She leaned forward and pressed her lips against his. The momentum and intensity gradually picked up with each passing moment and each subtle movement of their lips.

Elias leaned more into the kiss, amping up the pressure as his hands held her close to his body.

Alyssa drifted one hand up into the back of his hair, sifting through the wet strands. 

She lightly curled her fingers around them as his teeth scraped her bottom lip. She breathed in deeply through her nose, trying to quell her rapid heartbeat. 

She couldn’t believe they were making out in a spring.

Elias brought his hands lower, grabbing at the back of her thighs to draw her legs around his waist. His lips didn’t part from hers as they moved and pressed.

Alyssa felt the lightest dash of his tongue against hers, prompting a soft moan from her that she couldn’t control.

Elias immediately pulled back and cupped her face, making her eyes meet his.

"This isn't your fault. He made the choice to save you," he told her, not wanting her to blame herself for Scott's death.

He was upset that Scott was dead, but he was glad that she was alive too. Scott didn't die for nothing.

"I know… I wish I could've thanked him better," Alyssa said as tears slipped down her cheeks. "For a while, I didn't even like him, but… he wasn't too bad."

Elias couldn't help but chuckle a little. Pain echoed throughout him, but a little light humor made his grief less suffocating.

"He would've appreciated that," he told her as he brushed his fingers through her hair, not wanting her to worry about anything.

He kissed her on the forehead before sighing and turning to the others. "We should take him home. He should be in the family plot."

Melina nodded as she leaned against Tyler's side.

Family
