It's tough being a woman in this world, men around you see you as objects and monsters can capture you, turning you into breeding machines. For this reason, we women are heavily taught not to travel or anything that would make us leave our birth places for the fear of being captured by monsters and producing more monsters into the world.
It doesn't help either that we women are weaker than both men and monsters. However, strength can be overshadowed if a woman is born with magical abilities. This alone can make the difference in how people see you in this world.
My name is Rebecca Cross, I'm an 18 year old girl who was luckily born with magical abilities. My mom was a witch and so I inherited her abilities. I lived a sheltered childhood, my mom and dad taught me all about the world and how to act correctly in this world. I took these teachings to heart but it was my grandfather who had the biggest impact on me. From a young age, I've always loved listening to my grandfather's stories of when he was an adventurer; He would tell me stories of when he fought a whole horde of goblins or how he and his men slayed an Orc. I really admire my grandfather so much that I wanted to become an adventurer.
My parents were never supportive of me becoming an adventurer. They hated it so much that they taught me about the horrors of the real world and the dangers it has towards women. Even in school, the teachers always told me I was mad for thinking of being an adventurer. Still, I couldn't accept what they were teaching me and was still eager to become an adventurer to honour my grandfather.
When I was 15, everyone around me started to accept me actually achieving this dream as my magic abilities kicked in. From that age, I was able to shoot fire from my hands and was able to heal those around me. Although, it's a little embarrassing being called a witch but I will accept that title if it will make me an adventurer. By law of the land, I must wait until I'm 18 in order to become an adventurer. For 3 years, I worked hard to improve the power of my magic and to cast new spell's. By 18, I was fully ready to become an adventurer. I packed my important belongings, thanked my mom and dad and set off into the world.
I can't wait to accept my first quest. I remember my grandfather started his first quest in a little village that has a guild tavern in a little village not too far away from Kursk. To honour his legacy, I will do the same. My village is right next to this village and only takes a few minutes to get there. I'm kinda lucky to be honest. I arrive at the guild tavern ready to see an easy quest.
Upon entering, the smell of the place hit me terribly. I've never drank in my life but the smell of alcohol always makes my throat burn. I quickly approach the desk to inquire about becoming an adventurer. The woman behind the counter was an older woman in her 60s. Her eyes were sharp.
"You want to become an adventurer!? You must have some loose screws in your head" She snapped as she cleaned her glasses looking at me. I was a little confused about this but I reassured her that I was serious and I wanted to become an adventurer.
"A young lady like you won't last a day in this world" After her remarks, she handed me a contract to sign and she explained the rankings of being an adventurer. She explained that doing quests will make me rank up and the higher rank I am, the harder quests I can do. In total, there are 6 ranks starting from Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Champion. I remember my grandfather saying he was a Diamond rank and how hard it was to receive a Champion rank. Still, I accepted my bronze ranked necklace and was proud to become an adventurer. The old woman showed me the quest board and how to start a quest. I approached the quest board in search of a quest. Before approaching, the old lady handed me the contract I signed and told me to be careful.
When looking at the board, I noticed that the quality of quests were all Bronze ranked with only one Silver ranked quest. This must be because of the quality of the village I was in. I searched the quest board until I spotted a quest to exterminate a cave of goblins in the forest not far away from this village. Additionally, it was on the same path to the city of Kursk. I ripped the bronze quest off the board and went out to complete this bronze quest.
Whilst walking towards the forest, I read the context of the quest. It mentioned that the goblins were a small tribe that had recently grown in size. It estimated that there were at least around 15 goblins to kill. It also mentions I need to collect a goblin head in order to claim the quest for evidence. It's a little grim but I think I got what it takes.
I follow the map provided on the back of the quest paper to the predicted location of the goblin cave. On this journey, I walk upon a dirt path in the middle of the forest. 'Its surprisingly quiet' I wondered to myself as I walked on the lonely path. All of a sudden, bushes nearby began to rustle. I was finally about to experience my first real combat against a monster like my grandfather.
Without warning, the creature jumped straight out of the bush. I immediately cast my fireball spell to burn the living thing into ashes. My heart sank when I realized that the creature I struck wasn't a goblin but instead a small white rabbit. It squealed in agony as it ran in circles burning alive. I panicked and launched a massive water spell drenching the rabbit and extinguishing it of fire. The rabbit twitched with pain as it ceased to move and instead laid there soaked with burn marks plastering its small fragile body. I couldn't help but cry at what I had done but I remembered a story of the time my grandfather had to kill his horse because its leg snapped.
Instead of just watching the rabbit suffer, I quickly casted a healing spell which treated the burns of the rabbit. Thankfully, the fragile rabbit was healed in an instant and it quickly darted back into the forest. I smiled with hope as I looked up to the sky in triumph. My triumph ended when I heard branches being snapped behind me. I turn around to see the sight of a goblin sprinting towards me out of the forest. I was about to launch a fire ball until I released leaves were falling onto me unnaturally. I jumped back from my position and a second after another goblin leaped down to my previous location to attack me. Two goblins were in front of me ready to attack!
The goblin from the tree lets out a battle cry as it charges at me. I quickly respond with a fireball attack which critically hits the goblin sending it to spasm in pain, burning alive whilst looking at the other goblin. The goblin from the forest looks terrified as it runs back into the woods screeching a scream which echoed through the trees. The scream was ear piercing but I was more focused on completing the quest. I chase after the retreating goblin leaving the other goblin to be burned alive. I follow the screeching goblin until it retreats inside a cave.
Before entering the cave, I remember my grandfather's tales of when he partied up with a wizard who accidentally blew himself up using a spell inside a cave. I don't wanna repeat that and so I must only use magic that doesn't affect an area. For this, icicle spear magic is perfect for tight situations due to its thin spears. I gulp my breath and enter the dark cave.
For a source of light, I use my left hand to summon light whilst my right hand is free and ready to cast my icicle spell. It's dangerous to have a light source in a cave for fighting an opponent but I've studied goblins, they can easily see in the dark meaning they can ambush me easily. Without a time to react, a lone goblin appears from a rock and it quickly approaches me. I launch my spears towards it and pierce the creature from head to toe. My eyes were mortified when I witnessed the goblin's guts spill out onto the dark cold floor. My head was getting fuzzy until a sharp object pierced my shoulder.
Blood began to pour from my shoulder onto my purple dress. I slowly turned to my shoulder to see it was pierced by an arrow. I pull the arrow out of my shoulder and use my ice magic to make a small wall to buy me time to heal. I began to heal my shoulder quickly in order to jump straight back into the fight. Whilst healing, I noticed that one or maybe more of the goblins is an archer and I need to act quickly to take them out. After I healed, I quickly jolted from cover to launch multiple icicle spears into the darkness of the cave. I had no idea at first if I hit anything but the squeal of a goblin meant I had hit something. To advance forward, I make a long ice shield to protect me from head to toe and slowly, I walk forward into the unknown.
I walk continuously for a couple of minutes without any commotion, not a sound could be heard. In my head, I keep seeing the guts spill from the goblin. My head is really fuzzy but I march forward. Suddenly, a goblin pounces from a rock to the side of me. A knife is plunged into my thigh knocking me down on my back. I scream in pain as the goblin leaves the knife and begins to pull my dress, ripping parts of it in the process. Something hard and slimy rubs against my inner thigh. I begin to cry as I launch an icicle spear into the goblins throat spitting blood all over me. Quickly, I make an ice box covering all directions giving me time to heal.
The knife was luckily small but it pierced through my tights. I squealed when I pulled it out like I did with the arrow. As I was healing, two goblins began to bang against the ice walls. As they did, they maniacally laughed and banged harder and louder every time. I began to cry from shock but was headstrong about completing this quest. Once fully healing my thigh, I was ready to fight.
The ice walls finally broke and the goblin pounced towards me. Using the light from my left hand, I flickered the light to distract the pouncing goblin. The goblin missed me and I used the knife that once pierced me to pierce the goblin's back. It rolled away in agony. The other goblin came from the same direction and charged with a spear. However, my icicle spear was much longer as I quickly formed it and plunged it into the stomach of the goblin, sending the vile creature through it. Once again, I began creating a long ice shield but this time with curves to protect me against previous sneak attacks. I continue to advance through the cave. I just can't wait to get out of this hell hole.
I stopped in my tracks when I spotted a dim light at the edge of the tunnel. I approached the light in confusion as I once again knew that goblins don't need light to see. On high alert, I approached. I got closer and closer until I was in a massive open area of the cave. Inside this area made my stomach turn.
In this area, about 8 goblins were inside. Not only that, there were...two females...naked with round stomachs being mounted by goblin's. My eyes were fixated on the women being penetrated, the sounds of the goblins pound's made my head and stomach fuzzy. 'What the hell was this feeling?' I thought to myself as I looked down towards my legs. Suddenly, all the goblins in the area looked at me and began to crackle in laughter; The two goblins that were mounting the women turned them around and grabbed their chests to fondle them clearly towards me which I imagined were to intimidate me. My legs were starting to grow weak but I was still eager to finish this quest. 4 goblins charged straight towards me with spears. Due to the more open space, I could use more destructive spells.
Without taking a second guess, I immediately dropped the large ice shield and cast multiple fireballs directly towards the goblins. 3 out of the 4 were hit with the remaining goblin still charging. Due to the shortness of the rage, I revert back to my ice magic with an icicle spear launching it towards the goblin sending the vile creator across the open area towards the far side wall. The other goblins crackled in fear but they resume their attacks with bows.
To counter this, I once again go back to my ice wall covering all the small arrows launched. Once the rally of arrows stopped, I used my ice spears to kill the remaining goblins one by one, carefully not to hit any of the naked women. Finally, all the goblins were killed. I sigh in relief and walk towards the women.
Investigating the naked women, I noticed that their stomachs were not large because they were fat but because they are probably baring the children of these vile creatures. I noticed that there was one small goblin in the corner of the cave near the woman. It looks like it's not too old. I contemplated killing the thing but with enough determination, I cast a sheet of ice to drop on the thing to crush it instantly causing no feeling of pain in the process.
The two girls in the cave never really spoke to me whilst walking out. I had to make ice slays in order to push the two girls out of the cave. The reason for this was that one of the girl's legs was chained making her unable to walk properly. The other girl was genuinely scared to walk outside of the cave as every time I ordered her to leave, she kept nodding in disagreement as if she had Stockholm syndrome or something. Additionally, both women only muttered words, the chained legs women only muttered phrases such as "Thanks" or phrases such as "Free" whilst the other woman only grunted. I feel really sorry for them as they must have been in that cave for an eternity without freedom. This was confirmed when they saw the brightness of the sun shine brightly down towards them. They both squealed a little but I kinda laughed. Luckily, there were some rags in the goblin cave which I could cover the women so they aren't naked outside.
Before walking back to the village, I forgot to grab the head of a goblin. Luckily, I remembered that I scorched a goblin on the dirt path. Finally, luck was on my side today as the goblin still laid there. I cast a final ice spear to cut the head off clean and sack it away. I proudly walk back to the village with the two girls ready to ultimately claim my quest.
