Chapter fifty six: Time flies

One once said: Time flies when we're having fun.

It was time for all of the fellows to go back. It was well past midnight. As they gathered infront of the door and bade goodbye, Aiden suddenly walked up to y/n. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

Standing next to her, Thomas found the situation quiet strange. they were all supposed to head back home. and now, why would this kid have anything to tell her, "Yeah, sure. I'll be back."

The nearest empty spot was Miles' garden in the backyard. As they approached, Aiden's face darkened. He looked completely different from how she had seen him a while ago. "I am sorry!"

It caught her off guard, "For what ...?"

He couldn't talk without fidgeting, "I ...overheard you and your friend talking in the kitchen..." y/n was shocked to hear the sudden honesty. She was worried sick all night because she thought the person who heard them was Issac.

She breathed a sigh of relief at being safe. At the same time, she really lost words to say. What can she ever say to explain herself to Aiden "I..."

"You dont have to say anything. I just thought about what you said...and I think I know why your friend might be avoiding you."

"...?" Not giving y/n the chance to reply, Aiden spoke up, "If I was in his place and I suddenly had to resent someone so dear to me, it would be only because...that person left me when I needed them the most."

They were silent for few seconds before she finally looked into his eyes.

She was so grateful that she found her answer through him but the amount of sincerity and pain in his voice saddened her. she couldnt help but think about the hidden meaning behind Aiden's words.

Aiden and Tyler had to say goodbye to a family member at a really young age. It must've left a deep scar in them. Ofcourse they'll resent Eunji for what she did...she left them.

"But at the same time... I wouldnt blame her for what happened." As he stared into her eyes, he searched for any kind of disgust in them, but found nothing. Suddenly his fear disappeared. He knew he had finally found someone who could understand him.

y/n stood still because she didnt expect the younger one to continue so soon but surprisingly, he did.

It shouldn't be any surprise, since that was what he suffered when he had been troubled in the past. still...it was heartbreaking.

"If...I were him," It was clearly visible how much it hurt him to say these few words, "I'll forgive her with just one sorry... I would just want her to come back to me."

y/n quickly wiped off her tears before it could roll down. She clearly cannot let the other one know that she's aware of his past. It would only make him feel embarrassed. "I dont know what to say...you're really thoughtful."

Aiden stepped closer and hugged the young lady, "I hope you understand my point. Dont beat yourself up for what's happening. I'm sure that's not what he wants...he just...wants you to come back."

Hugging back the younger one, they quickly finished their conversation and went back to the friends waiting outside.

Upon their arrival, they had to learn that Henry and Felix already left. Thomas was waiting for y/n while Miles and Jay waited for the teens.

Guess the older brothers had a lot to catch up with them. So, without further distubance, Thomas and y/n walked off. "What did he say?"

"He was the one who heard us talking." Thomas was too shocked to speak. he had many questions, but when he saw the tired expression on the other one, he decided to quiet down and accept it as it is.

It was a hell of a weekend for them.

The next morning, Henry and Felix arrived at the basketball court as promised. There was about to be a match between these two champions.

After a few rounds of the intense match, they were tied on points.

The sun shined brightly. They were sweating in and out. "Lets take a break." done before said. Felix was already sitting on the bench, chugging down on his drink. Henry joined.

"You're no match for me~" A chuckle left the other ones lips. they were breathing heavily with how the game turned out. "We should've brougth someone with us to decide the winner...It definitely wasnt a tie!"

"I agree, we should've brought Issac with us, He knows a lot about being fair."

"The other guy you came with that day?"

"Why would you adress him like that? He has a name." Somehow Henry offended him in the spot, which wasn't what he intended.

"Sorry, it's just that, y/n didnt talk about him as much as she talked about you. So I eventually forgot his name. Even last night, I didnt notice him at all." Felix went silent.

"Yeah, beats me how they became so distant over a year. They used be so lovey-dovey before."

"y/n? with that guy? I cant even imagine." Felix sat still but he silently agreed. He could also never imagine them together. But as they grew up, he noticed how they always treated each other differently. As if they were more than how it seemed. "They always left me out when they went on a date. I was like the third wheeler for them."

"They went out?!? You mean y/n was in a relationship with him?"

"I wouldnt call it that...It was like 'more than friends'?"
