Yura's mind was adrift , as she returned back to the school grounds, subconsciously making her way back to her dorm room.
As she was about to enter the girls dorm building, she noticed a boy standing outside.
From behind she could already tell that the boy was Dawn from his short frame and his flowing light brown bangs.
She walked up to him as he was mumbling some stuff to himself.
" Get it together ....you can do this!....... Ughh. Who am I kidding? I can barely say one word to her! .... Will she even want to see me? -"
" Will who want to see you?" Hearing only the last part of his self encouraging speech, Yura slid up behind him sitting on the ledge .
Clearly freaked out and surprised, Dawn screeched out
" HAAH!!!What the!" realizing who the person who pulled his soul out from his chest was, Dawn was immediately taken aback and stuttered;
" Oh....Yura! You....you scared me..."
" I can see that." she said as she took a sip of a mini milk bottle she had bought on the way.
" So , Who's the lucky girl?"
" Huh? What? ...You heard all that?" he sounded as if his entire life had just turned into a complete lie.
" Relax. I don't plan on blackmailing you or anything." snickered Yura finding Dawn's reaction quite cute.
"Besides, it's more fun watching you act like a crazy person talking to themselves."
" I'm not crazy! And I dont talk to myself!" his face flushed crimson red from his embarrassment and rage.
"I bet a hundred bucks that you don't have any friends to talk to." said Yura clearly enjoying taking advantage of this naive little class prez.
" I DO! I'm not you!" he shouted
"Ooh..OUCH. That really hurts. Guess you aren't a total pushover afterall. Makes me want to tease you more." said Yura pretending to clench a hurt heart.
Hearing those words made Dawn's face even more red and even his ears were now red.
"Tease me all you want! I don't care!" he blurted.
"Well since you clearly don't have any friends, are you here to see your cousin?" asked Yura still enjoying his reaction.
"I'm here to see....a friend!" he defended.
If Yura knew the actual reason that he was here, she probably would have teased him about it forever.
Dawn infact did have a few friends although they were more like allies than friends. The one he was closest to was Jessi , as his father had once worked under Dawn's family.
Dawn had spent the past few weeks practically stalking Yura. Don't get him wrong though, he was anything but dangerous. That is why he wanted to get closer to Yura. She reminded him of someone he once looked up to.
Yura's personality was cool and aloof , plus she was smart and strong. Those were the things that Dawn only wished he had.
Despite his family background, Dawn himself did not want to become like other plutocrats or rich businessman but instead he wanted to become an artist.
This of course made his father furious. 'How could someone of such high status want to become an ordinary artist who may not ever be recognized ?'
In his father's eyes, he was a failure with no ambition. Always being compared to his elder brother who now was no longer in this world either.
When he was younger, Dawn had remembered how his elder brother Dave had always defended him from his father's rude remarks and piercing insults.
At the time his father wasn't as terrifying to him, as his elder brother had always protected him. Dave had also been the original heir to the family, which had made Dawn's burden less.
Unfortunately Dave's unexpected diagnose of Stage 3 cancer , followed by his irreversible death had left the family in distress.
Soon after Dave's death, Dawn was given the title and responsibility as the sole heir to the family. All thoughts of his dreams were exterminated by the thoughts of doing right by his family.
Sometimes he wished that there was someone to guide him. There only being his father and the butler in the house, there really wasn't anyone for him to reach out to.
He often wondered if things would be different if his brother were still alive and if his mother hadn't left them all those years ago .
Although Dawn wanted to pursue his dream, his father's words and sentiment of him made him question himself too.
If he wanted to be acknowledged by his father then he'd have to prove himself a worthy heir, but if he wanted to follow his dream he'd have to leave everything else behind.
Having chosen to forget about the later, Dawn had began to look for people who could become his allies in the future and whom he could confide in.
Since day one that Yura arrived, he had decided to stick close to her and make her one of his people. The person whom she reminded him very much of was Dave. As weird as that sounds, everytime he saw her, he wondered if they could have been good friends.
Dave was an assertive person with a strangely large amount of confidence which had attracted many people towards him. He had a certain aura which no matter how annoying he could be, you would still fall for him.
On the other hand , Dawn was more of the quieter of the two. Despite not being as acknowledged as Dave, he had always had a unique calculative mentality which helped him get out of tough situations easier and plan for the worst.
Back to the reason why he came to the dorms.......obviously it was to see Yura!
"Pity. I was planning to ask you to go to watch a movie with me." Yura said as she waited for his reaction.
"Huh? With me?..Why?"
"Today is the premiere of 'The lady and the spider'. I booked two tickets a couple of months ago, but my partner couldn't make it ." said Yura showing a pitiful face which was too hard to make out if it was real or not.
" Oh. I wanted to watch it too. It would be a shame to waste it. I'll go!" he said clearly not realizing he had just been fooled into admitting that he his 'friend' did not exist.
"Hehe. Okay then! Let's go!"
