Moving Forward

Everyone went back to doing their normal jobs after a while of conversation. Souei was sent out again to summon all of the executives that weren't already present and summon them to the meeting room.

After that everyone went off on their own until the meeting was called. Well that was until Fuze and the king of Dwargon came here.

….

Their meeting was just starting and everyone was ready to be introduced. Shuna stepping forward and with her usual smile she spoke.

"Now that everyone is all settled down I'd like to introduce the representative of each nation. From the armed nation Dwargon, His majesty the king, Gazel Dwargo."

"From the beast kingdom Yuurazania, the leader of the three beastktears, Albis."

"From the kingdom of Blumund, Guildmaster and assistant supervisor of the intelligence bureau, Fuze."

"From the Sorcery Dynasty Sarion, Archduke Elalude Grimwald."

'He's the guy that made a ruckus over his daughter Elen. He seems like the doting type.' I thought as I listened to the rest of the introductions.

"Lastly from the Jura Tempest Federation, Chancellor and now his majesty the Demon Lord, Rimuru Tempest."

They made Veldora and advisor, but every time he talked he caused trouble, so Rimuru threw some manga in his face and that was that.

"Before we begin such meeting I would like two know who the two of them are." Grimwald said as he looked over at me and Mia. His eyes were closed as he looked at us with a slight smile.

'I don't trust people like him.'

"You and the world will know sooner or later. It'll be easier if everyone heard it." I said with a nod.

{You made us sound so sketchy}

{I mean, sure, but I'd rather everyone knew all at once rather than just making it clear for anyone I walked by}

Mia just sighed as the meeting began.

"Is it true that you came from the same homeland as Shizu?" Fuze asked. Rimuru nodded and gave them a rough story of his time as a human, his days after reincarnation, being ambushed by Hinata on his way back to Tempest, when he came back and saw the aftermath of the invasion, then everything up to when he became a demon lord.

That alone took a good 20 minutes.

"And due to these events I used Famas as sacrifices for my evolution to a demon lord." He finished.

"I see. Even if we told the public that story they would view you as evil. The situation was way too one sided. From the public perspective who have no way of knowing the circumstances it looks like a demon lord caused more than 30,000 deaths." Grimwald said.

"Not to mention the church would name you an enemy of god and the western kingdoms would turn hostile." Gazel added.

"All we have to do is make it so the truth doesn't get out, right?" Fuze asked.

"Correct. Rimuru you said there was no bodies and the survivors are imprisoned right?" Gazel asked.

"Precisely, with that what type of narrative are you planning to fabricate?"

"I see you have taken a stand, finding the fortitude of embracing both good and evil." Gazel commented.

"Now that we know the full story, it needs to be altered tremendously. For what reason and how are we planning on doing that?" Rimuru asked.

"I mean instead of altering it just tell them something completely different or I can just change their memories all together." I suggested.

"…While the offer is there I would like that to be our very last resource if all else fails." Rimuru said. I saw Gazel and the rest look at me strangely.

Well who wouldn't after finding out I can alter millions of people minds for a purpose that's not even mine. Hell their memories could be altered and not even know it.

"If what you want is coexistence with humans and monsters then becoming a symbol of terror would have the opposite effect." Fuze said.

"This also won't change if we push the blame on his subordinates, but it would be a different story if the storm dragon was the one to do it since he is already a legend. There would be no choice but to accept it." Grimwald suggested.

"Hmm, If anyone has any objections to this speak now. Especially you Veldora since you would be taking the blame." Rimuru said.

"I decided to-" Before he could finish speaking I cut him off.

"I object. I'd actually like to take the "blame" for this one." I said much to the shock and confusion of everyone there including Mia.

"Huh? Why? You do know you'll be looked at as an evil being right?" Rimuru informed me.

"Yeah, but I decided that I need to get myself known. Well more like an alias of me to get know. Mia even if it's out of fear, but people knew me would they be "followers" or "believers" still?" I asked.

"Technically yes, but why would you choose the littoral worst way to get known?" She asked tilting her head.

"Simple, the way I'm known don't matter to me. Plus it won't actually be "me" it'll be a false being I create." I said.

"Hold up, let's get to the main stuff first. Rimuru what'll you do about the prisoners. They might leak the truth." Gazel asked.

"I'll make the kingdom of Famas fall in line in one fell swoop." Rimuru answered with a serious look in his eyes.

"Ohh…so how would you feel if I told you I banned the kingdom of Falmas from existing?"

"…Well that changes everything. I was going to have him pay reparations to the Tempest. Then I was going to cause a sort of civil war to break them down from the inside. Once that was done I was going to appoint Youm as it it's new king." Rimuru explained.

"My bad." I said with a slight nod in his direction. He just sighed as he scratched his neck.

"While this is good and bad I'd like to ask the one known as Fuze a question. Why are you in diplomatic relationship with Tempest?" Grimwald asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I'd like to know what the king of Blumund's intentions are. With all due respect although it can hardly be called a major power, your nation is good at negotiating beneficial deals. So wouldn't it have been better to observe the western saint church first?" Grimwald queried.

"Yes it would have, but the king said "Form a relationship of trust and aim for coexistence." On of my colleagues had other ideas, but the king didn't want to nation to go under if we and Tempest didn't get along." Fuze explained.

" so I'm short you chose Tempest over the church for your own survival. Thank you for your explanation Fuze." He said.

"So have you made your decision? Will you work with Tempest or not?" Gazel asked

"I would like to ask Rimuru one more question." He said.

"Hold on papa, stop putting on an airs and answer already!!" Elen complained. He was trying to console her or something when suddenly Rimuru let out some of his aura.

Grimwald along with his guards were startled feeling this wave of pressure.

This was something like Demon Lords Haki if I remember from what Ramiris said.

It's a skill that demon lords have which allows them to make someone scared, insane, or kill them instantly if they're not strong enough to be exposed to it.

"My question is, what do you plan to do with your power."

"Oh, that's all? I'm going to make a world where people can live comfortably. A prosperous country where everyone can live with a smile on their faces. It's not that simple though." He said with a sigh.

I understand why he would want to do that, but that would only work in one place. After all the only reason this would never be achievable worldwide is because people have free will.

Everyone won't see what someone else does, they won't always think the same, everyone will have different opinions, some people like myself just wouldn't care.

People have conflicts because their opinions and goals are different. The only reason people have different goals, opinions, and ideas is because they have free will.

Let's say I take away the free will that humans have and made them all believe and think the same way as the other. There would be no war, no crime, and everyone would live the same life, so no injustice.

The only problem with that is that life would be bland. If I lived like that and it was the norm, life would be more boring than it already was when I was a human.

I don't want people thinking like me or behaving like me, but if people did the world would be a better place.

No murder, no stealing, everyone and everything is fair, you mind your own business I mind mine. The world would definitely be a better place even though it would be bland, but the people would be far from normal.

Everyone has trust issues and are skeptics, everyone might be a secret psycho with murder on their mind and most things about the world would become stupid, boring, of just interesting altogether.

I sighed as I shook my head.

Then I remembered where I was. As a human I had a lot of hyper focus moments where I would be so deep in thought the world would sort of just disappear while I get my thoughts and ideas together.

Usually when that happened it would be because I'm criticizing myself on weather I'm actually a good person or not. Usually it happens in those moments were I actually care if god was real.

It almost happened again. I blinked a few times as I got myself back to reality.

"Is something wrong?" Rimuru asked me as it seemed everyone had their focus on me.

"No, I just need a minute though. Imma be outside at the hill if you need me." I said and left out of the room.
