(CHAPTER 12) THE QUESTIONING?

Suddenly, in a blink of an eye, a new day had arrived and Neon was now wide awake after the sun shone brightly at him. Neon rubbed his eyes and made his way out of room 10. As soon as he closed the door, he saw a large shadow on the door, which indicated that someone was behind him. He turned around startled. He looked to see who was standing there. It was Kain. "Hey Neon, I've come to escort you to Lucy's office, she wishes to have a meeting with you about the incident that happened." Said Kain. As they made there way towards Lucy's office, Neon felt like Kain was acting a bit off, but then he remembered that Kain and Pain were good friends, so the fact that he died may have had a huge impact on him aswell. When he looked up at Kain, he looked kind of agitated and lifeless as if he never had sleep in the last couple of days. "I'm sorry that I couldn't do anything to protect Pain, but I promise that I'll slay all the Iratheons." Said Neon in a rather serious tone as the hatred for the demons came rushing into him. Kain then turned to look at Neon in a puzzled manner but then smiled gently. "Why are you putting all the blame on yourself Neon? We are the ones who are really to blame. After all, we had the responsibility in protecting everyone. Pains death was a tragedy, but you shouldn't put all the weight of that tragedy, on your shoulders kid." Said Kain feeling a little less tense than before. They soon reached Lucy's office and Kain then left giving a final smile before leaving Neon.

He then went to nock on her door but before he could he heard a voice saying, "Come in Neon" He gulped and took a deep breath before entering to see Lucy sitting there in the centre of the room. "I've been expecting you, please take a seat." She said looking at him with a welcoming smile on her face. When he took a seat, she could see that Neons eyes were still quite bloodshot from the amount of tears he shed for Pain last night. Lucy after realising this, looked at Neon with a concerned and sympathetic look making him feel discomfort as he knew that she was looking at him like that only because of what the toll of Pains death could have done to him. "Are you feeling ok Neon, I know that you are still in grief but I do need to commence the meeting today as it doesn't fit into my schedule on any other day, I'm really sorry, but please understand." She said still having a concerned look on her face. "No I'm fine Mrs Lucy so please, don't worry about me." Said Neon clenching his fists under the table trying to hide his real feelings, which was sadness. Despair was overwhelming him and it took him all he had to stop himself from breaking down in front of Lucy. After she was convinced that there was nothing to worry about. She began to talk to Neon about the incident. "So what do you think was the main factor that made you awaken your powers" She said looking at him. Just when Neon was about to answer the question. A warning was signalled to Neons brain which said, "ALERT, YOU ARE IN CONTACT WITH A HARMFUL SUBSTANCE. ALERT, YOU ARE IN CONTACT WITH A HARMFUL SUBSTANCE. Suddenly, a loud roaring scream was heard in Neons mind which then travelled throughout his body. He fell to the floor screaming in agony. Lucy, who was startled and shocked at the scene quickly called the medical team. Excruciating pain was felt in his body, piercing every cell in his body and his muscles felt like they were being ripped apart. All Neon could think about was, "What the hell could the harmful substance be and what the hell happened to Open Wound...." He then passed out, out of shock from the immense pain he was feeling.

A few hours later, Neon woke up In the medical room to see a nurse standing in front of him. Her name was June ; she smiled at Neon who was slowly regaining consciousness. "Hey there sleepy head, your finally awake. Listen Neon, although you havnt suffered any physical damage, you have mentally and internally, so try not to move too much." As he heard those words he instantly recalled what happened when he was with Lucy. "What in the hell actually happened to me" Neon thought as he still felt pain that was stabbing at him, which fortunately wasn't as harsh as it was before. He then thought of Open Wound and what could have happened to him so he called out to him to see if he was there. However there was no response....
