(Third POV)
"Milim, you have to promise me you won't do anything bad in this city." Rimuru said seriously.
"I promise." She said happily.
"I guess that makes us friends now." Rimuru said as he looked over Akihito and Milim. He had already thought that he and Akihito had been friends or at least allies, but this was just to clarify.
After all he had been disappearing right when a new problem arise.
"I guess it does, but when I leave it's because I have this really bad bloodlust. I go and calm myself down if you get that." Akihito informed them.
Rimuru laughed nervously and Milim just continued to rock on the pillow like she didn't care.
"Hmm, calling us friends seem a bit weird. H-how about BEST FRIENDS!?!" She yelled as she hopped up on the pillow. It rocked to far to the left and she fell off.
Akihito caught her by the collar of her little jacket and put her back on the pillow.
"That's more meant for comfort not standing in triumph." He said with raised eyebrows. She laughed it off.
"Hmm, best friend. We'll see about it if you can keep your promise." Rimuru said.
"I always keep my promises." She said lowly.
"I cool with it either way." Akihito commented as he laid down on his stomach.
The little ride was silent for a moment till Milim asked a question.
"Have the two of you ever thought of becoming a demon lord?" She asked with a calm tone in her voice. Usually she's all cherry so Akihito guessed that this was serious.
"Hmm, not really. I mean as a demon lord what do you do?" He asked.
"Yeah, is there any merit?" Rimuru pitched in. Milim looked as froze as a statue as she heard them.
"Ehhh, doesn't everyone want to be a demon lord!"
"Hell no." Rimuru said plainly. Akihito laughed a bit and put some thought into it.
"It just doesn't seem fun. I'm too strong so I'm bored most of the time." He said.
"How strong is too strong?" Milim asked.
"How strong are you exactly?" Rimuru asked.
As Akihito was about to answer they arrived at the city which the others used shadow movement to get there before they did.
"I'll answer another time." Akihito said.
"WOOOOOW!!" Milim looked around with stars in her eyes as she went from place to place and running around the city.
By the time we got through giving her a tour of the whole city is sunset. Kids were asking Akihito where Kayda, Mufasu, and Severus are. He had to tell them that they going through a bad stage right now so they can't see them. It was a necessary lie.
"Now that you've seen the city, it's too late out to build the tub." Rimuru said with a tick on his head.
"We can make it tomorrow. It's not that hard actually. Do you still have some of the runes I gave you?" Akihito asked.
"Yeah, I actually duplicated them." He said.
"What runes?" Milim asked as she yanked on his are.
"Basically magic rocks. We'll show you later tomorrow, but for now you should quiet down. People are trying to sleep." Akihito explained.
(Akihito POV)
"Alright let's start by telling me how big you want this?" I asked as we were in a field away from Rimurus house.
"Just big enough for everyone in the conference room." He said.
"I see." I put my hand on the ground and started making the ground cave in on itself in the shape of a huge square. Then I compact that dirt against the walls of the hot tub.
With the shape out the way it I asked for forty runes.
I used the first twenty as heaters for the water and I used the other twenty so that while in the water if you put your back on the wall it'll vibrate. Then I outlined the pool with stones made come up from the ground and cut into slabs.
Then I was done.
Looking back I noticed they had been quiet for a while now. Just standing there looking at me in shock.
"Your hot tub is ready." I said pointing to it. I know seeing that would be a "spectacle" or whatever, but honestly I didn't even do anything with it.
If I wanted I could change the way the planet shaped.
Anyways!
"Ah, hmm, I feel like we're missing something." Rimuru said.
Me and Milim started naming off some things.
"Food."
"Wine."
"Toys."
"Hmmm. More wine too." I said. Looking around there seem to be no objection, well, they'll think about toys for Milim of course.
"No, I mean swimming suits and shorts." He said.
"Well just make some." I said.
"And can't you make your own clothes from magic?" I asked Milim.
"Yeah, but what does a swimsuit look like?" She asked. So now we're standing here looking at each other.
"Lord Rimuru, it seems we have unexpected guest." Souei said as he looked at the sky. It was Gazel, the king of Dwargon and the Dwarven hero.
I alway wondered what they meant when they say "hero". Meh, I can figure it out later.
....
We met Gazel and his knights at the city entrance as they circled around us in the air.
"If it comes down to a fight evacuate the city. Milim do not lay a finger on him. Everyone else keep your guard up." Rimuru said.
He was in his human form as they landed and Gazel walking in front of use. Kaijin, seeing Gazel was quick to kneel and greet him.
"It's a pleasure to see you again." He said.
"The same to you Kaijin." He said then looked over Rimuru, me, and Milim.
"So many different auras. I wonder which is the slimes?" He said. Rimuru walked forward and introduced himself.
"My name is Rimuru, but I'd rather you didn't call me that. I'm the chancellor of the Jura Forest Alliance, after all." He said. It was pretty obvious that he was wary of this guy.
Honestly, I couldn't see why. I opened my storage and took out a bag of mini donuts. It wasn't like the modern worlds bags, but meh. It's what's on the inside that matters.
As the conversation went on Milim started looking at the donuts with stars in her eye. She even tried fake crying till I gave her a bag. I had tons of stuff in there.
I'm fact I don't know what's all in there. I just want something then I put my hand in there and then voilà, I got it from somewhere or I put it in there a while ago.
Anyways. I felt a disturbance in the force as they pulled their swords out. Looking to the right of use I saw Treyni and two other dryads. She looked like she was taking this seriously, so I didn't greet her or anything, but nodded in her direction.
"Psst Psst." Milim started nudging my shoulder.
"You know a Dryad? Personally." She asked.
"It was more of a chance meeting. I have a huge affinity with nature so we're basically related." I said.
'If I'm like the little brother of Mother Nature, would that make me like, a father for Dryads and shit?'
I think not. Well forget it.
"Ohhh, I see I see." She said and went back to eating her donuts.
Rimuru and Gazel were in a similar stance, but any good swordsman could tell Gazel had more experience. The way Rimuru's footing is wouldn't allow him actually use the force from his legs to add to the strength of his swing.
While Gazel seemed to have mastered his sword skills and has a perfect stance allowing him to parry attacks, block efficiently, and it gives him more footing so he doesn't slide away.
The rules were is Rimuru can SURVIVE his chain of attacks then he wins and he'll acknowledge this place as a nation.
You see it's that word survive. Which means if he kills him he just does. What he doesn't know is if it even looked like Rimuru died he can kiss his whole kingdom away along with the little guards he brought.
Milim might not know the he's basically immortal. And it wouldn't be my job to stop her so it'll just have to happen.
Anyways, back to the fight.
Treyni announced the match to begin and instantly Rimuru launched forward. Once he got close enough he swung his sword at Gazel only to be blocked. Jumping back he ran around him and abruptly stopped, with his sword pointing straight forward now he was going for a stab type of attack.
Parrying his attack with one hand on his sword Gazel pushed Rimuru who was still in the air. After all the height difference is also a huge disadvantage. Flipping around he landed crouched on his feet.
"Eh, is this really all you got. Rimuru?" Gazel mocked him.
"Oh please. I haven't even started taking this seriously yet. Don't rush me." Rimuru said as he readied his sword. This time Gazel moved forward and slammed his sword into Rimuru's, sending him sliding backwards.
"Do you think he'll win?" Milim asked. Everyone looked at me like I was the only swordsman here. I looked back at Hakurou who just kept looking at me weirdly.
"The way Gazel handles his sword seems really FAMILIAR and he has more experience than Rimuru who's still a novice. Plus the height and body mass puts Rimuru at another disadvantage. He should loose, but he's perceptive and has determination. He's fighting for something so he's gonna pull the win out his ass somehow." I commented.
They nodded and continued watching the fight.
Determination: firmness of purpose; resoluteness.
"You don't have the determination to reach your goals." I mumbled. I mean, sure what if I don't actually care about the top or being at the bottom? Determination means you're willing to fight a battle to the death instead of changing your goals or make a goal that involves the same thing, but you would have to go a different path.
Determination, is something that I see as the reason a lot of protagonist get hurt and damn near killed for no reason, so without determination to do something you think smarter.
'So even if that old man thinks without determination I'm weak at the end of the day it's just me thinking smarter. I don't have to want to fight till I die for me to be able to achieve it. I just do it.'
Now that I think about it, a god damn Nike catch phrase just solved my problems.
A/N: It actually did. I went to Nike today and then I just thought about this.
With my thoughts cleared I focused back on the fight. Gazel put his sword up next to him with his hands and shoulders aligning.
"This is it." I said.
Rimuru recognized that stance.
"Haze: Thunder of Heaven and Earth!" Gazel announced.
"Sounds like some bad wuxian name." I said. I heard a small cough and knew it was from Hakurou.
For Rimuru it seemed as if Gazel disappeared, but he really just moved around extremely fast till he started looking around. Appearing back in front of him he swung his sword upward from the ground. Rimuru leaned back just in time for the sword to barely mis him.
Gazel with his sword all the way up in the air, brought it down with both hands on the hilt.
Rimuru blocked the strike with the side of his blade producing a small shockwave.
There was a silence as we waited. Rimuru was visibly shaking under the weight and force of the sword. Gazel started chuckling then laughing.
"You were able to stop my strike!" He said excitedly.
"Enough. The winner of this match is Rimuru Tempest." Treyni announced.
Putting his sword away they talked for a bit before Rimuru found out that Hakurou was both of their teachers. Following this Gazel wanted to enter an alliance with Rimuru.
Apparently king Gazel is over 300 years old and so it Hakurou. Technically I'm like 900 something, but me all mighty. What's my obsession over this anyway.
I stopped caring about the age thing and decided to just go with the flow of events. That ended the day.
"You could spend the night here if you wanted," Rimuru suggested.
"I would, but I don't need sleep. I was planning on meditating for a while and training for a bit." I said.
"Ehhh, you still train? For what?" He asked.
"Hmm, no reason in particular. You know in your past life when you play a game and that level is hard as fuck to beat, but you keep playing, because beating that level means you'll unlock a reward you want?"
"Yeah."
"That's how it is. No matter how calm and uncaring I am about something getting more power and seeing what I can do with it always satisfying. Like when you beat that level you have a whole small part and go wild." I explained.
"Ohhh."
"But you should train more. After all me and Milim are leaving you in the dust and you're like the kind of this nation, so you can't be weak regardless." I said.
"Then spar with me. I need to see where I stand right now. I could have won that match with my skills, but I think I lack experience and more physically strength."
"Sure, but it'll have to be later. I have something to do tomorrow."
"The bloodlust thing?"
"Nope. I'm not some maniac. It's just something personal."
