(CHAPTER 39) REUNION

As if on cue, a hidden ally sprang into action. Kain, who had been invisible since the battle began, seized the opportunity to strike. Alongside him, Riyu, and Karla who had somewhat recovered from their fight, joined the battle.

Riyu, with his fiery abilities, and Karla, wielding gravity manipulation, united their powers for a devastating fusion attack.

Their combined abilities merged into a cataclysmic assault, as fire, force, and unseen power converged upon Keith. The battlefield erupted with an overwhelming display of their might.

Neon's voice resounded, filled with triumphant unity. "We fight as one, Keith! Our combined strength is greater than anything you can imagine!"

In the face of the onslaught, Keith staggered, his composure faltering. The combined powers of Kain, Riyu, and Karla overwhelmed him, leaving him no room to counter or escape.

As the dust settled, Kain utilized his invisible ability, shrouding himself, Karla, and Riyu in an unseen veil.

Riyu, channeling his fiery abilities, conjured hands made of flames that seized Keith's arms, rendering him immobilized. Meanwhile, Karla manipulated gravity, pinning Keith to the ground, ensuring he could not escape their grasp.

Frustration burned within Keith as he thrashed and lashed out wildly. His demonic energy surged, causing widespread destruction throughout the school, and inciting panic among the teachers and students who had been watching the battle.

Amidst the chaos, the heads of the school—Mr. Aurelius, Mr. Cardinel, and Mr. Xander—joined forces, using their formidable powers to erect a protective barrier, shielding the nearby individuals from the falling rubble and devastation. Their combined strength demonstrated their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the innocent.

Keith, unable to identify the source of the invisible powers restraining him, grew increasingly desperate. He unleashed a frenzy of attacks, his dark energy tearing through the surroundings, causing further destruction. The screams of fear and terror echoed through the school.

Riyu and Karla, pushing their powers to their limits, were tearing on the brink of exhaustion. Gasping for breath, they urged Neon to end the battle swiftly, knowing their strength was waning. "Hurry Neon, you've got to finish him NOW! We can't go on for much longer." Cried Riyu as the strain of pushing his power could be seen on his face. "FINISH HIM!" Yelled Karla as she began struggling to stand on her feet, landing one knee onto the ground.

Neon heeded their call.

With a primal roar, Neon charged forward once more, his angel blade gleaming with celestial light. In a quick and decisive motion, he swung his angel blade ever so swiftly, piercing through the air.

As Neon's angelic blade pierced through Keith's form, a chilling scream of agony tore through the air, reverberating with a deafening intensity. The sound was so overwhelming that those who heard it felt their eardrums quiver, a testament to the sheer anguish Keith endured.

In the midst of the excruciating pain, Keith's voice strained, pleading desperately for mercy. "Please... spare me! I promise... I won't cause any more harm!"

Neon's eyes blazed with righteous fury, his grip on the angelic blade tightening. His voice, resolute and unwavering, cut through Keith's desperate pleas. "You've already caused too much pain, too much suffering. There is no salvation for you, Keith."

With each word, Neon pushed the blade further, amplifying Keith's torment. His voice, filled with determination, carried a final verdict. "Your time is over."

Keith's body began to disintegrate, dissipating into nothingness. Neon stood tall, his expression resolute, as he watched the remnants of Keith vanish from existence. The air held a sense of finality, the battle's tumultuous echoes replaced by a profound silence.

With a surge of relief, Riyu and Karla released their grasp, their bodies drained of every ounce of strength. Collapsing to the ground, they lay there, their breaths ragged and bodies trembling with exhaustion. Neon, his voice tinged with concern, called out to them, his words carrying the weight of his worry. "Riyu! Karla! Hang on....SOMEONE HELP!"

From the onlooking crowd, a person could he seen carrying two stretches. Lucy, their ally and healer, could be seen, her expression a mix of urgency and determination. Pushing her way through the gathering, she rushed to the fallen warriors, her healing abilities already activated. "Don't worry, I'm here. Let me help."

With practiced hands, Lucy began channeling her healing powers, mending their wounds. Her voice, filled with empathy, offered reassurance to her comrades. "Stay strong, Riyu and Karla. You've fought valiantly. Just a little more, and you'll be fine." Once their wounds had successfully been patched up. she realized that they still suffered from extreme exhaustion. "hmmm, I'm going to have to take them to the nurses office to rest." She thought to herself. But just as she was going to put them on the stretches, she realized that she hadn't even looked to see if Neon had any injuries. After all, he was the one that went toe to toe with the demon.

With Riyu and Karla stabilized, Lucy turned her attention to Neon, her voice tinged with worry that he may have serious injuries. "Now, Neon, it's your turn. Let me check for any wounds you may have."

Neon, his body pulsating with residual energy, looked at Lucy with a gentle smile. "Lucy, I'm fine. My wounds have already healed. It seems my healing abilities have taken care of me."

Lucy's astonishment was evident as she stammered, struggling to cemprehend what she was seeing. "But... how? It's incredible. I know he has amazing healing abilities but this is just obsurd." She thought to herself as she continued to stammer, struggling to find the right words. "I guess you don't need any medical attention." Neon's voice, filled with gratitude, rang out. "I am grateful for my healing abilities, Lucy. They've allowed me to endure and keep fighting. But right now, our priority is Riyu and Karla. They need rest."

With the nurses office as their destination, Lucy and Neon carefully carried Riyu and Karla, ensuring their comfort and safety. The journey was filled with a mix of exhaustion and relief, their footsteps echoing through the empty corridors.

As they entered the serene space of the nurses' office, Lucy's eyes scanned the room, assessing the available beds. She directed Neon towards two adjacent beds, a gentle smile playing on her lips. "Let's place them here, where they can rest peacefully."

Neon nodded, his gaze unwavering as he gently laid Riyu and Karla onto their respective beds, adjusting their positions to maximize their comfort. He watched over them, a silent guardian, his presence radiating a sense of reassurance.

Sensing Lucy's impending departure, Neon turned to her with a determined expression. "Lucy, please go and aid others who may be injured. I'll stay here and look after Riyu and Karla. They need someone to be here for them at all times."

Lucy's eyes met Neon's, touched by his unwavering dedication. She understood the depth of his commitment to his friends, and her voice held a note of gratitude. "Thank you, Neon. Your presence will bring them solace and strength. Take care of them, and remember, I'm just a call away if you need any assistance."

Neon's voice carried a mixture of determination and gratitude. "I will, Lucy. You've done so much already. Please prioritize those who need your help now. I'll ensure Riyu and Karla receive the care and support they need."

As Lucy left the nurses' office, her steps filled with purpose, she couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort knowing that Neon would be there for their friends. The echoes of her departing footsteps mingled with the quiet serenity of the room, creating an atmosphere of healing and hope.

Inside the nurses' office, Neon pulled up a chair beside Riyu and Karla's beds, his eyes never leaving their peaceful faces. He took a deep breath, summoning his unwavering resolve to protect and support them through their recovery.

Without warning, a sudden voice could be heard. "Well I sure missed out on a lot...." Said FH with a slight laugh. As the soft glow of the room enveloped them, Neon exhaled a serene breath, his heart finding peace amidst the tranquil atmosphere. Without turning his gaze from Riyu and Karla, he responded to FH's unexpected arrival with a calm and gentle tone, "Welcome back, and yeah...you sure did..."
