Ok, so good news." Neo perked up at that, and I could tell she was hoping it was me saying yes. "I'll bring him back, but I've got no idea what we're going to do about you and him after I do." It didn't look like she cared about that second half.

Neo nodded, and started tapping on her scroll. ~That's fine, we'll just disappear when you're done.~ I nodded, but Raven scoffed.

"And then you'll go back to your ways from before he died. All criminals are the same after all." We all turned to Raven, who was on the couch with a smoothie in her hand, and I was pretty sure we were all giving her the same look. She took our looks in, and raised a brow. "What?"

I just sighed. "Pot meet kettle." Raven just hummed, and shrugged.

"I haven't killed, stolen fr...-"

"Anyone seen my scroll!?" We looked over to the stairs, where uncle Qrow was coming down from, and then back to Raven. We all knew who would've done something like that.

She hummed, then shrugged again. Clearly unrepentant. "-Anything important. I've been on my best behavior." There was a collective 'uhuh' from everyone, including Neo, and we decided to ignore Raven.

"Ya know... You owe us a fight for all the shit you put me and Rubes through." Yang... Had a point? I think. Neo DID like messing with them.

Said ice cream girl just looked at Yang, then Ruby, who was nodding along, and shrugged. ~As long as you still fight like a gorilla, I'll win.~ Yang growled at her, and Neo smirked.

They were about to get into it, but mom called out to them from the kitchen. "No fighting in the house please. It's still not reinforced enough!" Yang backed off, but almost brought out her claws when Neo stuck her tongue out at her.
