- Just ahead there is a magic dome, a kind of invisible field that uses magic to hide the tower's location from people and maps.
It seems that only the dwarf seems surprised, which is not surprising, while the other two already seem to know this
- ~ How did I go about in a situation like this? … ~ Let's go in all at once to avoid attracting the attention of the person who put this spell (if he is still alive), if the person is inexperienced or with bad control of the spell (or is dead) he will not realize that there are four entering or you will think that it's just some animal that ended up entering.
Then we all took a step forward and entered the dome, the feeling was like going through a thin wall of water. On the other side there was only the continuation of the forest with a trail, which must lead to the tower, but because of the trees covering the sky it is still not possible to see the destination. At first it was too simple, which is worrying, because I didn't feel that there was any danger nearby or someone watching. And looking at the others it looks like they haven't noticed anything either, but I can't trust them yet.
The place must be abandoned, I think I worried unnecessarily… however, after a few seconds, the dome suddenly started to look strange and acquired a crimson color that started to spread until the whole dome turned red and the sky the color of blood. I started to run following the trail until I could openly observe the tree-free scenery on the way, the others started to follow me without saying anything. After a few steps I could see from the top of the mountain that we were, there she was, so I stopped running and watched.
- The Tower!
It was a huge stone tower, covered with moss and plants, but no matter how old it seemed, it was solid and resistant as a mountain, because even after several years had passed it continues to connect the earth and the sky, the clouds prevented see, but it does not seem to have a limit on its size and it is possible to observe that it is located in the center of the dome that touches it. The dome then begins to return its transparency from the center and extends to its ends, really a huge area. The sky returned its blue and the scenery its green and colorful landscape. In fact, a sequence of weird events that I'm starting to worry about even more.
- Stay tuned, it looks like we were noticed and we don't know if there might be others like us looking for the tower.
They nod their heads. It seems that my presentiment becomes more and more convinced in my head and something big is very close to happening.
We followed the trail for a few hours without stopping, passing through the forest until we came across a small bridge that crosses a stream, it seems to be only two and a half meters long, I think it is more for decoration than bridge. But what caught our attention is that there was a man holding a spear at the edge of the bridge, it must be the guy who was behind all this show just now, or even the guy who manipulated these guys who followed me. If it's really him, I didn't find anything prepared on his part, it doesn't seem like he could have thought of all that being so relaxed like that, but I'm not going to let my guard down for a moment.
He is very tall and has blond hair spiked up, unlike Raild who is a little wavy and in several directions. He has a short bard only on his chin and light brown eyes, wears ordinary clothes with choir armor and seems to have some knowledge of combat, although he does not convey any of that.
We approached him and he gave us a greeting:
- Hello, travelers! Welcome to ...
- Sorry to interrupt, but I could introduce myself first, I would like to know who you are.
I pretended to appear friendly to him. Depending on how he responds, I'm going to pull out my dagger and hit him in the neck.
- Ah! Haann .. Sorry for the bad manners - He apologized, rubbing his head a little embarrassed.
- My name is Ryan and I am the guard of that place.
- As I imagined, then you were the one who made that whole show before, right?
- Show? Me?
- Tell me, you also made these guys follow me to take you to the tower, right?
I held my dagger waiting to serve at the right time. I know I'm still an amateur adventurer, but I trust my survival skills ... if not ...
- Actually, you must be confusing things. I am a guard of the village, of the village!
When I came to, I noticed that the three were looking at me with disappointment while the man who called himself Ryan had dropped the spear on the floor and raised his hands high.
- Village?
Then he gave a little cough to try to make his presentation again:
- As I was trying to say, welcome to the village of Trinty!
For this I did not expect, I did not imagine that there would be living beings in this secret place, but there is an entire village! Does it make any sense ?! Why would they be hiding in a place like this ?! But since before entering here, nothing has made sense. I took a long breath and apologized to the guard:
- I'm sorry for misinterpreting, nice to meet you Ryan, I'm Lyunil.
- Oh, no problem everyone is wrong sometimes, and the other gentlemen? Are they your friends?
- Actually, I just met.
- May the protection of the forest be with you, Mr. Ryan.
- Greetings, boy from the bridge!
- And there!
- Wow, formidable! What a promising group yours are!
- What do you mean promising?
- Didn't you come as challengers from the Tower?
- Challengers?
- Several travelers from different parts of the world look for the Tower of Desires, they say that the one who arrives on the top floor is able to fulfill his most intimate desire, what he most desires in his heart.
- There is! I told you!
The little thief did not miss the chance to provoke at a time like this.
- So you're telling me that there are more people who came here before us?
- Yes, several groups of different types: mercenaries, students of magic, some came alone, others with several soldiers, large and small, people of different races and classes.
- Ah! How great, so even before I could have the chance to fight for some right, I already lost the chance to get what I came for. Really exciting.
- But you didn't come to get the Tower?
- I came, but the treasures hidden in its ruins.
- If that is your wish, then it is worth trying.
- Serious?! Do you really think that there is someone who would do little ones and fulfill the requests of others in exchange for wasting time? The world doesn't work that way, you must fight to get the things you want and not depend on miracles and a magic tower.
- It is indeed an important observation. But nobody said it would be simple or free of charge. As I said, several people came in search of the tower, but have not been seen since, how much are you willing to sacrifice to get what you want? ...
- My life!
- My life!
- My life!
The three responded promptly. Despite being a coincidence, everyone was definitely serious about it. Which causes me some disgust and pity, but not from them, but from myself. I came in search of something selfish and futile, because I would have to look for more ruins to continue to survive and remain in this miserable lifestyle.
Then Raild decided to take a step forward:
- Listen Lyunil, I don't know about these guys or about you, but I knew the desperation and that's why I can't afford to be weak or mumbling for nothing. Do you think I came after a "magic tower" because I wanted to ?! Do you think that we are omnipotent and that we can solve any problem ?! We know that we are weak and no matter how ridiculous or fatal it is, we hold on to the smallest of hopes as if it were a piece of wood in the middle of the ocean. You can be ridiculous and I give you the money I have for you, but I ask that you at least take us to the Tower and accompany us until we enter it.
We were silent for a few seconds again. After I took a sermon like that, I think that all that hostility ends up being emptied as a result. I really don't have the right to complain about anything, I've lost interest in the Tower since I wasn't the first to get here and the sooner I can get them to their goal, the sooner I can get rid of this situation. But Ryan ended up taking me by surprise with a look of compassion saying:
- And you, Lyunil, have something you deeply desire to make it come true?
- Something I deeply desire?
I hadn't stopped to think about it seriously.
- Well, follow me, I'll show you the village and the trail that leads to the Tower.
So we followed Ryan quietly while I pondered that question.
What do I really desire? ...
