Chapter 034: Ambush!

It was the end of the school day and Higura didn't stay after instead he went straight home. On his way back he kept feeling like he was being watched and started working it could be one of the girls who have been pestering him about things. After reaching his house he went up to his room and looked out of his window. There was a figure that quickly dashed away after he opened the blinds.

"A-Another stalker?"

He wrote some more before being called down for dinner which was cooked by his sister. It was a day that their father was able to be home for dinner so they all ate together. The tv was on and the people on it were talking about Kotone Miyamoto and how she transferred into a new school with no reason stated.

"So now there's 2 famous people at your school? Have you seen them?"

Higura's father, Haru, was trying to start a conversation and of course it's something Higura didn't want to talk about.

"Yeah, they're both in my class."

"Woah, really?"

"Yeah, we've talked before."

Kokoro quickly darted her eyes over to Higura which made it seem like she was preparing for murder.

"It seems like I'll have to start keeping watch on you at school…"

"No. No breaking the rule I have made."

"But at this rate your going to be stolen from me!"

"No, you're not allowed to interact with me at school in any way."

"Awww…"

The table went silent and everything became awkward. Higura quickly finished his dinner and went back up to his room to write until 11:42PM at which he went to sleep.

He woke up and got ready for school then started his walk to the school before being interrupted.

"Haha! I have discovered your hideout! You'll never again be safe again from the likes of me!"

"Ah shit…"

Yuuna appeared from behind a wall and ambushed Higura. She was obviously still on her way to school since she had her uniform and bag on her.

"So you're the second stalker…Why am I getting so many stalkers this year?"

"I-I wasn't stalking you!"

"Okay…Anyway, I'd like to go to school now so if you could just you know…Leave."

"I can't do that, you are a menace to the world that I must exterminate!"

"I'll be going now."

Higura turned around and continued heading for school as Yuuna was following and yelling at him the entire time.

'How can I get her to leave me alone…Ah! Maybe she just needs a taste of her own medicine…'

After the long day at school Higura rushed to a store that sold air soft guns. He looked at the prices and realized something.

'A-Am I really going to spend this much money on just trying to get someone to leave me alone…? Whatever, it's a one time purchase.'

He grabbed a handgun and brought it to the front counter. The man who owned the store had a massive scar on his face which actually made Higura a little scared.

"This all you getting?"

"Y-Yes."

"Just be sure to not pull any stupid pranks that can get me in trouble."

He put the gun into a bag and put the bag into his school bag. He went home afterwards and awaited for the next morning. When morning came he was once again walked out of his house expecting to be ambushed. Yuuna once again jumped from behind a wall and held an air soft gun at him. He reached into his bag and pulled out his newly purchased gun and held it at her.

"So you finally accept a battle…"

"Yeah, let's get this over with."

"You seem confident."

"Because I'm going to beat you and you'll leave me alone."

"Like you'd win! I will defeat you once and for all!"

The battlefield was being blasted all around with them in the center of it all. They were the strongest of the armies, one had mysterious abilities while the other had natural strength to their advantage.

"This is the first time we truly faced each other…I will not hold back!"

"Neither will I!"

Her eye began to glow as her gun increased in size and a magic circle appeared at the end of the barrel.

"My eye gives me perfect aim, there's no avoiding it!"

Yuuna fired a bullet at him as everything slowed down as if it were an anime so the main character could do that talking thing that happens in a majority of anime.

"Why would I need to avoid it when I can take it head on?"

"Huh?! Impossible!"

The bullet hit Higura's hand and dissolved in his palm.

"H-How did you block my bullet…? It should be able to pierce anything!"

"I have dead space in my hand where I feel no pain and negate the effect of the hit. I can get shot there as many times as I want and never feel a thing. As long as I move my hand fast enough I can negate all pain and effect."

"I-Impossible!"

"Now it's my turn."

He held up his golden glock and fired it at her. She took a direct hit and screamed.

"Now do you understand our difference in power? There's nothing you can do…Now leave me alone for the rest of time."

"N-Not yet…"

"Huh?"

"I said not yet!"

She held her gun up and started shooting rapidly and used all her bullets.

"You said as long as your fast enough to block them you'd win, but what if there's no way to block them all at once?!"

"My oh my…How stupid you can be."

"What?!"

He held his gun in his other hand and started shooting at the bullets while blocking the ones he missed with his hand. After only a short few seconds he hadn't been hurt in any way and the enemy had no more means of an attack. He walked towards her and put the gun up to her head.

"Admit defeat."

"I can't do that…I'll always be back, you'll lose in the end!"

"Then you leave me no choice…See ya, I'm going to be late to school now because of this..."

He fired the gun and Yuuna's corpse now lied on the battlefield with the victor being Higura as he continued on his way to school.

'D-Damn…I didn't think he'd be this strong…I'll have to get stronger for our next battle…!'

Higura turned the corner and put his gun back into his school bag.

'You know what…That was actually kind of fun…Wait, am I becoming a chunibyo…? N-Nah, no way!'

He got to school and continued on throughout the day and kept aware of the possibility of another ambush. In the end he was never ambushed again…But it won't always be that way!
