Chapter - 2

Honestly speaking, I was kind of scared because I had indirectly hurted the pride of a famous figure like him.

Still while bowing down, I quickly apologised "I'm extremely sorry for this, your highness. But believe me, I didn't know about your identity earlier so-"

Suddenly there came a loud laugh "Pfft! Hahaha!" Hearing that, I was kind of confused.

"It indeed is his voice, but he can't be laughing at a time like this, right?" I asked this question to myself in my mind.

"Oh my God! Hahaha!" he continued laughing. I quickly stole a glance at him. He indeed was laughing, but I couldn't believe it.

"Just now he was shouting at me because I didn't greet him properly and now he's laughing. Is he crazy or I'm not seeing the things right?" I was confused!

"Your face...!" he cried out. Yea, my face must be looking weird and confused at that time ofcourse.

"Oh c'mon Samuel! Stop laughing, will you," yelled Princess Dracona.

Trying to hold his laugh in, he said "Fine. I'm sorry, Sir Knight."

"What's with that name now...?" I mumbled with a weird face again, I guess.

It was because he again started laughing "Hahaha! Your face...!" while pointing his finger towards me.

"Samuel!" yelled Princess Dracona from behind. He stopped at once.

"Fine, I'll stop laughing..." he said with a serious face, but it suddenly changed "What? Were you expecting me to say this? Sorry, but Sir Knight is literally very funny that I can't stop laughing, hahaha!"

Seeing him laughing this crazily, probably both Princess Adriana and Princess Dracona couldn't stop themselves from laughing too.

I wondered, "Is he really Prince Samuel?" They probably laughed for like 1 minute, but then Prince Samuel coughed and advised "This much laugh is enough for today, I guess. Sir Knight looks kinda serious."

"He's always serious like that. It's nothing new," commented Princess Adriana.

Prince Samuel then revealed "I didn't really mean to yell at you. It's just that I was teasing you. I've always wanted to try this out with a knight, y'know. There are no knights in Irad Kingdom so I never really got the chances to try this out," he continued "I've heard that mostly knights are very serious, but I think you're an exception."

"Really Samuel? I think you're wrong. That line exactly describes him," pointed out Princess Adriana.

"But I think you're wrong Adriana. He's different..." he grinned.

"Anyways, I'm really sorry, Sir Knight," forwarding his hand he said "Here, stand up."

Ignoring his hand, while standing up I proclaimed "Thanks for your help your highness, but I think I can get up by myself."

"Ah! Looks like you're still angry, Sir Knight. Anyways, nice meeting you, myself Samuel," he introduced himself while forwarding his hand again.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, your highness," I bowed down.

"Forget about being friends with him, Samuel. He doesn't want to make any kind of friendship with us. Afterall, according to him we're just too different from each other even though all of us are humans," commenting this, Princess Adriana left.

"Hey Adriana, wait!" Princess Dracona followed her from behind.

The reason why Princess Adriana said like this was because of my past actions. Since childhood, although she had many people around her, she had no real friend. She was always pampered and treated different from others. She indeed was a princess, but she wanted others to treat her like a normal person. Unfortunately, that was never possible.

Mostly I accompanied Princess Adriana wherever she went, so probably she wanted to be friends with me. But I always treated her as my master and never let her become a friend of mine.

"She and I are from two completely different worlds. We can never become friends. Never..." I remarked in my mind.

"Sir Knight!" shouted Prince Samuel from behind.

I wondered "What happened to him now?" while turning back. I was shocked to see him kneeling down on the ground.

"Whoa!" I stumbled.

"W-What are you doing-" before I could even complete my sentence, he assumed while pointing towards my sword "If I'm not wrong, then it's the well-known Doris sword, right?"

I just nodded my head as a 'yes.'

Doris, which means 'a gift from ocean' was a very well-known sword in all the clans. The reason behind it was because the famous King Ohio, the husband of Queen Sedna had defeated the legendary 'Sea Serpent' through this sword only.

After he died, the sword was gifted to me by Queen Sedna and I was very honoured to have this. Though technically it should've been given to the descendants of King Ohio, I was given this instead.

According to Queen Sedna, I was the only one who was worth of it, because I had the best swordskill in the whole Kingdom of Maren.

"Can I please have a look through it?" he asked me while forwarding his hands.

"Ofcourse you can have a look through it, your highness. But why are you kneeling down on the ground?" I answered and also asked him a question along with it.

"That... as far as I know, for a knight, his or her sword is something very important to him or her. I've also heard that when knights are presented their swords by the King or Queen, Accolade is performed," he continued "In that ceremony, knights kneel down and receive the sword, right? So that's why I knelt down- I mean this sword must mean a lot to you so..."

I didn't really think him to be so considerate for a common knight like me. I could serious seriousness in his face and respect in his eyes.

"...I really appreciate your thought, your highness, but you're a prince-" he cut me off in between "It's not about me being a prince or you being a knight. It's about the sword and how much it means to you. It's like your life, isn't it?"

His this small act had somehow made me a bit smile. I didn't give him any reply and presented the sword to him. While receiving it, he bowed down his head and then took it from my hands.

Though at first I didn't really like his character, but his these small actions had a great impact on me.

"Thank you, Sir Knight," he smiled.

All of a sudden someone familiar commented "What has happened to the kids these days? They're more fast than even our magic."

I turned towards that direction. It was the voice of Miss Alinta.

She continued "Mister Samuel, if you're done with proposing Mister Chrysta then would you please take out a few minutes from your time to hear what I have to say?"

When I heard this, I was like "W-What did she say just now?!" in my mind.

"Oh I-" before Prince Samuel could even complete, she concluded "Wait a minute, I don't think I'm interested to listen your answer right now because I don't have as much as time as you teenagers these days have. Just quickly stand up because we will be entering the portal just within a few seconds."

Before either Prince Samuel I could explain her anything, she had already vanished.

I was kinda scared to look in the eyes Prince Samuel because I feared how he'd react of the incident which had just happened.

"He must be super angry! Afterall she said something which was related to his dignity. Even though I'm actually a girl, it's not like he knows that I'm a girl. She paired him with me, whom everyone thinks is a boy. It must have hurted his pride," I said in my mind.

I hesitantly looked behind and the face which I saw indeed was quite- different, I should say. It was something which I hadn't expected.

He had no expression. It was normal as if nothing had happened. He was super focused on 'Doris Sword' and was looking seriously at the carvings on it.

"Is he really a Prince or is this a scam?!" I wondered.
