A Suicidal Queen

The vicious battle between Gorak and three of the fiercest, most powerful soldiers/warriors of the almighty Keeper's Council rages on.

Within just a few minutes, the battle had already begun to turn, and the golden trio were rapidly beating back Gorak's army.

Endless units of dark warriors, fierce shadow creatures, monsters and vicious beasts poured out steadily onto the battlefield in their millions through massive portals, teleporting in from various locations around the mortal realms.

Gorak ranked as one of the top ten most powerful gods existent at the moment, yet he was outnumbered with the calibre of gods he was battling.

Rather than send the Council's units of soldiers, as usual, the members of the Council had come themselves to apprehend him!

One of the most powerful gods versus three other gods of similar rank?... The odds were not favourable.

Naturally, Gorak was gracefully losing this war. But he would not go down without a fight. Therefore, he was summoning all his forces to battle, and putting up a h*ll of a good fight.

____

From where Dela is watching, she is slowly overcome with bewilderment as can tell... these three beings are much stronger than Gorak and all his forces and dark beasts together.

They were beating back the ferocious creatures!

Gorak could actually lose this war!!

____

"Heh! No no no no... he can't be losing. How could he be losing?!

How is this possible?"

Traumatised by the sight of Gorak and his entire army of dark forces losing the fierce battle before her eyes, Dela begins to suffer a mental breakdown.

The barrier was now starting to take some serious damage too from the ripple effects of the wild clashes between the gods, evidenced by some cracks appearing around it. It would not hold on for much longer.

Oris notices this and is beyond troubled.

"My Queen... we have to leave now.", he implores Dela.

"Leave? Heh. Leave to where?", Dela asks him, chuckling nervously in a 'you-ought-to-be-kidding-me' kind of way.

"To safety in the Master's domain. My orders were to take you there. The barrier cannot hold on for much longer.", explains Oris.

"Take me there? What about him? We can't just leave... his forces are being subdued. We are losing this war!

Don't think I don't know. If he loses, he will be captured." Dela stubbornly refuses to abandon her love.

"If worse comes to worst, the Master will escape eventually. Have some faith in him. He will return to you no matter how long it takes. It is yourself rather that you should worry about. You must survive.", explains Oris, frantic.

"He would return no matter how long it takes?", asks Dela.

"Yes. Of that, I am certain. Even if it takes an eternity to defeat his enemies, the master would get it done and return to you. This is his domain, after all." responds Oris.

"Oh? Return to me, you say. Look at me, Oris. I'm still mortal! I don't have an eternity. He would return only to my bones.

No. I refuse to leave! I would not live out the rest of my mortal existence without him. I would rather die here. Without him, I have no future."

Dela's reasons for not leaving Gorak are cogent. She was still mortal. If Gorak was captured here, she would be left without him. Immortal, weak and unloved. No family, no authority. No domain to rule, in this cruel, destroyed Earth.

She would be left to suffer and scavenge for her very meal. Be ravaged by monstrous men. Surely, she could not survive that.

Even if she went with Oris, she would still be mortal and weak, at the mercy of the powerful. Who knows how she would be treated without his protection. No, she would rather die than have that become her fate.

If she could at least become immortal, she would be able to secure her life till he came back to her if he lost the war and was captured today...

She had never felt so weak, useless and desperate in all her life. Not even when Gorak had captured her.

Over the past 2 years, she had depended completely on him. But now, that dependence was slapping her in the face. He was suffering, and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it.

Heck, she couldn't even protect herself!

____

"We must leave. It is dangerous here. Surely, the Master has thought of something...

Come on. The barrier is about to come down. I cannot let you come to harm, my Queen."

Oris' warning voice comes through Dela's thoughts again.

He was equally in danger. But his priority at the moment was to get Dela to safety. If he couldn't do that, then it would be better off for him to die here today on the battlefield than to face Gorak's wrath.

Everyone knew she was the Master's priority. The master cared for her even much more than he did himself!

"I'm not leaving. I must see to the end of this.", responds Dela, her eyes fixed on Gorak as he falls from the skies to the grounds, taking a massive hit.

He swiftly comes back up again, charging into another wild attack. Thank goodness.

"Do you mean to see to the end of your life?", questions Oris reasonably.

"...", Dela responds with silence as her brain works like clockwork, thinking up a solution.

She had to do something. It couldn't be over just like that.

No. She wouldn't let it!

____

*VWOOSH!!*

Another wild explosion takes out over a third of Gorak's troops in one bout, followed by a torrent of wild attacks between the two sides. Gorak was losing his minions rather quickly.

*ZAP!-ZAP!!-ZAP!! WHOOSH!-WHOOSH!*

*BOOM! ZAP-CLASH!!*

The skies Rumble with the effects of the insane battle, tearing up further, giving cause to a crazy torrent of rainstorms and rippling earthquakes.

Attacks of fire, lightning, ice, raw energy, hail and earthquakes were flying left right and centre. Nowhere on earth was safe at the moment.

The captured humans listening to this fierce battle were glad to be locked up in their cages, safe within the extremely distant walls of the Fortress' prisons and torture chambers.

____

Suddenly hit with a crazy idea, Dela finally turns to face Oris.

"Oris, take me to Gorak!"

Startled out of his mind, Oris exclaims out loud.

"WH-WHAT?!"

'She wants to go where now? To the war front of the chaotic battlefield below? To meet with the master in the middle of a war??', reasons Oris in alarm.

The master was currently being mercilessly bombarded with an incredible amount of brutal, violent god-level attacks... How could she possibly survive that? She would be dead even before she managed to get to him!

'This Queen must be suicidal. It would take a miracle to survive today.', he thinks to himself, dreading his fate.

"M-My Queen... it is not beneficial that you end your life today... There is still hope that-", Oris begins a protest before Dela cuts him off.

"I do not intend to end my life so casually. I have a plan. Trust m-...", Dela begins to respond when suddenly,

*CRA-CCKKRRRAACK!!! Rumble!, Rumble!*

A torrent of cracks spread rapidly across the body of the massive transparent barrier shielding the entire length and width of the tower as the barrier starts to give way from the last set of ripple attacks.

*CCRASSSSH!!!*

A small section of the barrier comes crumbling down to pieces, followed by larger pieces. The whole thing was coming down!
