Going Home to Death and Destruction

"...Aerys, you are Crown Prince of Aquila.

How I see it, if I died today, Aquila lost nothing because Aquila has you.

It is high time you ruled the kingdom!", King Florence suddenly says to his son.

___

____

"huh?!...", Aerys is dumbstruck at his father's words. He was not expecting this, especially as his father had survived.

It was too sudden.

"But- but father…" starts Aerys in protest only to be cut off again by his father.

"Why are you surprised? Would this not be the case if I died?" King Florence questions his son intelligibly, seeing his protest.

___

True, Aerys was next in line to be king after his father.

"Yes, father but…", begins Aerys, only to be cut off once again by his father's firm, authoritative voice.

"It is my will. From now on, you are King of Aquila!

If I die from this, I am comforted in knowing that my capable son is ruler over Aquila."

But Aerys would not stop his protests.
