780Chapter 99: A prelude to Deicide
{Maccillian's POV, 4 days later}
The door slammed open, and the familiar voice of Saya sounded off. "We got it!" That was the first thing I'd heard when I woke up, and given the way my girls, this included Rika since she and the meathead trio came back from Europe yesterday, and told us all about how she watched them run around the Eastern continent causing mayhem wherever they went. She never got caught though, and the way Cu, Kiriko, and Kendo STARED at her when she reappeared above them was hilarious.
Anyway, I opened my eyes, noticed she didn't even turn on the lights, and blearily looked over to Saya. Her hair looked a little frazzled, I was pretty sure there was an actual blotch of coffee on her top, she only drank the heavenly brew when she was going on all nighters, even though it didn't effect us, and she had dark circles around her eyes, confirming she pulled an all nighter.
My observation done, I was about to question her, but I was beat to it when an aura pillow slammed into her face, courtesy of Rika, who was grumbling as she turned over to glare at Saya. "The fuck time is it?" That was a good question.
Saya flicked the pillow away, and huffed. "Time is a social construct!" Another pillow flashed into existence, but Saya just swat it away without batting an eye. "Anyway, we found a way to break down the barriers defending Zion's body!" Now that seemed to do it, and everyone started moving.
Rika sat up, and actually looked like she was fully awake now, Saeko didn't even make a noise as she suddenly moved up a bit so she could give Saya her undivided attention, Shizuka muttered a little as she started rubbing her eyes, but didn't actually get up, and instead curled into me more. I wasn't going to complain considering her breasts were pretty much merged to me, so I didn't bother moving too much. Though, I did hum as I met Saya's eager look. "Can this wait till breakfast?" Granted, I was most likely going to be the one making said breakfast, but that didn't exactly matter. (Well, matter at the moment. The sun isn't up, so breakfast is at least 3-6 hours away. Plenty of time to get some more rest.)
My ceann beag blinked, then frowned a bit. "I mean, yes. But this is massive news Zaka! We can start the assault on the waste of space whale, and I can get a fresh carcass to dissect! The possibilities!" Ah... There was the motive.
"Saya, my dear." That got her attention, and she turned to her former schoolmate, who looked as stoic as could be despite the horrible case of bed head. "It is currently 3 in the morning." Really? "Could we perhaps do this later?"
Rika nodded, and laid back down against my legs. "I'm with Crazy on this." Not surprising that she was. Rika was always horrible in the mornings, something I'd gotten better at actually. "It's too early for this shit. So Smarts, you either get in the goddamn bed right now and go to sleep with us, or we knock you out and toss you in. Your choice." Huh... Grumpy didn't seem to cover it.
Saya narrowed her eyes at Rika, and the two got into a staring contest... That Saya lost when Rika blasted her eyes with air. After rubbing her eyes, she growled, and glared at a smug looking Rika. "You bitch! That's cheating!" She was right, but at the same time, if someone wasn't cheating, they weren't winning.
Rika snorted, and rolled her eyes. "Shut it, and get in the bed you loser." Saeko and I were highly amused at that.
Said 'loser' wasn't though, and huffed as she tried to glare a hole into her older sister mate. "Hope and I...-"
She was cut off by the familiar mental ~No. Go to sleep Saya. The Warrior will still be a problem to be removed in the morning.~ All of us, bar Shizuka who was still happily sleeping, heard Hope, and we grinned.
She looked like she sucked a lemon, and huffed as she looked at me when I started chuckling. "Well well well, it seems like the angel has spoken, eh my ceann beag?"
For a few seconds, she just stared at me, then sighed. "Fuck it, I'm doing this under protest!" With that, she walked over to, and dropped into the bed, right by Saeko's side. "Under protest!" Rika and I snorted, while Saeko giggled a little.
It took a bit, but we eventually managed to get back to sleep. There would be talks of alien-cide in the morning.
{5 hours later}
After we were all rested, and the cooking squad, which was Kiriko, Rei and I, Saya was excluded since she ran an all nighter, and Saeko was helping set the table with the others, we went into talks about what Saya and Hope found out last night. The latter was happily eating her full english breakfast, while the former got everyone's attention. "So, a few days ago, we found the coordinates to Zion's dimension." Tapping her focus, a display formed above the table. We saw bright gold shields surrounding... Something. I actually couldn't see through the shields, which was a surprise. "This dimension is currently empty, aside from the shields you see before you. It took time to figure out just how sturdy these shields were, and earlier today, Hope and I not only figured out their limit, but how we can break them." Now that was interesting. "From what we've gathered, it'd take the force of a point blank supernova to damage the shields."
That got whistles out of me, Cu, Kiriko, and Rika. "Well damn. I don't think my lil ol Wicker Man or my shaft," Kiriko, Kendo, and Rika snorted, while the rest of us rolled our eyes. "Yea yea, whatever. Anyway, kinda annoying to know that my go too won't do much at tha start.." He paused, then blinked. "Might be able to do somethin with some Rune support though." Saya seemed interested in that, but shook her head.
Though, before she spoke, she was interrupted by my other, and first sister, who was just casually munching on her pop tart. "What're the odds that I hit it enough with Double Down that I crack it?" THAT... That was a VERY good question.
The table was silent for a moment, and Saya shared a look with Hope. The two of them were probably doing mental calculations, and after a few seconds, they both looked to Kiriko. ~We believe a minimum of 200 consecutive blows would be enough to crack the shields, but the moment you reached the 30's, and defenses would most likely activate, and retaliate against you, sister.~
Kiriko just shrugged at that. "Oh well, I tried." Kendo gave her a 'pity' clap to the back, kinda like a 'there there' gesture, which she growled at, making him chuckle.
Saya cleared her throat, directing attention back to her. "Anyway, with the way to destroy his shields, it's time to bring up the rest of the plan." Tapping her focus again, two different plans came up. "Plan A is the one we were going to go with before, which was to have Zaka isolate the avatar of Zion in his Noble Phantasm, while the rest of us blast his main body with our strongest attacks. The idea is for Zion to be too focused on the mutt," She ignored my 'Oi!' And a few others snickered. "For him to notice his true body being in danger. Plan B on the other hand, is different. Most of the steps are the same, but with the addition of The Hound of Ulster, Hope, and Zaka's familiar, we have a new option." Now that sounded interesting.
We were all curious about what this was going to be, and since she was included in this, Hope picked up where Saya left off. ~The idea is to have Fen and myself serve as batteries for Cu Chulainn here, and super charge Gáe Bolg in order to kill The Warrior. A conceptual weapon would not be something that an Entity could defend against. So, if we added our combined reserves, we believe we can ensure the death of The Warrior.~
That made us all turn to Cu, who was rubbing his chin. "I think it could work. Gáe Bolg ENSURES that whatever she strikes, dies." I snorted at that, and the old dog rolled his eyes. "Ah, right, excuse me. She ensures that anything OTHER then some cheatin shite with inviolability and a bullshit healin factor, die." I snorted again, and he glared at me. "Oh fuck off mate, now what?"
That got grins out of everyone that watched the 5th Grail War. "Archer," I wanted to see how long it was going to take for him to figure out who Archer actually was with this hint. "Was hit by yer little toothpick, and got better. So technically, your 0-2 on that claim." Cu blinked, and STARED at me at that, and I drank in his confusion.
Though, before he could put it together, there was another interruption. This time, from our newest member of the family. "Hey, quick question." Turning to her, it was interesting to see how unfazed she was when the gazes of a fuckton of Werewolves, a Heroic Spirit, and former Endbringer, landed on her. "You guys going to keep this going without telling Morrigan?" Pretty much everyone blinked at that, then they turned to me for some fucking reason.
My confusion must've showed, since Cu and the meathead duo laughed, while I rolled my eyes. "Ugh, fine, good point kiddo." Missy preened just the tiniest bit, and I internally smirked. "Anyway." [Invite Yin Xiao-Long]
There was a few moments were the invite was just up in the air, but after a bit more, she accepted... And when she spoke, I realized why she took a bit longer to respond. ~Mhm... Ma...- Macky? It's too early for your shit...~ She was asleep before she accepted... Whoops.
Though to be fair, I expected she'd be up considering her familiar had been giving her some... Ah... (Ok, that makes sense.) If her familiar had her up late, that was probably why she was grumpy. Oh well. [We're talking about killing Zion. Get your ass over here.] I felt a wave of annoyance, and rolled my eyes. [I don't care. Come.]
She growled over the party chat, and 'hit' me on my shin. ~I'm not your dog Macky.. But fine.~ I grinned, and was about to make a joke about that, but she must've known. ~Don't even THINK of making a bitch or Werewolf joke you ass!~ Welp, there went my fun.
[Whatever. Anyway, see you soon you fuck.]
I was grinning like a loon now, and everyone other then Hope was giving me a look for it. ~Wait, Macky DO...-~ She knew what was coming...
But she was too late. [BOP!] And she was kicked from the party. I smirked to myself in satisfaction, but huffed when Hope giggled. Looking over to her, I had to ask. "What?"
My angelic sister giggled some more, but answered. ~Was mentally shouting, 'bop', necessary, brother?~
Now that got some strange looks, and a few snickers, but I ignored them all, and nodded. "Obviously. It wouldn't be as amusing otherwise." My sister, the angelic brat, outright laughed at that, while the other fuckers just chuckled. I rolled my eyes at all of them, and chose to devour my breakfast burger instead.
"Now that THAT'S out of the way," And once again, Saya retook the point. "Yin will be over eventually, but let's just decide now. Do we go for Plan A? Or Plan B?" We all started thinking about that, and just ate as we did. After we took a few minutes, the consensus was that we were going to go for Plan B. "Ok. That decided, aside from Yin, since she's not here yet, I'll be assigning everyone their roles for this operation." It was always amusing to see Saya take control of a situation, especially one like this. It was never said aloud, but when Athena wasn't around, and I didn't feel like giving orders, she was pretty much the one the pack listened to the most. "Hope, Cu, and Fen already have their roles, so I'll be skipping over those." The Heroic Spirit and angel nodded, while my familiar kept eating his doggy food, which he liked for some reason, I didn't know if he actually had a stomach though. "Shizuka and Rika." The two of them perked up. "You two are going to encase Brockton Bay in a dome of aura. There won't be any reason to include the port, just the mainland. This is just a precaution in case Zaka isn't able to trap Zion fast enough." That was reasonable, and both of her sister mates nodded in agreement.
Saya nodded back, and went on. "Zaka and Lili. You two are going to go to Cauldron and gather the body of The Thinker. While you do, I expect some samples for me to study for later. A few decades old corpse would still be interesting to study in my own time." My first surprise adopted daughter and I nodded, and she went on. "Saeko and I will stay here and help man the breach to Zion's dimension with our aura and mana, while everyone else supports us. In the event some automatic defense activates, we'll be the second line of defense, and manage to protect ourselves long enough for someone to destroy the Dimensional Breacher." A few of us snorted at that simple name, but Saya ignored us. "Ideally, Yin will be the first line of defense, and Saeko and I will funnel some of our own mana and aura over to her in the event Lord Camelot is needed." Also made sense.
From there, breakfast went on, and we talked about some other shit.
Though, a bit later, Yin ended up kicking down our door, rude bitch that she was, and made her way to the table. We all looked at her, took in the mildly annoyed glare she was sending my way, the fact her familiar was 'nesting' in her hair, a baby Black Rose Dragon, which was both cute/cool as fuck, and amusing imagining how her sister, and my wayward niece of a Reaper, would react to the little dragon of roses. The little hatchling was a foot tall, and wide, light pink petals for wings, and some short claws. She was a cute little murder dragon in my opinion. Anyway, I waved at Yin, and ignored her annoyance. "Morning, Yin. Fleur. Wanna steak?" Granted, the only one eating a steak was Himiko, but the option was on the table.
Her glare intensified at that, though Fleur reacted, and 'flew' over towards the table. Flying was in quotation territory because it was more 'slowly falling' then flying. Anyway, the little Synchro monster landed by Himiko, and sent out a little tendril towards her steak, while giving my daughter 'puppy dog eyes.' Fun fact, when it came to the little dragon, Himiko had no defenses, so she pouted, and cut some pieces of her stake off for the dragon, all the while doing her best to ignore the snickers from her sisters, as well as Rika and Hope. Seeing that her familiar had taken the rooms attention, Yin huffed, and spoke up. "Again, too early for your shit, Macky. Plan? What? Me? Do? All I need right now." I don't know how long we stared at her for the caveman way she asked that, but eventually, someone, I was pretty sure it was Himiko, burst out laughing.
That broke the silence, and I answered her as some of the others joined her in their laughter. "You're going to pull out your big ol shield, and be the wall in case Zion has automatic defenses. So, congrats for offering yourself up."
She looked at me for a moment, then groaned. "Great, I hate it." I snorted. "I'll do it though."
That seemed to be what she wanted to hear, since Saya tapped the table with her nails, getting the both of us to look at her. "We'll be taking a few hours to get everything set up, so take your time to get prepared. We'll let you know when everything is ready, got it Yin?" Said Gamer nodded, and Saya smiled. "Great." Turning to me, she tapped the table again, and hummed. "30 minutes enough time?"
I knew what she was asking, and I hummed to myself. "Yeah." Turning to my smol daughter, I flicked an ear at her, and she nodded. I nodded back, and went back to humming. Lili was one of the easiest of the pack to talk with non verbally. Being a former Supporter, she just understood the ques, and with her time with us, pretty much knew how to have a conversation with just body language. It was interesting really.
Shaking that off though, Yin ended up joining us for breakfast, and time just ended up flying by.
{30 minutes later}
After breakfast was over, we split off, and started the plan. At the moment, Lili and I were standing on the roof of the Medhall building, looking over the bay. It was looking even better then yesterday, it was pretty much 85-90% fixed, which had me wondering if the local supers helped out... (Actually, who's still around?) I didn't actually know, cause I didn't really give a shit about the people here. So, a quick overview of the city, and specifically searching for people that had powers. It was easier to do then I thought, and I hummed. "More then I thought." Not counting the PRT, New Wave, and The Undersiders, there were 7 other supers in the city. 1 of them was Parian, she was hosting a show out in public, and had plushies of my Enhanced Amphisbaena form 'fighting' a Leviathan plush. It was cute, and I knew I was probably going to get like, 50 of them for Eri and Sunny... And for no other reason at all.
Lili looked over to me when I talked out loud, and lightly tilted her head, giving me a raised brow. "Capes?" I nodded at that, and she went back to looking over the city. "Lili can see why." At that, I gave her a raised brow of my own. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed it, and shrugged. "Papa, Best Mama is here. Sure, she traveled around for a bit, but she is HERE. The other healer, Panacea is also here. This city is 'home' to the 2 best healers in this world. It is also where one of their Endbringers was killed. It makes sense for people to flock towards the city." She was right, I knew that.
Though, the way she said it reminded me of Saya... And I said as much. "Taking after Saya, eh smols?"
My daughter snorted, and gave me a sneaky smile. "Lili is just being rational. Is Papa not capable of being rational?"
I laughed at that, ruffled her hair, and she giggled. "I'll let you have that, smols. But only that one." She kept giggling, and I just shook my head. I would've kept ruffling her hair a bit more, but a beep from my focus confirmed it was time. So, stopping, I looked out to the city, and spoke. "Door to Cauldron." The space in front of us opened up, and with a quick look, Lili disappeared from sight, and we walked in.
Walking into Cauldron disorientated me for a second, mostly because the facility had something that sent my senses into overdrive. I'd never smelled something so... Foreign, before. If wrong was a smell, it was all over this damn place. Lili even started sneezing like a full auto gun, and I almost followed. I did my best to kill my sense of smell, but I sneezed twice before I managed it. "Oh fuck, that's a fuckin thing." Now that I wasn't sneezing at scent of wrong, I managed to stand up straight.
Though, between sneezes, Lili was tugging on my tail. "Lili needs ASSISTANCE!" I snorted at that, and made a Power Rangers helmet for her that didn't let scents go through. I had to time it right though since she was still sneezing a storm, but got it right anyway. The moment it was on her, it disappeared, but I could still feel it and her. Lili took a few seconds to sniff, then sighed. "Thank you, Papa."
"Anything for my smols." My little daughter snorted at that, and we were back with silence...
Until we looked around. In front of us were a few of the remaining members of Cauldron. Alexandria seemed as stone cold as before, she even had her helmet off, and looked healthier then before. I knew Shizuka had used her fire on her, she found it difficult to say no even to this bitch, so she probably wasn't slowly dying of whatever the fuck was killing her before. By her side was Legend, who tried to look as neutral as he could, but I could still see the fear, and oh so tiny amount of amusement.
Though, they weren't alone.
Standing behind the both of them was someone I didn't expect. 'Dr. Mother.' She was the easiest to read, but by far the most interesting. Despite not having any powers of her own, she seemed to be the most grounded, and least afraid. I had no idea how, but she was intriguing. "Welcome to Cauldron, Sir. Maccillian, and Ms. Lili." Courteous too.
I gave her a nod, while I mentally tracked Lili as she explored the room. "Sir makes me sound old. It's just Maccillian for now. As for Lili, say hello smols."
From the door, which was behind the members of Cauldron, my daughter happily replied. "Dia dhuit." Her response made Alexandria and Legend flinch, since she was behind them, but Doctor Mother didn't react. They were doing well for people in a room with a me, as well as my invisible daughter and her obscenely big gun.
[Cheeky little girl.] Lili sent me the feeling of a smile, and I shook my head. "Anyway, take us to the corpse..." I hummed internally for a second, and added two others. "Doormaker and Contessa too. This is non negotiable by the way." Judging by the looks on their faces, it seemed like Saya told them to expect this.
Though, even if they expected it, they didn't have to like it, given the way Alexandria's hands, which were still by her side, almost curled into fists. She took a deep breath, and turned to Doctor Mother, who seemed sad at the news. "Must this happen?" Trying to appeal to me huh?
Too bad. "'The ends justify the means', no?" That got me some disapproving looks, but it wasn't like I really cared. They were lucky I didn't feel like crushing them into paste.
"Doormaker is just a child! You can make an exception for him!" Looking at Legend, I gave him a raised brow, and stared at him for a bit.
I could tell he actually meant that, so I was just going to be blunt with him, instead of being an asshole. "I'll ignore the hypocrisy, since I'm something of a hypocrite myself. It doesn't matter if he's a 'child' to you. To me, he's someone I don't know, someone I don't care about, and in the end, just another person I can get something from. Your opinion is irrelevant. Now, you'll either take me to them, or I'll just get them myself." Legend stared back at me, looking like he wanted to try me. I wouldn't have minded if he did, though it would be a short fight.
I didn't get to think more about that, since the sound of someone coming towards us reached my ears. I felt Lili bring out her claws, and watch the door. The two of us watched the door, while the trio in front of me watched my glorious self. A moment or two later, the door opened, and in walked one of my named targets. Contessa/Fortuna walked right passed my daughter, the trio, and found herself right in front of me. Looking at her, I had to admit, the fact there was no fear, no resignation, only single minded purpose, interested me.
I was going to say something, maybe a little quip here, but Doctor Mother beat me too it. "Fortuna, please, we ca...-" Fortuna raised a hand, but didn't look back.
She kept staring at me, and slowly blinked. She was in complete control of herself, giving away no signs at all, which was a tough thing to do, especially against me and my senses. "This is the end of my path. Everything we've done, whether it was unexpected or not, necessary or not, has led to this moment. My path ends today, but The Path continues to our desired outcome. It is simply my time." The members of Cauldron all looked at Fortuna at that, but the only one that looked guilty was Legend.
Me though, I just chuckled. "Athena doesn't know what to think about you." The confusion in Fortuna's eyes was the first real thing I'd seen from her. I ignored it though, and went on. "But after that, I think she'd have at least one nice to say about you." There was the barest hint of interest in her eyes, but as fast as it came, it disappeared, replaced with her former single minded purpose. "Oh well, let's get this show on the road." That said, I shifted into my Peluda form, the only other dragon form that would fit in this room aside from my Vouivre form, or my Infant Dragon form. I rarely used it since I never saw a reason too, but being a 15 foot tall snake like dragon, with poison coated feathers(I know it's supposed to be needles, but I like the mental image of SMITE Kukulkan with legs, but silver) and sticky legs, was still cool.
I ignored the way the rest of the room tensed, and kept my eyes on Fortuna. She nodded at me, and I nodded back. "I would like it to be painless. May you grant me that one request?" I blinked, but gave her another nod. She relaxed, and closed her eyes. "Thank you, my liege." I hummed at that, and opened my maw. Fun fact, Peluda's can unhinge their jaws. From what I remember Saya telling me about them, their whole thing is poisoning their prey, holding out till they die, then devouring them whole. An unnecessary tid bit of information, but it is what it is.
Anyway, I didn't unhinge my jaw, I just lowered my head towards hers, and in a moment faster then one could blink, snapped my jaw around her head, devouring it in one fell swoop. Now, I didn't exactly want to eat her face, but according to Yin's System, I needed to eat the shard in order to get the power, since the power belonged to the shard, instead of the host. And like it told me, I got the prompt.

I blinked at the second option, one more then I was expecting, and shook my head. (Weird, but ok.) I ignored it, and selected the main prize. The moment I did, I felt the STRONGEST headache I'd ever felt in either lives. It was bad enough that I almost crashed into the floor when my head felt like it would pop. (Inviolability!) As soon as I activated that, my headache vanished, and I grumbled as I went over what was different. Firstly, I felt like if I just wanted to know how to do something, I could figure it out. Secondly, there was a part of my mind that felt... Occupied? I frowned, and followed that feeling, eventually coming against something... Massive. Given what I just did, I didn't need Saya to tell me what this was, and I wasn't about to have something like this in my mind.
So, concentrating on my Sword of Damocles, I willed my aura to focus on that connection in my mind, and CLEAVED it apart. ~ANG...-~ The shard didn't get the chance to finish since I attacked the connection again, and severed it from me. Thanks to my inviolability, I still didn't have a headache, and my mind cleared up. Shaking it off, I dropped my inviolability, and blinked when I didn't have a headache. (Cool.)
Shifting back, I licked my teeth, and after realizing that I didn't have any Fortuna in my teeth, I looked over to the members of Cauldron. Legend seemed to be doing his best not to hurl. Alexandria glared at me like she wanted to burn holes through me. And Doctor Mother... She was just blank. Oh well. Looking at the headless body of Fortuna, I hummed, and decided to make an aura coffin for her. "smols." My daughter blurred towards me, and reappeared the moment after I called her. "Think you could carry her? I'm thinkin of having Yin bring her back later."
Ignoring the sharp look Alexandria sent me, Lili blinked, then shrugged. "Ok... Though, are you going to ask her? Or will you just drop the coffin in front of her and go 'fix her.'"
Pausing, I thought about that scenario, and nodded. "Yes."
My daughter rolled her eyes, and put Fortuna in her inventory. With her gone, she disappeared again, and I looked back to see the members of Cauldron giving me the most bewildered and hopeful looks I've ever seen... Too bad I didn't give a shit about them. "Anyway, take me to Doormaker, or I'll just go through you all to get to him. You again, do not have the option to say no. Only to survive or not."
That seemed to sober them up, and with a look full of nothing but reluctance, Doctor Mother nodded, while Alexandria and Legend barely followed up with nods of their former turned on her heel, and started walking out the corridor. The rest of us followed, Lili kept scouting out the area in front of us by habit, and we walked through the facility.
We got to Doormaker and Clairvoyant, the two were hand in hand, and facing the door, so they knew what was coming. I actually had no idea which was which, so when one of them told me 'Don't bring us back', I had no clue who it was... Until I at them. Turned out it was Clairvoyant. Anyway, I ate them, and picked their powers. Doormaker's power was pretty much the same...
It was just Clairvoyant's power that was the surprise.

Naturally, I combined them. And the skill I got was fucking nice.
[Status]
Combination complete.
Skill - Omni Dimensional Mapping - Host is capable of mapping the current dimension the host is in, any dimensions within a subspace of the main dimension, or separate dimensions entirely.
Now, what did that mean in normal speak? Well, to anyone that played any kind of MMO, I basically got the world map feature. It wasn't just that either though. It was basically a universe map. So, say I was back in My Hero, and decided to check in on how Bell and the hounds were doing, but was too lazy to party up or head there myself, I was probably going to pay a visit eventually because we were getting dangerously low on Soma wine, I could use that feature to see just where Bell was, and use Doormaker's power to go right there. I had a permanent fast travel feature, and it was glorious. Luckily, my Minimap made Clairvoyant's power passive, so thank fuck for that.
Their shards didn't put up much, if any fight, so I didn't have a headache either.
Anyway, that's what happened with them.
Moving on, we ended up in the 'Garden of Flesh', and fuck if it wasn't something. The Thinker's avatar was almost like Hope. Granted her skin was a bit too light blue, her hair the purest white I'd ever seen, and her presence, even being dead, far too big. After shaking off the interest in her avatar, I moved onto her main body, and had to say, it was IMPRESSIVE. The fucking thing was massive, easily bigger then my Enhanced Amphisbaena form, and also one of the ugliest things I'd ever seen. "Alright... Guess I'll see if it tastes better then it looks." Lili and I were the only ones in the room, the members of Cauldron were told to fuck off by my illustrious self, and Lili was only here to take samples.
By the time I shifted into my Enhanced Amphisbaena form, she had two crates full of tissue samples for her elder sister. Sharing a nod, my daughter disappeared again, and walked over to the end of the room furthest away from me. With her over there, I was ready to eat... So I dug my maw into The Thinker, and bit down...
Into the most disgusting thing I'd ever tasted. If the smell of garbage on a hot summers day was a taste, this was it. (Oh fuck, I'm gonna hurl.) Fun fact, in my Enhanced Amphisbaena form, I can throw up with three different heads... Despite the fact that my third head, I still used my tail to form that one, was not connected to my stomach. How, you may ask? Fuck if I knew.
After throwing up, lit my throats and fangs on fire, and took a breath. (second/sixth time's the charm.) So, my three heads lowered themselves back to The Thinker's corpse, and I bit down again. This time, being cooked with sun fire, the taste was... Manageable. (Yeah, decades old alien corpse is only 'manageable', ugh.) I ignored my thought, and ate until the prompt came up.

Host will retain the original power, but it will be weakened for a period of time.] - [Dimension Creation - Gain the ability to create a sub dimension in order to hide the host's body in.]
Huh... (That's... That's a lot.) - (Though, aren't some of em redundant? We don't need the first, second, third, or fifth ones.) - (... Yeah, but still... A lot?) - (Why is that a question?) - (... I dunno.) Two of my heads sighed, while the third just mentally shrugged. I had a point. The first wasn't needed, I didn't want to end up as some fucking Werewolf, Dragon, Space whale abomination of nature that couldn't be killed by fire. I was learning Shard Speak, and could use it with a few words/concepts, so that wasn't needed. Hope, Saya, and Athena would deal with the Shard Network, and even if they weren't, we weren't STAYING in this hellhole. I would've liked Dimension Creation, I could have my own ID to train in, Saya and Athena were working on the subject in their own time, and with Hope here, they'd figure it out sooner or later.
So, that only left Power Bestowal.
Taking the ability, I felt a bunch of connections in my mind, far different from the other shards. Mentally turning to them, it was like a star field. Massive silver stars hung above red, blue, green, and other colored stars, while below them, hung smaller moons. It was weird seeing my abilities like that, but I could still tell what was what. The silver stars were things like my Apex Shifter, my connection to Fen and Balmung. The other stars were my developmental abilities, while the ones underneath were my sub skills. I could tell that despite the sizes of my silver stars, I couldn't SHARE them, so there went any ideas of letting Eri wave around Balmung, and Excali blast anything in her way.
Shaking off that adorable thought that I was going to make a reality no matter what, I incinerated any and every trace of 'meat' in my throats, and used my tail head to nod to Lili. She nodded back, and I shifted back.
It was time to go through with the rest of our plan.
So, digging my claws into the main body of The Thinker, I searched for an empty island where I could dump her body, and get Zion's attention. When I found one, I grinned, and activated Doormaker's power. "Door to uninhabited island whose name I don't know, or care to know about." A massive silver door opened, and I dragged The Thinker's body unto the breach... After removing her gravity of course.
{30 minutes later}
It didn't take as long as I thought. Zion's golden form hovered above the island, his eyes focused on the form of The Thinker, especially the burned and missing chunks from her side. From where I was, atop a fairly tall tree, I watched as he slowly descended, almost like he was afraid that what he was seeing would disappear if he did. I hummed at that, and sent the message to the others. -Starting.-
The message went off without a hitch, and Saya sent back one of her own. -Got it. Distract him for 30 minutes at the very least.- That sounded easy.
As soon as Zion made landfall, I moved, and silently appeared a few meters away from the golden god. My presence was restrained to me, so he didn't seem to notice, that, or he was too caught up in his dead lover to notice. Not deciding to look a gift horse in the mouth, I took a breath, and spoke my aria as my circuits howled to life.
"Fractured I stood, whole I stand.
Together, we roam the lands.
With the wind whipping against our fur.
Our fangs and claws laid bare!"
At this point, Zion noticed the surroundings beginning to shift, but it was too late. My Sword of Damocles was hanging upon the sky, it's presence putting the alien off kilter, while my realm already began encroaching onto this one. So basically, I rolled a nat 20, and the depressed alien got a crit failure.
"OUR HOWLS RIDING THE WINDS!
MY DECREE RINGS RESOLUTE ABOVE ALL!
THE HUNT IS ON!
Noble Phantasm: Tír na nÓg!"
And the world twisted to my will.
[Omake - Baby's first Mystic Code. Archer's POV yesterday.]
It'd been a few days since my life was flipped on its axis, and I had to say... I still had no idea what in the hell I was supposed to do now. I always had some kind of goal to work towards. Some kind of objective to complete. Now? Now I was living a domestic life, cooking breakfast for two goddesses, two former Servants, and two children. Granted, one of those children was a dragon, which made it even weirder. (Is that just a cursed number for me now? Will Kanshou and Byakuya curse me now when I bring them out?) I snorted at that thought, and shook my head as I let my mind wander as I kept cooking. (What do I do now?) I still wasn't sure, and my talk with 'All Might' didn't exactly answer that question either.
That was a thing of it's own though, and even now, I wasn't sure why that meeting was so important to me. I'd been in the Throne of Heroes, met those who went down in legend, spoken and talked to the likes of Achilles and Joan of Arc for crying out loud!
So why did a meeting with a human, that despite not being in the Throne, would most likely go there if this was my own universe, be so important to me? 'Because he's given you the answer you've been looking for. Showed you the path that you could've, and should've walked.' I scowled at that, and debated on stomping down on that thought with impunity, or to actually listen to it. (It's cheating when the thought sounds like Fuji-nee.) There was no response to my thought, and I wasn't sure if I liked it or not.
Anyway, the meeting with 'All Might' had been enlightening. I'd wanted to be a 'Hero of Justice', my face still scrunched up at that, but I ignored it. I wanted to be a hero so bad, that along the way, I lost sight of who I wanted to save. 'Everyone' didn't mean anything when everyone you cared for was no longer there. At some point, I lost sight of the people like Fuji-nee, Sakura, Rin... Artoria. I took a second to just stop, and breath. I'd lost sight of them, and just moved forwards without taking my time to care for the people I'd wanted to save... (I'm a moron.) It was such a simple answer, that I'd overlooked it. I thought I had to do it all alone... And that led me to here. To the now...
"Umm... Uncle Archer?" Looking down, I met the sleepy look of the resident child, in her authentic Werewolf onesie, with her little dragon cured up in the hood... Strange pair they were. I still wasn't used to the whole 'Uncle Archer' thing either, but a 5 minute argument with a 6 year old, and the other Servants that wanted their freedom, convinced me to get used to it... Or else... Women...
Anyway, the kid was rubbing her eyes, looking like she just woke up, which she probably did. It was strange that I didn't notice her until she was right besides me, but considering she lived with three potential Assassin classes, it made sense if she unconsciously figured out how to do some form of Presence Concealment. "Yeah kid?"
Said kid mumbled something too low for me to hear, and after I hummed for her to speak up, she looked at me with her ruby red eyes, and repeated herself. "What're you holding?" I blinked at that, and looked to my hands.
I had to take a moment to remember that yes, I was holding a low rank blue kitchen knife Mystic Code that was enchanted to be self cleaning, sterile, and with a minor self repairing bit to top it off. It could've been better, but it was whatever. Shaking that off, I didn't see the harm in answering her question. "This, kid, is a Mystic Code."
She looked at me, and slowly blinked. It looked like she was starting to really wake up now, since she didn't mumble the response. "But... It's a knife."
I blinked back, and gave her a nod. "Yeah... But it's also a Mystic Code."
I didn't think she got it, since she looked at the knife, blinked again, then turned back to me. "What's a Mystic Code?"
That made me pause, because considering she lived with three Heroic Spirits, one of which was a Caster, the fact she didn't know what a Mystic Code was, surprised me. "A Mystic Code is an item enchanted by Mystery, and given effects it shouldn't have. Like this knife. It can slowly repair itself, and never needs to be cleaned." It didn't need it, but I would still clean it out of habit.
The kid looked at me for a bit, then tilted her head. "Mami can do better." She said that with the confidence only a child could wield. I didn't even know which one was supposed to be 'Mami', but I'd figure it out later.
Though... I wasn't sure why the way she said that offended me. "Oh yeah? Bet I have stuff she could never make."
The kid, Eri, pouted at me, and crossed her arms. "Nuh uh. Mami makes the best and prettiest things ever."
Again, not sure why I felt offended. "I've got better stuff though."
"Nuh uh."
"Yes I do."
"No you don't."
"Totally do."
"Nope nope nope!"
"Yup yup yup."
Didn't know why I was going back and forth with a literal child, by the Root would Rin never let me live this down, but it was cathartic. I had no idea what I was going to do for now, but at the moment, relaxing and annoying a child seemed to be nice.
And so it begins.
I also changed my mind, and decided this would be how Maccillian shares abilities.
